Rogue checked his weapon load one last time then launched from the escort carrier as carefully as he could. He had never flown one of these odd shaped Scimitar bombers. He was use to flying Rebel craft or regular TIE design. This ship had at a couple of advantages over the old T/B’s though that Rogue appreciated. It was more maneuverable and carried a good sized pair of shield generators. He formed up with his flight in his spot on Lonewolf’s starboard wing. Their two ships were the heavily loaded ones of Aegis ships. They carried loads of proton torpedoes in their launchers while flights one and three had Ion Pulse Warheads in their modified missile launchers. Rogue and Rusty had launched at the same time. They were the last two of Aegis to launch for this mission. After their launch, the escort carrier turned about and headed off to jump to hyperspace. One minutes later, the carrier jumped out not to return til Aegis reported mission complete.  The members of Aegis carrying the Ion Pulses formed one wave with Flight Two providing cover for the first run. Their mission was to disable the captured Carrack not destroy it outright. Rogue’s load alone could nearly destroy if not cripple the ship. So he and Lonewolf were there to deal with the X-wing squadron that were riding shotgun on the Carrack to make sure it got back to NR controlled space. As Aegis’ scimitar bombers raced toward the enemy controlled ships, all pilots began to lock on to their assigned targets. Rogue locked the 3 of the X-wings into his targeting computer so he could switch targets and fire his torpedoes at them one after the other. He then linked his torpedoes to fire two at once and started watching the range scroll down toward launch range.

(Rouge transports are,i guess, still hanging around after liberating the cruiser. once we disable it they'll try to recatpure it. thats it i guess. remember its only one squadron of X-wings i dotn want them going so fast.) LoneWolf locked onto another fighter and shot off a torpedo, he then switch to cannons as the odds called for faster fire. He fired unlinked lasers to have the enemies scatter off in panic. The enemy squadron was more than organized, the torpedo he fired was taken down before it hit his mark, however the splash damaged still tickled the shields. As the fighter walls collapsed a hectic hell erupted, however flights three, and one only mildly attacked the fighters. They quickly fired their Ion Pulse Warheads at the liberated Carrack, it stubbornly attacked the incoming projectiles, however only took a couple out. The shields greatly dropped to 135 percent, after being set at 200 percent. LoneWolf engaged an X-wing he stuck on its tail and fired linked shots. The shields burned off easily, a deep satisfaction from the green bolts brought a childish pleasure to his dark eyes. He continued his onsault dropping the shields at last to let his rage in. like a light seeping into a dark room the X-Wing exploded. LoneWolf laughed furiously and noticed an enemy on his tail. He pulled the countermeasure trigger to hurt the enemy into a confusing spin. LoneWolf turned then fired a blind torpedo at the twisting fighter. The collision was fierce as the two moved toward each other like magnets.

Rogue cut another turn as tight and as fast as he could, which wasn’t nearly as well as his T/A would do. He had to nail this X-wing soon and get started on another one. It was taking far too long to kill each of them. He original missile salvo shot had been spoiled when the Aegis ships were spotted. He only got to fire one pair of torpedoes and had only succeeded in taking out the shields of one of the X’s.  It was that X-wing that he was trying to finish off at the moment with lasers. He finally managed to nail the astromech of the X-wing with a rapid fire blast of his lasers. He was sacrificing the power of each shot in order to fire more shots faster. Thus it took more shots to kill the X’s. Rogue followed the X-wing through a series of evasive maneuvers and kept trying to nail the X. The only good thing was that the X-wing wasn’t that much more maneuverable than the Scimitar bomber that he was in, which had a maneuverability that came in between the X–wing and the Y-wing. Rogue began trying to lead the X-wing’s maneuvers in order to get a killing shot. After a couple of moves, Rogue got a lucky break. The X-wing had to jink hard to avoid one of the transports that had been used to capture the Carrack. Rogue got lucky in the fact that he managed to choose the correct way the X-wing would move before it moved. He fired as it started the maneuver. Green lasers raced out slamming into the X-wing’s S-foils from above, right to left.  Several shots punched through the X’s engines and hyperdrive motivator.  Rogue barely escaped being caught in the following explosion. The fight was almost ten minutes old and only three of the X’s were dead, with over half the cruiser’s shield strength remaining. LW had managed to get two of the X’s in the time it took Rogue to get only one. They would have to get serious now, because there were actually up against pilots who knew how to fly in those X’s. There were nine X-wings remaining that were still combat effective so Rogue turned to engage the closet one.

