The surface of Naboo was always a sight to see. Covered by swamps, seas filled with variant creatures, mountains and grass plains. A beautiful world as the ship came out of hyperspace. Weeks of planning, had been worth it as the ship captain  announced their arrival.  Iron Horse was  thrilled to be off on a well earned vacation. Moods were light and chipper as  the ship came down through the atmosphere.

Everyone was dressed in civilian garb and had their duffel bags stuffed full. The Squad Leader was hoping it was just clothing, but she knew better and didn't want to ask the guys of the group.  Aeos and Lucky, looked comfortable and there was no need to ask what they had in their bags. The one thing no one had was their armor. It was a vacation after all. Trying to keep who they were a secret meant no armor. Closing her eyes for a moment,  she tried to collect her thoughts when the guys made an uproar. Saphira turned her attention around to find the boys laughing and cracking open  a can of trooper  beer as they played a card game. That answers at least one of the things they snuck in their bags.

"Looks like the fun is already starting." Lucky mused. Saph laughed and shook her head.

"As long as they don't think they can tangle with an underwater creature, why not?" Saphira replied.

Another reason why they decided to stay far away from the major city and the ocean. At least they  would be able to see the Gallo Mountains from where they were going to be at. They would have plenty of places for hiking and site seeing as well as swimming by a nearby lake. Deciding to pause the guys' game before they got a little too out of hand, she  walked over and grabbed the drinks out of their hands.

"You'll get these back in a moment. I need you to listen." The twi'lek gave a smile. MadMan, JB and Bellator just sighed. "When we land, there's going to be plenty of things to do.  We already have reservations at the Jah Inn. You all have your own rooms, so whenever you're wanting to check in is up to you."

The ship bounced and shook a little as they then came to their destination. Rumbling of the engines had ceased and the snap hiss of the bay doors then opened. The squad was greeted by a gentle wind and sweet fragrances in the air as the sun was shining down at near high noon.

"Lake Jah has allot to offer us. Take the time to relax and have fun. I read up they have a great restaurant here. Or what they say is one." Lucky spoke up. "There's also the hiking trails and sights. Try not to just stay in the cantina." Lucky winked. Ae just seemed to roll her eyes with amusement.

"Alright, whatever." Madman replied as he grabbed his drink, and took his things before walking out and down the ramp. Not before giving Saph a mischievous look.  One thing was for sure, twenty-six hours was going to be a heck of allot longer then a twenty-four hour rotation.

"Just one thing. Let's all meet for drinks at the hotel at 2100." Saphira called out to everyone as they started to leave.

Lucky leapt off the ship and onto land. She didn't mind shuttle rides but sometimes she was glad the ride was over and today was one of those days.

Once on the ground she checked to make sure that the duffel she had grabbed on the fly was really hers; and it was. When she was satisfied that all her things seemed in order, she decided she'd go on a short walk before heading off to the hotel.

There didn't seem to be much she could do then and there, the town was a fairly good size, she wanted to call it a small city almost. Off in the distance she could see mountain peaks and not far from those, trails disappeared off into the distance. Lucky could tell right away that she was going to thoroughly enjoy herself here.

Not wanting to waste any more time, she made her way to the hotel, checked in and was handed her room key. Her room was located on the third floor, from the number on the key "329", something told her that her room would be somewhere on the left-hand side.

She felt tired all of a sudden, drained was the proper word maybe. Deciding against doing any fun activities right that minute, she opted for a nap.

It was the sand again, old friend…old enemy. He honestly didn’t fancy swimming a whole lot – too wet for his liking, only went in when it was necessary and only when it was necessary. The heat wasn’t much of a bother either, nothing like the giant sandball that was Tattooine.  Madman reluctantly stepped foot off the ship, garbed up in hardly what one might expect another to use as ‘beachwear’. From head to toe he wore earthy colored pants and a shirt with a trenchcoat hanging off of his broad form. The sandy, grainy, mass did it’s work at chiseling nostalgia into his thick skull and some of it was good, much of it was bad, and a tiny bit he couldn’t quite tell. His other squad mates acted very strangely, he watched them through the shade of a cowl to examine them.

