Um...  No...  If anything, I would have to say the best Starwars battle/end song would have to be Duel of the Fates.  I mean...  That one is just excelent...

I agree with Rema, the song at the end of EPII was quite excellent.  It had kinda a techno thing goin on.  I think we could do something with this.

Duel of the Fate is good though. I think if we get the song down to a few choices we can has one of the higher ups to make a poll or something.

Well sticking to classical style here would be non-John Williams songs I'd go with, also I don't know if any of these are actually public domain or not:

Gustov Holst's Planets Mars Movement
Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No.9 Fourth Movement
Modest Mussorgsky's Night On Bare Mountain
John Sibelius's Finalndia

Which version of Chorale of the Bellsare ye talking about?
The Christmas or the Gregorian Chant one?

GAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!! Shazam, you've never heard of the Greatful Dead?! GAAAAH! They're only one of the most famous bands of the 70's-80's! They had the greatest guitar player who ever lived, Jerry Garcia! That's where the "Jerry Bear" came from! I can't really discribe what they sounded like, as they have their own totaly different sound. It's like a bizarre mix of folk music and rock.

Dude, you forgot to add the Russian national anthem, if you've never listened to it before you need to listen to the opening of Hunt for Red October

Hmmmm, Night on Bald Mountain should be public domain, and I think the other ones are too.  That's the nice part about classical music, they're usually old enough to be free

Anyways, my suggestions:

Most of the planets themes, they're pretty good
Night on Bald Mountain
Russian National Anthem (maybe to controversial, but it definitely has the right sound quality...)
Christmas Eve Sarajevo (by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, for some reason Russian music seems to sound good...)

And I must admit that The Saga Begins would be interesting, but I'm not sure we want to open with Wierd Al

ooo Russian National Anthem is good. But might not be the best for the VE.

A mixture of Folk and Rock, then you might as well be talking about the Eagles...  Eagles just ruled my friend...  Hotel California live is easilly one of thier best if not the best.  When I say live I mean on the Hell Freezes Over soundtrack where they redid the song...

Well then, check out Christmas Eve Sarajevo, the only Christmas song I could see as the them to an action movie

Wait a second, what do you mean something more powerful?  Have you actually listened to the Russian National Anthem?

Anyways, Night on Bald Mountain is still a good one that I'd suggest, although the planet themes may not be powerful enough (haven't heard Mars yet, so I can't say for sure).

Anyways, I'd say we definitely want to stick with classical stuff, it definitely has the right feel.

It would be funny to have something like My Cherona. Or maybe some rock with some violin parts. I have a bunch of them, so I'll look through them, see if any stand out.

Umm, well, they were kinda like the Eagles, but not quite. It's just really hard to explain. Here are some of the Dead's better songs:

"Fire on the Mountain"
"Uncle John's Band"
"One More Saturday Night"
"Sugar Magnolia"
"Friend of the Devil"
"Kilgary Mountain"
"I Will Get By/Touch of Gray" (not sure which is the correct title)

It's about a mutiny on board a US missle sub that has been ordered to fire on the Soviets. Has Denzel Washington and that older guy, can't remember his name.

I have a little expierience in this area sort of.

I find it is much easier to fit a piece of music to a scene rather then fit a scene to a piece of music.

Oh and Argon, for Mars just think Death Star trench run from Ep IV and you got it for the most part.

I remember now! The older guy was Gene Hackman, with the younger officer played by Denzel Washington. The sub had been ordered to fire nuclear missles at the USSR before it lost contact with command. The captain (Hackman) wanted to fire right away, but the XO (Washington) started a mutiny because he wanted to wait. It's not a new movie, came out before 9/11.

Kuroishi's idea sounds good to me, and I still think we should go for classical over rock, rock just sounds too juvenile most of the time.  The only "sorta-rock" thing I could go for is Hell's March, the theme to Red Alert