Commodore Darkhawk landed in the hangar bay of the massive Imperial warship, the Super Star Destroyer Atrus, and made his way slowly out of the cockpit of his starfighter. He had yet to come up with a name for his newly acquired TIE Phantom, a gift from the rest of the Naval High Command. He had earned the starfighter after his time as the Naval Training Officer, a six month long stint during which he had grown considerably both as a leader and as a man. But now, things would be different for awhile. He had returned to the Atrus from Lopen, where other duties had been keeping him occupied for a few days. Now that he was resigned as Training Officer though, he was returning "Home", to the Lusthawks. Yes, Riel and Japheth had decided that he was going back to Aegis Squadron. He would remain on the Academy staff for a few weeks as an adjutant for the Training Officer - only a handful of people knew who that was going to be - and then return completely to squadron life. Oh, how he had missed it. It had been a long time since those days back in Aegis, hell back in Kaph, when he and Riel and flown side by side, when he had battled dozens of Imperial and Rebel ships alongside pilots like Twin Fury, Lonewolf, Kain Rennok, Malik, Corran, Japheth, Rukh, JMac, and sk8guy. A few of the old boys were still left in Aegis; he was eager to see them - even if he did catch glimpses of most of them around the Dark Jedi's base. Darkhawk began to head for the simulators, but just as he was going to catch up with the rest of the squadron and join them in the new Elite Squadron Competition, an urgent message blared. Not over the ship's loudspeaker, but in his mind. So . . . those other duties he thought he had left far behind him were not quite complete. Few people knew it, but Darkhawk was not just a Dark Jedi Knight. He was - well, those who knew what he was were a tad more cautious around him. Putting all of that aside, his presence was needed elsewhere, and fast. Cursing, he ran back to his TIE Phantom. Leaving a message for sk8guy and Lonewolf, an apology for his absence, he booted up his starfighter's engines and headed across the galaxy, for the distant planet of Movogordine. The last words of his message rang in his head, words he knew Lonewolf and sk8guy would be reading by now. "Hang on, sirs. We have done this once before; we can do it again. Have faith in one another and believe. Keep that faith strong and fight with all of your strength. And always have this one thing to reassure you - I will be back."

Rusty too, had been late. He had been on a special mission for Riel. So, he was a bit tardy. He quick jumped into his sim and blasted off into the black space. He was ready to disable the Carrack. He noticed that Rogue had given it a few shots, but just enough to give it a limp. But he soon realized that these X's were a lot better pilots than in the last sim. Soon he had locked on to one, but manuvering out of it until his partner shot the warhead down. Rusty knew that he couldnt waste his inventory on missed X's. So he took a few shots from his blaster. Slowly lowering the X's shield. He peeled off from the heat of the dogfight to take a few more shots at the Carrack. one-hundred-twenty percent, he noticed. "Not for long..." he mumbled under his breath. He let loose a cluster of warheads, only one being shot down, and the rest lowering the shields to seventy five percent. Liquid took a few shots, all making contact, and lowering the shield again, to sixty percent. Rusty locked on to another X, he let go a few bolts, taking out the shield generator on the X-wing. Rusty was trying to keep up with this clearly trained pilot. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to take this guy alone…

Rogue checked his sensors and saw that Rusty was engaged with one of the X-wings. He was getting hits but was clearly not going to be able to finish the X without help. Rogue managed to break contact with the X that he was trying to engage and went to help Rusty with is. Rogue went for a cut off move, wanting to go head to head with the X-wing while Rusty took it out from behind. Rogue commed Rusty “Rusty, when I shoot a torp at the X in front of you nail it from behind. And don’t worry, I wont hit you.” Rogue boresighted a torp and fired it at the oncoming X-wing. Rogue watched the X-wing start to jink to avoid the torpedo and he started spraying lasers in the X’s direction. The X-wing pilot became worried about the lasers detonating against the remains of his front shields and not the torpedo or Rusty, who was behind him. Thus he forgot one of the rules of a dogfight and Rusty made him pay for that, blowing him to pieces with several bursts of laser fire. Rogue and Rusty flew right by one another, passing within feet of each other as each made sure the other didn’t have a bandit on their tail. “Let’em try and keep up with these moves,” Rogue thought to himself about his and Rusty maneuvers.  Rogue reversed his course and turned back into the fight to find another X-wing to kill.

LoneWolf dodged another shot from an X-Wing he carelessly picked up he was trying his best to keep the other two flights cleared for shots, but the pressure was well kept. "Guys get you Ion Warheads off that carrack isn’t gonna stay in this sector forever!" he then realized his craft had drifted to turbolaser range. LW dodged off the rain of green bolts to tangle the X-Wing that took him in the trap. He was hammered by multiple laser hits, then returned the favor to a different wingmate of the rebel. He was anxious for the fighter screen to be taken out but he knew that carrack cruiser had to be disabled, by Flight one, and Flight Three. He began to set up protecting flight three where Jmac, Liquid, and Rusty were forming for an attack on the cruiser. He scared off an X-Wing on Liquid’s tail then noticed an other X-Wing behind him taking on Jmac. He yelped out seeing the fighter was glued on him, "Get this guy off me!" Lonewolf turned around to attack, by the time he began taking the shields though Jmac’s craft was burning up. he heard him yelp over the radio as he managed to turn his crashing ship into the carrack cruiser bruising the shields to the low teens. LoneWolf brought his hand up to give a quick salute then concentrating on another X targeting Rusty, he hit the shields sending it retreating for another run.