To be honest, he only felt a thrill in battle and at this moment he was a tad shy from feeling like her were dead and empty. Though that was alright, he always had his personality and no one could take that away from him ever. As he watched as the many strong to fresh imperials flocked the shore, the stretch of beach populated by the indigenous humans that littered the shoreline. It was so strange, was it the water? The Hear? Or the Sand? He didn’t much care at this point, they’re actions were much more fascinating at this point. Though he did recall something about having to check into a room at the hotel but as far as he was concerned, he could subsist on the outside. Was it safe? No safer than wearing Stormtrooper armor and catching a couple blaster bolts in the shank.

Though who knows? Perhaps a little leisure wouldn’t hurt…no it would hurt, damage the honed skills he had managed to work on with every mission. Everything just seemed…frivolous.

She flicked the dead butt from her fingers and stamped on it with the heel of her boot to kill any remaining spark. They had just landed and already the calm serenity of this lake had her at unease. Nothing could be this calm. She narrowed her eyes and scoped her surroundings as she hauled her duffel bag over her shoulder and started making way through the village.
Bargain driving at the food stalls and the noise of squabbles from the small cantina was taking place indicating all the right noises for a rural village to possess. All seemed normal so far.

Aeos interrupted her cautious stroll to light up another cigarette. Damn boring peaceful villagers. Then again. Peace was good she tried to coax her mind.  She followed one of the Horsies in front’s back to the hotel. Lucky clocked in and Aeos was next.

“Room thirty-seven Captain.” The attendant said stiffly as he handed her pass.
“Would there be anything you require?”
“Send some food up Mister. “she ordered over her shoulder. She threw her duffelbag at one of the boys who stumbled at the sudden unexpected weight while she made her ways to the lift.
“You coming boy?” she asked with a strong grin, cigarette clenched between the teeth on the side.

Finally reaching her room, she tosses the boy some credit coins and closed the door. The room was simple enough though the view was spectacular. Glowing ice-tipped mountains with crystal clear lake framed in deep green grass planes- She closed the curtains abruptly and activated the florescent lighting. She unclipped the side-bag to her duffel-bag and started setting up some of personal equipment. Nothing drastic, but she had to stay on top of her game not to mention all the work the STCA was piling up with. Being on vacation or bonding with the Horsies didn’t mean she could afford to lose time from Kand’s homework.

A knock sounded from the door and Aeos activated the door. A food trolly was pushed it by an R2 model.
“Hope that came with extra cream.” She muttered.

After waking from her short nap, Lucky felt up to a trip down at the cantina. Grabbing her room key, she exited her room and went down to the lobby where she had something to eat, chowing down the food quickly she put a few creds on the table before leaving the hotel.

The villagers were quiet, activity had both lessened and slowed since she had walked the streets earlier. People must be heading in for the day....y Nonetheless this quietness made her feel uneasy, it was much better than people setting buildings on fire with firebombs or other such tools but it still seemed kind of quiet for this hour in the day.

Finally arriving at the cantina, she found it to be not too quiet, a few people were either sitting on stools or at tables. Soft music was playing, to her ear sounded like oldies of some sort. She liked it like this, not too quiet but not that empty neither. Buying her drink, she went off to an empty table and took a seat, waiting to see if any of her squad mates would be entering the cantina this fine evening.

OOC:
Sounds god Ae. Sorry for short post, I can't do much when I'm hungry and I can't go down and eat since it's 9:50PM and snacking at this hour here is unheard of when most are sleeping, plus the guys with fireworks just came out for their nightly party. So...

As Lucky was sitting around in the cantina, her data pad buzzed; it was High Command informing herself and Saphira that they had a new recruit by the name of Atoll on his way to meet them. Deciding at that moment that the guys could wait around for her for a change, she got up from her seat and went to meet the shuttle which was already presumably underway.