Rogue saw Jmac get hit and burn up into the cruiser. It didn’t even phase him since he knew that this was only a sim and not real. He repeated LW’s order for Flights one and three to disable the cruiser over the com and went back to trying to kill the half squadron of X-wings that were left. Rogue managed to cut off the X-wing that LW had scared off of Rusty and with a significant number of laser blasts managed to burn through its remaining shields and turn it into space debris. Rogue then began to search out another X-wing to finish off while Liquid and Rusty made another run on the cruiser firing lasers and Ion Pulses. Rogue thought there must be something special about this cruiser for it to take so many Ion Pulses and not be disabled. It had taken almost all of the two crafts loads to get its shields down to where they were now, just above being gone. Rogue dropped in behind Liquid and Rusty from a significant distance to cover their tails as they made another run. This time they struck pay dirt as the cruiser’s shields collapsed and their Ion Pulses played over the ships hull, disabling its systems. It took one more run of Ion Pulses to finally, fully disable the Carrack and get it to be dead in space. Rogue announced the results over the com to the rest of the squadron. “The cruiser is disabled, now to kill the remaining transports and X-wings.” Rogue climbed away from the cruiser and moved to kill one of the transports trying to redock with it. The transport probable had Rebel engineers and soldiers aboard who just might be able to fix the cruiser.  As Rogue blew the transport to bits, Liquid and Rusty managed to disable a second one with a few of their remaining Ion Pulses. Rogue then got an idea to deal with at least one of the X-wings that were proving to be so troublesome still. He had Liquid and Rusty cover him as he engaged one of the remaining X-wings. They fired there remaining Ion Pulses as soon as Rogue engaged the X. The two ships managed to dodge three of the Pulses, but two hit the X-wing, disabling it, but one hit Rogue’s shields completely shorting them out. It would take repairs aboard a base ship to fix them. He told this to LW over the com and he ordered Rogue to do what he could, but since it was only a sim, to keep trying to help finish off the remaining X-wings since Liquid and Rusty were just about out of Ion Pulses now. Each of them was reporting only one Pulse left in their missile bays while Rogue and LW had multiple torpedoes left to be used.

(OOC: were doing too well... HEHEHEHE! i want this taken out as long as it can go!) LoneWolf began locking onto another transport rushing to dock with the Disabled cruiser. It seemed though that the outnumbered aegis was loosing its tide. LoneWolf triggered his torps to hit the landing shuttle, it was cut off when chaff burst triggered in response. the wrong thing to do. The defenseless Carrak cruiser lay in the background as the shuttle dodged out of the blind torp’s way. LoneWolf cursed as it hit the rear engine, a bigger explosion occurred as it took out the rear half of the cruiser. "Ah! Cranky!" LW cursed, it became worse as an X-wing shot across space to take the torpedo out, however in vain as it added more damage to the critical craft. He looked at his still locked target as its orders switched from rescue to demolition. Escape pods managed to leak out, as the X-wings took shots at the cruiser sending it to brilliant flames. The sim suddenly shut down as failure became clear. "Sorry Aegis squadron, you’ll have to retry this mission until success is succeeded. Good Luck on your retry." LoneWolf spat out an apology then hit the button to restart the mission. "Take it slow, and careful this time; Slow, and careful."

Rogue blinked in sudden astonishment as the simulator went dead around him just after he saw a massive explosion come from the back end of the disabled cruiser. Someone must have screwed up for the sim to end like that. Even dying in the simulators didn’t end like that. Only the sims being shut down for a mission failure end like the one they were in just did. Rogue swore as the hatch opened again. He pulled himself out of the simulator and removed his helmet. He tossed his helmet back into the simulator and headed for the bathroom. After making a stop there, and getting a quick bite to eat, he headed back to the simulator room. He removed his helmet from his simulator cockpit and strapped it back onto his head and climbed back into the waiting simulator. The power came back on as he strapped himself in and made ready to go back into combat. He would have to be more careful in this run, since obviously the cruiser had suffered enough damage in the last run to meet the failure conditions. Rogue recognized the escort carrier that Aegis had been on before the last run as the sim loaded the mission. He checked the status of the scimitar bomber it showed him to be in again.  He added flares and a jamming beam this time, in addition to the proton torpedoes. He would go in this time fully loaded for bear and ready to beat this mission and get onto the next one. The mission finished loading and Rogue launched back into the heat of combat once again.   ----------------------- FM/2LT Rogue/Aegis 2-2/mSSD Atrus/VEN/VE/ (=A=)(=SA=)

Rusty slammed the harness of the sim in rage, he was about ready to rip Lone Wolf’s arm out of its socket. He got out, restraining himself from hurting anyone. Lone Wolf could tell that the wookie was agitated and kept his distance, he wanted to keep his arm. Rusty didn’t take any break, just got out took a few deep breaths, and hopped back in the sim. He noticed that he was the first to propel away from the hangar. He saw the Carrack again…he remembered how Lone Wolf messed up last time, and wouldn’t let it happen again. This time, they would take it slow. Quickly he engaged in a dogfight with an X-wing. Rusty’s weak and inaccurate blaster cannon was violently wailing bolts of green around.  He also noticed that he had more than enough fire power to take out this fleet with his warheads alone, Rusty shook his head, trying to concentrate on the X-wing fighter. Finally, one of those little beams of light that had escaped madly from Rustichituk’s laser cannon made contact with the X-Wing’s shield. Rusty knew that this wasn’t going to be easy…and that this would take everyone’s effort, these fighters are much more talented. Rusty needed to dig out the patience inside of him to finish this mission. (OOC: And to make this mission drag out…this is gonna be hard!)

Liquid fumed as he threw his helmet back down on the ground in anger. He was being refueled, and began to feel refreshed as he went about hitting the restrooms and the refresher quickly, and grabbing a quick bite to eat from the snack bar. Liquid grabbed his cracked helmet from the floor, not realizing how strong he was, obviously his Dark Jedi training was paying off. Liquid felt his abdominal muscles, feeling a hard wall. He knew he and JMac had to go out looking for girls next vacation. Liquid grabbed another helmet from the rank, and pushed it onto his head. He climbed into the slightly cramped cockpit of the simulator, and pushed the button that indicated he was ready to go. He pushed forward on the controls and pulled out of the hanger in his now familiar Scimitar bomber. He felt pretty comfortable in this estranged cockpit, probably because of his Force-sensitiveness. He couldn't believe how quickly and effectively he was learning and killing at the same time. He charged up his Ion Cannons and flew over to the Carrack Cruiser and started opening fire, but before he could even see the first bolts from his Ion Cannons hit the shields of the ship, he was noticing his shields go down, little by little, but he was feeling them go down. He didn't quite understand why, how, or what was doing it, but he had a feeling it was a piece of rebel scum. Liquid pulled back on his controls and went into a tight loop, quickly pushing the button for his targeting computer to lock onto the closest fighter to him. He found out it was the leader of the rebel squadron, and he was going after Liquid. It was now his turn to prove who was the better pilot. (OOC: remember, try to hit 300 words with your posts please. we are Aegis, the true elite squadron, we must prove this beyond a reasonable doubt)   ----------------------- ADJ:NTO/IA/EFM/WO1 Liquid/Aegis 3-2 (Aegis Ten)/Wing1 (Pheonix)/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=) TRN/JRN Liquid/TBA/TBA/TBA/VEDJ/VP I am the TO's Adjutant, and the FS's instructor's assistant. The X-Wing that Rusty was chasing took a quick turn around the Carrack, this gave Rusty a quick chance to fire one of his warheads. Rusty waited in anticipation for the missile to make contact with the Carrack’s shield. He winced as the warhead was blown to pieces by the X-Wing he was pursuing, but the explosion tickled the X’s shields. Rusty decided that he would try a few manuevers to get a clear shot at this guy. The Scimitar bomber wasn’t as fast as the interceptors that they had been using in the first mission, and he couldn’t pull as many manuvers as he’d like. So he pulled up next to the X-Wing, trying to slow it down. No chance, he slowed down and jammed the guy’s com. He started shooting a rain of green, just hoping the inaccurate cannon would hit something. A few shots skimmed over the X-Wing, into its shield, lowering it a bit. He had been so concentrated on the one he was shooting at, he hadn’t known about the one on his tail. Rusty took a quick and sudden manuever up into the black space. He took a swing at the Carrack again, with all of the X-Wings elsewhere. He dropped down, speeding toward the Carrack. Rusty knew that with the firepower that each Scimitar was carrying, that they would need to be careful not to over-do it like last time. All they wanted to do was disable the ship, not destroy it. The wookie focused on the carrack as he zoomed towards it, He let another warhead go. He just stared, in anticipation, waiting for the explosion, even if it was just in the shield…

(OOC: were in scimitar assault bombers) LoneWolf couldn’t help but laugh from his failure. As the mission restarted, he began to feel a greater sense of confidence. He could sense something happening in the force, a presence he hadn’t sensed scince… He shrugged it off then focused on his mission. He knew Aegis had a lot of ground to cover still, no matter how much excitement he was picking up from the life field. He began to for up on the two flights that were assigned to disable the carrack. He the ordered against sticky as he could, "flights one and three Do Not Repeat Do Not engage the fighters unless its necessary, we’ll switch off our fighter patterns once the carrack is disabled. Then Flight 2 will commence bombing runs on the landing shuttles after the carrack. Lets do this Aegis Squadron!" LoneWolf knew better than to lock on the charging X-Wing with his torpedo, instead he fired rapid green shots at it. they came out like a repeater rifle shooting at a target. He trailed the shots after the dodging enemy, and countinued weakening the shields. "Not this time!" he growled over the constant noise of banging laser cannons. It wasn’t long for the X-Wing to become a shieldless target, however LoneWolf picked up another enemy and had to disengage. Hopefully this would work better than last time.

Liquid knew that Aegis would never work to complete efficiency in the Scimitar bombers that they had in this mission. Therefore, he knew this mission would be long and hard. Liquid almost lost his focus as one of the rebels came onto his tail and unloaded a few shots into his shields, he turned around, and started firing with his innacurate cannon, trying to at least confuse and bewilder the pilot he was going after. He wished he had his T/A, or at least his modified YT-2000, but sadly, neither of his ships were programmed in this mission, and he had to settle for the hunk of junk he was in now. Liquid pulled sharply on the controls of his craft, hoping to make his movements undeliberant, and random, but, the ship seemed to move with a purpose, and showed the rebel scum that was tailing him exactly which way he was going. "Crap!" Liquid shouted, pushing and pulling the stick in various directions in a futile attempt to lose the pilot that was on his tail. "I got it!" Liquid shouted, pushing the button on his simulated console that transferred energy from the shields to his engines, and he put the engines at max, leaving himself completely exposed, but it was the only way. Liquid pulled hard on his now slightly more manueverable ship, pushing it to it's already set-in-stone limits, and testing his physical strength as well. The sims handled like the real thing, pushing and pulling at several times the regular resistance that one would encounter on a regular planet like Lopen, the Dark Jedi Order planet. Just as he was starting to pull almost as many g's as his body couldn't withstand, he remembered the technique his Master had taught him, focused on his anger, and pulled harder on the stick, making the forces pulling on him increase by at least 5 times. He focused his anger on directing his green laser bolts, and fired upon the rebel scum that was now in front of his craft, the shields of the rebel failed when Liquid was .4 clicks away from him, and by the time he was at .3, the scum was dissolved into a pile of space dust. "Woo-Hoo!" Liquid shouted, as Rusty flew in close to his new Flight Leader.