As she reached the landing pad, she could hear the very faint buzzing of engines coming her way; a few moments later she could just barely make out a small shuttle headed for the pad I wonder if this is the new recruit or if it's just more people coming here to vacation

Shifting her weight from foot to foot with anticipation, she waited impatiently as the shuttle pilot took is time lowering the ramp, the thud of heavy boots could be heard and soon enough a young man was standing in front of her at attention.

"Greetings, Private! I'm Sergeant Major Luckystar, the Assistant squad Leader of Iron Horse squad. If you'll come with me I'll introduce you to the rest of the squad and you can get settled into your hotel room afterwards if you like, some of us will be at the cantina so feel free to join us if you're up to it."

As they walked away from the shuttle with his gear, she wondered if he was of the silent type as he hadn't said a word wince arriving.

"Relax, we're on a short vacation right now so take your time to meet the guys and have fun" she told him with a bright, reassuring smile.

Talohn nodded stiffly at the Major as she beckoned for him to follow her. They walked from the landing pad and already Talohn could see the renowned picturesque landscape of Naboo. He had heard from many people about the planet's beauty. Waterfalls, lush green plains. The Gallo mountains.

In all honesty, Talohn was a little surprised. He hadn't expected to be on a vacation just after getting placed. Though I suppose I need to mend my ego from my time in the academy, he thought ruefully. An image of a ridiculous festive suit popped into his head, causing him to wince slightly. The Major had been there too. Although she probably didn't wear the armor. He couldn't remember. Then, Talohn had a thought.

"Excuse me, ma'am" Talohn said to Lucky.

"Yes?"

"Would you mind if I go and check into my room first?"

"Not at all. And there's no need to be so formal. We're on vacation. Relax."

"Yes..." It was with extreme difficulty that Talohn didn't say the next word.

Lucky chuckled. She evidently noticed his trouble with being imformal. "Just so you know, we'll be meeting for drinks at 2100." she said.

"I'll be there." he said, turning around smartly and heading for the front desk. The hotel was quite fancy, most likely very expensive and modern compared to other hotels. But Talohn wouldn't have been an expert on this particular subject. He had been in far too few luxurious places such as this. After walking through a few more halls expensively decorated in undoubtedly the latest fashions, he neared the desk which a receptionist was sitting idly.

"And you are...?" he said in a dull, dreary voice.

"One of the army staying here."

"Ah, well then." He turned around in his chair for a second before turning back and handing Talohn a pass. "Room number 242."

Talohn nodded at him. He headed for his room but was stopped by a boy who offered to carry his duffelbag for him. Talohn refused bluntly and kept strolling onwards. Upon reaching his room, he flung his duffelbag onto the bed and stared out of the window. Enormous snow-capped mountains greeted him, reaching into the blue, cloudless sky. A beautiful lake surrounded by verdant rolling plains, with all types of animals grazing and dozing lazily on it.

Talohn turned from the view, sitting himself down on the bed. Sleep first. I'll get drunk later, he thought. He hated shuttles. He could never get to sleep on it. And they always made his neck hurt afterwards for some reason he had yet to recognise.

Talohn sighed, lying down on the bed and within minutes, he was fast asleep.

Watching the others walk of, Saphira had only sighed with slight relief.  Hoping the vacation would simmer everyone down from being tossed from mission to mission. If people didn't get a break one in a while, they would go mad.  It was much like being on a ship. Being kept cooped up all the time and one could go insane if the Captain didn't let the troops have shore leave.

Well, let's hope everyone settles down and really gets to know one another. Saphira thought as she hefted her duffel bag over her shoulder and  walked down the ramp.  Her eyes flickered about to those who were passing by. No one  paid her mind and it was just as well to her. With the gentle breeze  flowing around her, the Twi'lek walked  down the carved path and decided to check into her room first.

Wanting to rid herself of the burden of the bag, she smiled lightly and  walked into the hotel. The person at the desk, seemed to already be waiting for her and any others. For a key card was already in hand as she walked up.

"Afternoon Miss. Seems most of your group has already arrived." Giving her a toothy smile as he pressed the card into her hand. Saphira tried not to shudder. "Room 36 is yours. Can I get you anything? Anything at all?"