(guys remember to elongate this story as much as possible!) The Carrack cruiser remained even more stubborn than before, knocking out warheads meant to disable it’s fighting spirit. LoneWolf still held out dispute the close to overwhelming odds, his orders stood as law and though his squad mates were harassed they continued on their assault. Aegis five swooped behind an X-Wing shooting at one of LoneWolf’s bombers. As a reminder LoneWolf fired a Torpedo at the fighter showing him that he was in a bomber too. He swung his craft on an attack vector at the cruiser, he took a pass firing a couple shots to lower the shields. After picking up a tail he swung back and fired a blind torp at the carrack, he knew he had a chance of causing damage like before but the shields looked healthy enough to take it. the carrack buckled under the presure, yet remained defensable with  eighty-seven percent shields. LoneWolf took his ship at a pass on a pair of X-Wings too close to each other to care. he fired a torp behind his men then watched it hit one then perform splash damage on the other. LoneWolf felt a satisfaction for getting one and another one bare on shields. "Get that carrack then we’ll dance with these stubborn X’s!"

Rusty soon learned that his warhead had not made contact. He swore violently, as he pulled up next to Liquid. He decided that instead of wasting his warheads now, that he would let some laser blasts go. He rapidly blasted at the Carrack cruiser, he hadn’t done much. The Shields had been set at two hundred-fifty percent. He glanced at his computer, the shield read, 248%. “This thing won’t go down easily” Rusty spat under his breath. He made a U-Turn, and came back at the ship, he fired another warhead. This one had made contact, the shield lowered to 240%. In turn for that, an X-Wing caught up, ready to blow him to pieces. He pulled off some quick, erratic maneuvers to try and shake him, but no use. He needed so shake this guy, so he pulled off a barrel-roll, pulled up, and turned back the other way…he had lost the X. He bombarded the Carrack with some more green, barely doing anything, but he didn’t want to waste all of his warheads (or make the same foolish mistake of Lone Wolf…) He was hit from behind, taking his shield down a bit, one of the transport ships had hit his Scimitar. Rusty felt angry, he didn’t like this mission. The ships were stubborn, we couldn’t take out the X-Wings first, it was just starting to piss him off. He didn’t like the idea of a bunch of people used to Tie Advanced Fighters, running around in these sluggish and clunky Scimitars. He almost just left the mission there, he was fed up with the crappy mission. He wanted his Toscan 8-Q, he didn’t like the feel of this ship…but, he kept going anyway, for the good of the Aegis Squadron.

Liquid smiled as he passed by JMac, making sure he saw the look in his eyes. Liquid knew of his previous FL's damnation of the worst kind. He had transferred out of Aegis for a "better" position in the Navy. That bastard. Liquid fumed as he saw his friend flyby, giving the thumbs up sign meaning to go along with the mission. Liquid sighed as he knew what he must do. "JMac, if you get shotdown, don't bother coming back. If you're gonna desert us sooner or later, it might as well be sooner." Liquid said, leveling his fighter with JMac's cockpit. Liquid fired off several bursts of laser fire from his unnacurate cannons. He knew this just wasn't gonna cut it. He loaded his torpedoes, and fired a locking torpedo at JMac, making sure that it would hit it's target. JMac weaved and dodged, bobbed here and there, but in this sluggish ship that he wasn't used to, he couldn't get away from the now closer than ever torpedo. He just commed over to Liquid "I couldn't help it, I had ord..," he was cut off by the explosion. Liquid gritted his teeth. That was one of the hardest things he had ever done in his life. But, it had to be done. Liquid knew that he couldn't fly next to JMac for much longer, and besides, it was common for Dark Jedi to have conflicts amongst themselves. Liquid knew they would settle this later over a game of pool, but for now, he had more pressing matters.   (OOC: Edit: You're welcome DH!) ----------------------- ADJ:NTO/IA/EFM/WO1 Liquid/Aegis 3-2 (Aegis Ten)/Wing1 (Pheonix)/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=) TRN/JRN Liquid/TBA/TBA/TBA/VEDJ/VP I am the TO's Adjutant, and the FS's instructor's assistant. (LOL i couldn't have done it better Liquid!) LoneWolf searched over to the debris of Jmac, "Shoot! we lost Aegis 9! Liquid take his position!" Laughter echoed through the channel and deep down LoneWolf knew what had happened he added coldly over the channel, "Good Shot! That’ll teach em to mess around with aegis!" LoneWolf realized that with Jmac gone odds even out against them again, only four fighters had been taken out, from twelve. The shields on the Carrack reached sixty-four percent, it wasn’t till then LoneWolf realized the name, Rebel’s Catch. LoneWolf growled at the cockiness the computer showed then took out the shields of yet another careless X-Wing. This Time LoneWolf decided to take a few of the rebels to intercept the newly arrived Republic Landing Shuttles. His tail danced with everyone of his moves, it wasn’t long for him to reach lock range on one of the craft. The beeps continued until a continuous hum and green crosshairs. That was more than a welcome LW needed. Two linked torpedoes hurtled at the shuttle and sent it into a dangerous spin, at the same moment LW pulled his countermeasure to hit an X-Wing behind him. LoneWolf grinned as he took another torpedo shot stripping the shields from one of the shuttles. He then focused on the fighters once again.

Liquid sighed as he saw the rebel landing shuttles appear from seamingly nowhere, he knew that he had to make this mission last, but yet, he could take them all out with one torpedo in the tight formation they were flying. This was gonna take some definite awesome flying to get the rebel shuttles out of space, and into the junkyard. Liquid flew his sluggish craft with purpose now, leading his Flight Members into a deadly dance with the rebel landing craft. He knew it was dangerous to attack head on like this, but, he didn't want to waste his torpedoes on such a trivial target. Liquid smiled as his comm jumped to life, JMac's obscene voice on the other side, demanding an answer for his actions. "Sir, you no longer serve Aegis, why do you deserve the privledge of flying with us?" Liquid replied, a tone of cockyness in his voice. "Yes, but I could've at least finished this mission," JMac replied, growing irritated with his friend. "Besides sir, it was at the request of Com. Darkhawk that you be taken out of the sims." Liquid said, dodging a few stray bolts of red rebel fire. "Oh, ok," JMac replied, turning off his com and climbing out of the simulator's hatch.

Rogue continued to work on the pesky X-wing that was in front of him.  He had managed to burn down its shields and get a couple of hits on its shield generator and astromech so far.  He had his lasers firing as fast as they could cycle. This meant less power in each bolt but more bolts fired in a time period. Finally he managed to get a good couple of hits on the X-wing’s upper starboard engine, turning it into slag.  He kept firing as the X-wing tried to keep dancing across space with Rogue trying to stay on its tail.  Then he got a meaningful hit, as laser blast raced up the X-wing’s fuselage, from the nose to the cockpit. Several bolts even penetrated the cockpit and the pilot’s body. The X-wing continued on its course with the remaining engines still going despite the dead pilot. Since the astromech had been destroyed, it couldn’t stop the ship or change its course. Then Rogue looked ahead and mentally projected its flight path. In horror, he saw that if it maintained its course, it would slam into the cruiser near the stern, near where LW’s torpedo hit in the last run.  Rogue realized he had to blow up the X-wing or change its course. He made a hard turn to port to open the range, then turned back toward the X-wing and matched its speed.  He hoped a pair of torpedoes fired from the right angle would destroy the X-wing and blow the debris onto a trajectory that will clear the cruiser. He linked his torps as he angled slightly toward the dying X-wing and locked onto its main fuselage, right where the astromech slot is. He watched the lock-on indicator go green and fired. Two bright blue torpedoes shot out and raced to the X-wing hitting almost dead on the aiming spot, amidships. The force of the torpedoes explosion almost completely incinerated the X-wing.  Rogue gunned his Scimitar and flew through the remains of the X-wing with thousands of micro-sized bits from the X-wing pelting his shields, some even managing to get through and bounce of his hull.  Then Rogue got hit by the bad luck again. One sliver of metal somehow managed to pierce the cockpit transparsteel. A crack immediately followed as the little air that was in the cockpit was sucked out through the hole around the steel piece. Rogue immediately noticed the rushing air sound and sealed his flight suit and helmet as fast as he could. He managed to save some of his air. He hoped it would be enough to make it back to the carrier. He was in the process of calling Lonewolf on the comm, when he realized he was only in a simulator. So he opened his helmet some to get some air, and he heard/felt the air being sucked from his helmet. Someone had actually vented his simulator since it was sealed. He resealed his helmet and went to full oxygen on the helmet/suit intake to repressurize. This sim was being taken a little far, Rogue thought, but he would stick it out and hope that someone would put air back into his simulator, or the mission got completed and the carrier arrived to pick them up before he ran out of air. He checked his life support system and found that he had about 45 minutes of air left then that was it.

Rouge came over the channel with static poisoning his voice, "-repeat I have forty-five minutes of air left!" LoneWolf clicked his comm, "Gotcha Rouge well get this done before then." LoneWolf checked the fighter screen down to seven though still a greater force it continued to have greater damages on the individual craft. As a prayer for their hope though the shields gave on the carrack after a relentless attack. It would be only couple of hits until it was disabled. LoneWolf shot a couple of shots at a dodging X-Wing, it weaved intricate patterns daring LW to hit it. LoneWolf didn’t waste his time shooting a torp at it. The X flew to the right then weaved into the torp by persuasion of LW’s lasers. It had been a while but LW finally checked his status, he nearly but the bomber into a spin after seeing his shields were gone. LW dumped the shield energy then began to make the heavy lady dodge around from fire. Growing up LW first learned how to pilot an X-Wing later he became a deadly pilot in a Y-Wing being able to destroy Tie Advanced before they could perform maneuvers. Later on he mastered the Imperial Gunboat then the tie series, he had perfected making bombers into fighters, and the scimitar was a perfect combination. LoneWolf grinned as the half a squadron formed defensively around the remaining three transports.