"Spare me.." Saphira grumbled under  her breath as she pulled her hand back. Resisting the temptation to wipe it against her thigh.

"Excuse me? I didn't  catch what you said." He smiled again.

"Nothing. Just thinking. I'll be fine for now. Thank you." Saphira replied as the man winked at her. Note to self.. lock the doors and stay away from him She thought walking away. The man was obviously a pervert. At least no one from the squad had seen that little exchange.

Madman would have been preferred then over the man working the counter. Scary thought as she bit her lower lip and found her room. Quickly, she went in and latched the door shut. Old habits die hard as she searched her room for any bugs or recording devices. She didn't trust the man at all not to have something like that installed. The last thing she wanted was him to have visual aids. Once she was satisfied that the room was "safe", Saphira, decided a quick shower was in order.

If they were all going to meet for some drinks, she at least didn't want to feel gritty from the flight over.  It didn't take her long from the shower. Just enough to feel clean as she knew she would go search out for a hot tub later in the evening.

"Perhaps I can get the girls for a girls only." Muttering to herself as she changed into clean clothes and put her other stuff up and away.  No need to keep everything in the cramped bag. After she was done, Saph decided to walk out and go find something to eat. By the time she was done, it would be time for everyone to meet for drinks.

She was drawing lazily with her one index finger on the round table which she had booked earlier.

“Gah!”

Aeos looked at to the noise of disturbance and grinned at Atoll who was also making his way into the cantina by now.

Lazy jazz was fluting in electronic beats around them through blaring speakers adding more to the chill atmosphere Saphire sought for the squad. She gestured the new recruit to take a seat opposite her and held her pack of sabaac cards to him.

The recruit was obviously very much intimidated to be now a fellow comrade of the woman who had put him through his training. She liked the trooper recognizing in him a sense of honor and code she herself carried. The reluctance with which he had affronted rioters without any weaponry but the loyalty with which he had done it stood out.  It would be interesting to see what his journey will turn out to be.

“Ya up for a game Mister?” she asked nicking him the generic she gave to almost everyone else around her. Mister or Miss.

“Sure.” He muttered reluctantly. He grabbed chair closer and made himself comfortable with her cards.

“Wanna play on drinks?”

Atoll glanced at Aeos with a shocked expression. She kept her face neutral. She wasn’t much of a drinker, but they both needed a slight ice-breaker till the rest of the squad arrived.
He nodded with a frown.

Just then suddenly a massive yet lazy hand clamped down on Aeos’ shoulder. A waft of drunken stupor bellowed laughter into her ear.

“I want to play too. We can play for a piece of her boy.”
Aeos calmly glanced over at Atoll gauging his reaction. She was curious.

Talohn eyed the man. Clearly, he was heavily intoxicated. He was swaying back and forth, his eyes were glazed over and he was wearing a stupid grin on his face. It was a surprise he was able to stand up at all. His former Drill Instructor was looking calmly at him, obvious curious to his reaction.

"Friend, you clearly are not yourself. I wouldn't want to take advantage of your... current state." he said, watching as the man's face scrunched up in what evidently was supposed to be anger. Instead, it looked like he was in extreme discomfort.

"I am not your friend! And I've been playing sabacc for years! You can't beat me!"

"I'm not going t--"

"You're just scared. You know you'll lose. You're a coward."

At the last word, an image of a tall man towering over him flashed into Talohn's mind, causing him to flinch slightly. The man caught sight of the minute movement and smiled widely. Obviously, he had believed that he had frightened the trooper.

"Fine." Talohn said, gritting his teeth. The man's insult had hit home. He had insulted his honour and used the word he most hated, riling Talohn into a cold fury. If this man wanted to play, he'd play. By the end, Talohn vowed, he'd regret challenging him.

The man smiled widely again, showing disgusting bright-yellow teeth and what Talohn was sure was a piece of smoked nerf stuck between his teeth. Talohn grimaced. The man sat down at the table, pulling out a set of sabacc cards. Talohn shook his head at them.

"No. Those cards" he gestured to Ae's deck "or no game."

The man glared at him, looking fit to attack him, but refrained himself. He stowed the cards back in his pocket and waited as Ae dealt the cards. The droid in the centre of the table hummed expectantly. Talohn activated it.

"Please place bets into Main pot and Sabacc pot." it said.

"Beginning bets?" Talohn asked.

"50 credits. Each." the man said.

Talohn placed his credits into both pots, before sitting back expectantly. The electronic cards burst into life, giving him a measy hand of the 2 of Flasks and Commander of Staves. Talohn's face remained expressionless. As did the man's. Despite his drunkeness, he seemed to be able to keep a straight face. Obviously, he was quite accomplished at this.

"I raise." said the man, putting an extra 50 credits into the Main Pot.

Talohn put another 50 into the pot as well. And so it continued, with the man betting ever increasing amounts until, combined, the Main Pot and Sabacc pot was at least 700 credits. Talohn was bluffing his way through it. He still had his terrible hand, with the added benefit of a not-so-helpful 1 of Sabers. And his misfortune was showing. A bead of sweat was falling down his brow. Noticing this, after the last round of betting, the man said:

"I call." he said, wearing an even more stupid grin than before. He had downed at least two more pints since they started and his speech was getting even more slurred. But this time, Talohn could tell it wasn't only intoxication that was the cause of his grinning. It was a smug grin, a triumphant one. Talohn was in trouble. He could tell he had a good hand. And Talohn still had his measly little o--

"Sabacc shift" the droid beeped.

Talohn cards shifted. As did the man's, but he wasn't able to see the change. If possible, the man's grin became even bigger. He started chuckling. Talohn's face remained expressionless.

"The droid was late, you called."

"Aww, it's just a droid, it doesn't matter. We'll excuse it this time" he said, smiling widely.

"But--"

"No, really, it's fine." he interrupted, still smiling that wide, yellow smile.

Talohn sighed sadly. "Fine."

"Now." the man said brightly. He put down his hand on the table. An Ace of Coins and an 8 of Flasks. "A Pure Sabacc" he said, smirking smugly. Talohn's mouth formed a comical 'O' and he sighed sadly again. The man reached forward to take the pot.

"Wait." Talohn stopped him. The man looked up confusedly. Talohn laid down his hand. An Idiot, a 2 of Sabers and a 3 of Staves. This time it was Talohn's turn to smirk. "An Idiot's Array. I think I win." Lady Luck was smiling on him. That last minute shift had saved him from losing a costly amount of credits. If the man was any less stupid and cocky, he probably would have been suspicious of Talohn's overly dramatic sighs. The man's face was one of shock, but it quickly changed to one of cold anger.

"You cheat."

"I do not. If you had not been so cocky, you wouldn't have excused the droi--"

"YOU CHEAT!" The man stood up quickly, sending his chair flying backwards. He had attracted the attention of mostly everyone in the cantina. A few rodians turned from their game of sabacc with curious expressions. "I won that game. You cheated."

"I didn't cheat."

"YES YOU DID!" He swiped the cards from the table and leaned menacingly towards the trooper.

"Listen, why don't you just calm down." This just seemed to infuriate the man further. But, he seemed to lose interest in Talohn. He turned away from the table and stomped angrily towards to door, shouldering into a drinking Sullustian, sending him, along with his drink, flying to the floor. He walked out of the door, raging and cursing, but wobbling drunkenly. Talohn turned to Aeos.

"So, Ma'am. About that drink?"

Saphira was about to walk through the door when an obvious angry drunkard shoved through. He didn't even seem to acknowladge  Saph. Or if he did, he didn't care. Either way, he ended up shoving the female out of his way.

"Cheater...he cheated. I'll show him...I'll show them all!" The angry man slurred and stumbled off into the coolness of the evening.

OK. I wonder what that's all about. Thinking clearly to herself as she brushed past the door. Greeted by the gentle tunes of music once more as she had excused herself earlier to grab a personal item from her room.  Thankfully, the desk man hadn't been there so she was able to hurry in and out.  Of course, if he was off, she would have to keep an eye out for him.