Liquid cackled as he drew in close to the carrack cruiser, pushing the button for the torpedoes as he came in closer and closer. Before he knew it, he had launched over 5 torpedoes into the cruiser's shields, and they quickly jumped from 50% down to 32%, but, only 4 of the torpedoes had hit. Liquid knew he should fly back and help the rest of his squad before he completely disabled the cruiser. Liquid flew in a tight zig-zag, hoping to draw some of the stupid X-wing pilots towards him with his taunting manuevers. It worked, soon, Liquid had almost too much for him to handle on his tail, and was dodging here and there, trying to not die in the simulator. Liquid looked at his ship's status. "Damn!" he shouted, noticing that his shields were gone. "This really sucks!" Liquid knew he could only take one of the rebels with him to the dead zone, so he chose the one that was firing the most, figuring he was the biggest threat. Liquid pulled back on the controls, making his Scimitar pull a tight loop and come down onto the rebel craft, hoping that his hull would hold better than the rebel's, and being right on the money. His simulator shut down, and Liquid popped the hatch, heading for a cold drink while he waited his turn to get back in there.   ----------------------- ADJ:NTO/IA/EFM/WO1 Liquid/Aegis 3-2 (Aegis Ten)/Wing1 (Pheonix)/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=) TRN/JRN Liquid/TBA/TBA/TBA/VEDJ/VP I am the TO's Adjutant, and the FS's instructor's assistant. Kain woke from his deep slumber as his YF-19 exited hyperspace back to realspace.  He gave out a yawn and stretched out his arms. Looking ahead he saw the Super Star Destroyer Atrus, he reduced his speed to 75% and headed towards the hangar. Upon landing his YF-19, Kain made his way out of the cockpit and was greeted by a naval officer.  The officer gave an update on the events that he missed while he was back home. Kain looked surprised when the officer mentioned an Elite Squadron Competition, after the complete update Kain saluted the officer and walked towards his living quarters. The doors hissed as the doors slid open.  Kain entered his room and looked around.  Nothing has changed since the last time he was in here. I guess I should join the rest of my squadron in the competition, they might need my help. Kain thought to himself. He put down some things that he brought pack from his trip on the desk and left the room. Kain began to walk towards the simulators, he saw JMac "walking towards the lounge. "Hey JMac! Long time no see!" Kain yelled towards JMac. "Yo Kain! Where have you been?" JMac replied back. "I went back home, on Cepany.  Had a couple of family matters to take care of." "Oh, I see...well are you staying here for good now?" "Yeah I'm staying for good now. Everything got resolved back at home. So how's Aegis doing in the competition so far?" "We're not doing so hot...Viper is in the lead right now by almost double our score." "Ouch, well I'm going to join them, Hopefully we can turn the tide of this competition." "Alight Kain, I'll see ya in the next sim, got killed in this one so I'm going to the lounge and hang out till the next one,  Good luck." "Thanks, see you later." Kain entered the simulator room and saw that only four members are in the sim right now, that meant that half the squadron was destroyed.  He entered one of the simulators and started the sim, but before the sim started Sk8 face popped up on the HUD screen. "Hey Kain how's it going? Haven't seen you for awhile." Sk8 said. "Been busy, but now I'm back and ready for some action." Kain replied. "Good, I'll send you into the sim now. Good luck...and its good to see you again." Sk8's face disappeared, then the sim started. Hmm lets see here... one badly injured Carrack Cruiser and... half a squadron of X-Wings. Alright then lets get ready to rock. This is going to be easy." LoneWolf looked at his mission record screen, he saw another ship enter real space, though the bombers don’t have hyperdrives, that was how a ship was brought into the battle. LoneWolf chuckled and teased whom he thought was liquid, "So your ready to give us a hand after butchering Jmac huh?" a strange voice came back though, one that LoneWolf hadn’t heard scince awhile ago. "I don’t know why you would think I would shoot Jmac Down LoneWolf, but if it comforts you I’ll stop that X-Wing from eating at your hull!" LoneWolf realized he had picked up a X-Wing, "Man! Am I getting careless?" twin green bolts wiped the shieldless fighter from his sensors then managed to ask in an awe, "Is… is that you Kain?" kain’s visored face came up on his comm screen, "you bet! It’s good to be back I understand you got yourself quite a reputation in this squadron?"  LoneWolf couldn’t help but chukled, "We’ll talk about that later, right now we gotta break that fighter defense around those three Sentinel Landing crafts, and get that cruiser disabled. We’ll have this job done in no time!" "And you want me todo what?" LoneWolf glanced around, "For this mission just help me clear the rest of those 5 fighters, they may be small numbers left but their good! If any of the flights needs your help give it" Kain nodded then added, "you got it!"

Liquid had bumped into a not so familiar face walking for the lounge, and he greeted him with a salute, for he wore the insignia of a 2nd Lt. Liquid saluted back, and asked for his callsign. "What's your callsign sir?" Liquid asked, hoping it wasn't some new recruit impersonating an officer. "I'm Kain, former Commanding Officer of Aegis, and now I'm just a member rejoining the Elite squadron." Kain said, looking over the new guy. "What flight are you in?" Liquid asked, hoping that he would be in his. "I'm in flight 3, and I'm headed for the sims as we speak." Kain replied, getting annoyed that this young officer was holding him up. "Well, looks like I'm your Flight Leader then, welcome back to Aegis sir," he replied, saluting his new, but old, member. "Well don't that just beat all," Kain replied, looking unhappy that he had to serve a young pilot in Aegis. Liquid rushed off to the lounge, he only had a few more moments before he could re-enter the mission, and he desperately wanted to get back in there. After he had gotten a cold Correlian Whiskey, he walked back to the simulator room, not knowing what to expect. He spyed noone in the room, and all the sims but his powered up and online. "Ah crap," thought Liquid, looking at his watch, "I'm gonna miss all the fun." Liquid jumped back into his sim and powered up, ready for the onslaught of the mission.