Flickering her gaze across the room, she spotted As and Talohn sitting at a large table. The man pocketing his winnings as she approached.  Saphira shook her head as both of them turned to regard her presence.

"So it was you two that made that guy so angry? He nearly templed me coming out. Muttering about "cheaters" and how he'll show them all." Saph replied with a sly smile on her lips.

"It was all Talohn. I just sat and watched." Ae replied. Saphira not missing the look of amusement that twinkled in her eyes.

"So I suppose the first round of drinks would be on our newest member then?" Saphira grinned and pulled out a chair. It made a annoying scrapping sound against the dimly polished floor.  Quickly she added, "I don't see Madman, nor Lucky. You don't think  they got lost do you?"

"I doubt it. However, why are you so interested in where MadMan is? You never were before." Ae teased. Not missing the slight eye opener on the Twi'lek.

"No. Not that.." Saph stammered."I just don't trust him being on his own.. Now, about those drinks?"

Trying to change the subject. She was glad  for once that her skin was  red.  Of course, no sooner did she think it was going to slide over, did she catch  a glimpse of who came through the door. Oh no... The man from the front desk, and he was walking right towards them. Not bothering to hide how happy he was with the stupid lopsided grin.

"Fancy meeting you here." He replied. Saphira doing her best not to spin in her chair and give him a good kick.

"I doubt that.." She muttered under her breath. Hoping if she ignored his presence, he would move on.

"Can I get you all a drink?"

Saphira opened her eyes and looked to the two mouthing the word "no". Please don't take a seat. Please don't take a seat. A cold shiver running down her back as she fought the urge to vomit. The man rose a hand, pointed to their table and then moved to sit across from her. Much to her own displeasure.

"No. You don't have to. Besides, this is a private party." Saphira replied and hoped he would get the hint. Wheres Madman when you need him. The one time she wanted him here. The Twi'lek  shifted in her chair. The one time she wished she had a blaster...

Madman enjoyed himself as he packed the dry, brittle sand underneath his warm boots. He was returning from a pleasant walk over the hot sand, he didn’t perspire too much but that’s what deodorant was for, especially Imperial Strength stuff. His attire unsettled typical beachgoers as the copper brown clad apparition traveled back to the hotel. Things weren’t as they seemed, he had somehow managed to disillusion himself, to him he was back home and not a soldier at all. Tuskens had taken his cycler rifle and items while he slumbered the night before. No matter, he was back in town, they’d have a cool air conditioning system as he stepped into the room. He noticed some strange man, he didn’t like him and there was a seat he had set hid eyes on. He’d pull his boot off as he walked forward “Hey guy, how are you?” He’d ask the man who was planning on taking a seat next to Saphira, which he didn’t recognize, he’d then tip the boot and poured the sand out of hid boot like a horn “Well this Is my spot now. Get your own drinking chair buddy.” He’d offer to him as he sat, the sound of sand evening out and grinding into the chair could be heard.

Those at the table looked at him strangely, they looked mighty familiar as he gave them a crooked look back “Oh, it’s you guys. Thought you’d all be laying around the rooms or wearing them weird outfits.” He’d then stuff his foot back in his boot “Who was that guy and why is he giving me daggers?” He had no idea what had been happening, no inclination that the man might have fancied the Twi’lek, it was a pretty common universal kink, if you were born a female Twi’lek you’d always get all sorts of unwanted attention.  “Hello you people. Enjoying your things and your stuff?” He’d ask, but he’d shrug.

Having finished everything that was on her mental to-do list, Lucky walked off to the cantina where she was almost certain she'd find one of her squadmates sitting around at a table. The surprise came when she walked throug hthe catina door for the second time that day and spotted everyone sitting around a large, round table with drinks in hand.

After ordering her drink, she approached the table the squad occupied but stopped short. She sensed tension in the air, it wasn't too strong a feeling but it was there. taking a seat alongside Atoll, she tried to lighten the mood by clapping atoll warmly on the shoulder and looking around at the rest of the squad. "I see you've met the rest of the squad already, how do you find this fine comp'ny?" A shy smle followed, this made her smile widen even more. It eemed as though there had been a small party of sorts  when she was gone, she hoped it was the good kind and they hadn't started making enemies yet.

When her drink arrived, hey all started making small talk and soon were chatting away as though nothing unpleasant had transpired in the past little while.

D stepped off of the shuttle bag in hand. He knew he had to be subtle in approaching his new squad leader with his news else he’d ruin their vacation. He walked into the hotel where they were supposed to be staying and approached the front desk.

“Is there a Saphira Striker staying here? I have a message for her, also I need a room.” D asked the desk clerk.

“Yes there is, but she’s in the cantina now!” He snapped at D, accepting his credits and throwing the key at him.

“Thank you,” D said puzzled as he walked off towards his room.

“What a rude man,” D thought as he left everything in his room accept for the datapad with his orders on it and his pistol hidden at the small of his back.

D made his way towards the cantina, when a rather drunk man shoved him out of the way, mumbling something about “cheaters”.
D thought that was rather strange, but thought nothing else of it; he was going to enjoy his vacation, no matter what. He deserved one after that stint at the Academy! D arrived at the cantina around 2145 when he arrived at the cantina, and saw the angry man enter.

I better get in there, D thought to himself.

D walked into the cantina and saw the angry man approach a table where several people were sitting, as he saw Saph at the table, he decided to make a good impression. He snuck up behind the man, and pulled his pistol out of his pants. The man was screaming at one of the guys, who D assumed was in his squad.

“You’ll give me those credits or you’re dead!” The man screamed, spittle flying everywhere.

D raised the pistol and smacked the guy as hard as he could with it. As the man dropped to the floor, D walked over to Saph and handed her the Datapad.

“Hmm, Darien Crowe, welcome aboard!” She greeted him smiling. “Welcome to the family D,” Ae said with a grin.

Aeos sighed and tipped her chair back as she lit up another cigarette. She waited for Dee to take his seat. The lack of action was already stifling her. She knew Saph considered the time the Horsies spent together as something of valor and it was for this reason only that she had agreed to the vacation. Otherwise she would have been back on Tadath now writing up reports and filling out numerous other hard copies of briefs and events for her bosses.

“Saph, what are the plans for this week?”  She inquired lazily as she waved to the bartender in circular motions to her table. Drinks were on her.

Saphire leaned back into her chair as well and sighed as she clasped her hands together behind her lekku.

“Program is pretty much open-“

The heavily dressed man had made sure his back was turned to the squad as he kept his ear on the conversation they led. He could scarcely believe the luck. A squad? Here?  His bony fingers curled firmly around the tall crystal glass iced around the rim with sugar. He’s need to contact his old friend for this. This might be the opportunity to get professional assistance.

Tyrler Mothtrayn dipped his wide-brimmed hat at the bartender who in turn understood the silent sign and nodded back. They came a long way together since childhood and despite the difference in their professional and personal lives they managed to enjoy the occasional drink together at rare and odd times. He left quickly and hurried. This was good news indeed.

The bartended approached Aeos catiously and bent down and kneeled next to as to blend in with the table’s occupants.

“Your tab has been taken care of.” He said in a low voice.
Saphire’s lekku twitched and the twilek leaned over to him.

“By whom?” she inquiried curiously and suspiciously.

“I think the gentleman will contact you soon enough, but he’s intending to business with your group I assume.” The bartended said with a alien formal tone to his thick and loose accent.

Aeos nodded and waved the burly man away. She made eye contact with Lucky and Saphire. This was weird. Definitely agreed.

“I want to go hunt some game tomorrow morning.  Meet me in parlor at four tomorrow morning, we’ll be taking a hike into the mountain. Heard the local deer is divine, sizzled in some Correlian red wine and Kuati spice.” Aeos  said to the table projecting her voice a tad bit louder.

Atoll glanced at Aeos and cocked his head to the side surprised.
“So you’re a cook hi?”

“Someone’s got to feed you lot.”

Saphira ha to bite her lip as a few of the squad looked at Ae.  With the sound of the music changing to a more uplifting tune, she started to tap her right boot against the floor to the beat.