"Alright lets get rockin." Kain said over the comlink. Just then another Scimitar Bomber exited hyperspace only a couple of kilometers away from the rest of Aegis Squadron. "Hey guys this is Liquid, I just got back from the lounge." Said Liquid with renewed vigor in his voice. "Hey Liquid this is Second Liutenant Kain Rennok, I'm under your command right now. Looks like Lonewolf wants us to clear out the rest of the X-Wings for him. Is that alright with you sir?" Kain asked. "Lets do then, Rusty form up, we'll attack those two X-Wings. Kain you can probably take care of your self... get that X-Wing over there, he's really good but you can probably handle it." Liquid said boastingly. "Yes sir." Kain replied with a grin. Kain broke off from flight three and engaged the lone X-Wing head on. Kain lined up the targeting cursor with the X-Wing, once it was in range he knew that the X-Wing will fire at him and he'll fire back at the X-Wing. They were 2 km apart and closing in fast, Kain waited for the beep that indicated the ship was in range...BEEEP...Kain squeezed the trigger, letting out volleys of green laser fire out. Kain juked out of the way to avoid the red laser fire from the X-Wing. Kain tried to line up the X-Wing again and fired his laser cannons before it could zoom past him. He only got off a couple of shots on the X-Wing, dropping its shields to 76%. As the X-Wing flew past him Kain vut his throttle by 66% and banked hard right. Now he was behind the X-Wing, he lined the X-Wing within his cursor and fired his cannons...moments later after the green laser cannons connected with the fuselage of the X-Wing, the fighter exploded. Kain pulled up and rejoined his other two flight members. "Hey Kain we got two X-Wings left, and it looks like they're trying to flee from us. Lets go get them." Liquid said "What about the Carrack Cruiser and the remaining transports sir?" Kain asked. "Lonewolf and his flight is handling that right now. Flight two is getting those transports out of the way. He'll give us new orders if he needs our help. For now we'll need to get rid of those two X-Wings, then we'll hang back and watch out for anymore surprises." JMac was irritated not so much by Liquid shooting him down as a symbolic seperation of him and the squadron as by Liquid managing to shoot him down.  Still, he had learned a lot in Aegis, and was going to miss flying with them.  That did not mean that he wouldn't get even with Liquid, but he wouldn't nail the rest of the squadron. With a last look around the quarters that he had shared with Liquid, he grabbed his pack and headed off down the corridor.  His footsteps echoed hollowly as he walked up the empty corrider towards the hanger bay.  Most of the squadrons were either still in the sims or were hanging out in the lounge. JMac ran through the preflight checklist on the Night Stalker quickly, then requested clearence for departure.  That granted, he eased his fighter out of the bay and into the blackness of space.  With the pull of a lever, he was in hyperspace. Later Aegis.

Falling into formation with LoneWolf and Rogue, PJ switched his weapons to proton torpedoes. Targeting the nearest transport the Aegis pilot increased his throttle to full and began to chase what was left of the escaping transports. In the corner of his eye, he couple see his flightmates doing the same. As the trio of fighters advanced into firing range, PJ prepared to launch his warheads. Suddenly, the transport opened it's guns and unleashed a fury of turbolaser blasts. Bobbing and weaving, he slipped out of their path. Being forced to concentrate on staying alive, PJ's trigger finger sat waiting for the chance to arise. With another roll, he saw his chance and fired his first torpedo...only to watch the transport's lasers blow it out of the sky. As he continued to advance, PJ watched as the other Aegis pilots were fairing no better. "Aegis 5, this Aegis 6...I can't get any of my shots through," Rogue's voice said over the comm. "Copy that Six, I haven't had any better luck." Thinking back, PJ tried to recall any way in which they could avoid the turbolasers and still hit their target. Preferably without getting right in close to the transport. Seeing that their target was not moving all that fast...the lock wasn't all that hard to achieve... "Five, Eight here...try this..." PJ rolled again and aimed his launcher just to the right of the transport before targeting another craft in the area, rolling and firing a blind warhead at his target. As the turbolasers continued to fire at the bombers, the torpedo slid in unnoticed until it was too late. A small explosion, rocked the transport... "WooHoo!" PJ let out a wail as the warhead hit the target. Following suit, his flightmates scored hits as well...damaging the nearest craft.

Liquid smiled as he saw PJ's plan work perfectly. He couldn't help but be in awe, that is, until he felt the enemy fire lighting up his shields. Liquid began evasive manuevers, trying to make seemingly random movements. His tail wasn't falling for it though, and stayed glued to Liquid's tail, not wanting to take the chance of getting killed again, he pulled his craft into a tight loop, and noticing how close the enemy craft was following, dropped a flare into his flight path. He smiled to himself as the X-wing flew directly into the flare, and it exploded through the transperisteel of the craft, hitting the pilot in the helmet and making his craft do a wild nose-dive towards the cruiser before it was blown up by it's own friendly fire. They definetely didn't want the cruiser being damaged by it's own ships, and they then directed their fire at Liquid. The agile pilot looped and weaved, dodged and darted, trying anything and everything to avoid the red laser fire that was coming from the rebel cruiser. He couldn't move fast enough though, his shields were taking damage, and they weren't gonna hold out much longer. Liquid turned and fired a few proton torpedoes towards the cruiser, hoping they wouldn't detect them as they were locking onto Liquid, concentrating a lot of their laser fire on him. Suddenly Liquid had an idea. "Flight 3, focus your attacks on the cruiser, and do it while i'm drawing the majority of their fire, i'll try to hold out as long as i can! now, move, move move!!" Liquid shouted into his comm, hearing a few of the proton torpedoes being blown up in midair. "Yessir," Rusty replied, already on course for the rebel ship. "Right away sir," Kain said, firing a torpedo along with laser fire from his Scimitar Bomber.