"Who says someone else can't cook?" Madman objected.  Eying everyone with a smug look that was painted across his face.

"Uh, I think the last time you cooked, there was nothing but burnt charcoal." Saphira teased as she nursed her drink.

That earned a few chuckles as a new round of drinks arrived. One for each of them and a few extra credits placed on the bottom of the pitcher that was given to them. Clearly, whoever wanted their attention, was trying their best to persuade them. Don't look around for him. Clearly he will approach us sooner or later. Of course, she watched the guys reach for the new drinks.

"All that's missing is the grub." Lucky commented as Talohn, Madman and Dee each helped themselves to a few swallows.

"Guys and their boo's." Saphira grunted and tapped her foot a little louder.

Madman gave a loud belch as he slammed his drink. Earning him with the three women giving him wrinkled expressions on their face.

"Really Madman?" Ae replied as the first to recover.

"It had a good flavor..." Came his reply. The two other men just laughed as their glasses tapped against the table.

"Why don't you try and out drink us?" Talohn dared the women. "It's pretty obvious you're all amused right now."

"And if we win?" Lucky replied smugly as the guys turned and had a pow-wow moment.

"IF, you win, we'll gut whatever you take down hunting." Dee replied. Folding his arms over his chest.

Saphira shook her head. "Not good enough. You do that, AND have to wait on us hand and foot for one full day."  It only took the guys a second to agree to their terms.

"However, if you loose, you ladies loose, you have to wait on us hand and foot for a day and be dressed in something pretty." Madman replied.

"Count me out." Ae interjected and looked to lucky and saph. "You two can take the bet on. I refuse to partake on this one."

Both nodded in agreement and snapped their attention to the boys. They were lucky it was vacation. Else such a suggestion would have been reason to give them something more constructive to do.

"You boy's have a deal." Saphira replied as the first sets of drinks were given to them...

------------------------------ Time Lapse ---------------------

The ladies walked away swaying on their feet as a few local's helped carry Madman back to his room.  Giggling loudly as the two others had someone steadying them on their feet.

"Don't forget to remind Madman to wear something he dosen't wish ruined when you boys  clean our kills." Saphira replied over her shoulder with a deep slur in her voice.  Had it not been for the lights marking their path, there was no doubt they would have strayed and ended up sleeping on a bench or the ground.  Her clothes rank of different flavors of boo's and it toook all she had to make it to her room. Bidding goodnight to the others, she locked her door and took an asprin to avoid the hangover that was threatening on the edge of her vision. Never again.. If they hadn't given up on that last round... Thinking quietly as she managed to strip the un-wanted clothing off and shower enough to get the stench off. Only then did she set her clock and pass out for the night. Blessed darkness taking over her thoughts...

--------------- That same evening -----------------

Tyrler Mothtrayn had watched the group and was surprised they didn't outright refuse the drinks. Instead, he watched them play drinking games for the evening. Watching them laugh louder as the drinks loosened their lips. After they confirmed again who they were by someone yelling about cheating (pouring their drink down their chin to avoid another glass..), he had enough.

They wouldn't be worth talking too until heads were cleared. He at least had a few hours  to confirm about  getting their help. Quick strides took him back to  a large building that overlad near  a garden. The sound of a water fountian trickled along the cool air as he approached a man who was talking to someone about the next weeks affairs.  He was hoping to find his best friend, and instead it was Skyke Horrak. Just as well. He would be the one to lay the final decision anyway.

The young man smiled and nodded to Tyrler as the person he was talking to excused himself and vanished into the night. "Even with that smile, I still sense your irritation. Your face is lined with tension." Tyrler  stated.

Skyke sighed and let his shoulder relax. His bright sea-green eyes reflected against the few glow lights that were positioned about the garden at that time of night. He was dressed in a fine blue suit, minus the jacket.

"It's really that obvious? I can't hide anything from you anymore can I?" Skyke replied.  Tyrler gave a small chuckle and patted him on the left shoulder like he had done over the years.

"No, not even your father can. How are the preperations coming?" He asked, going straight down to business.

"Fine. The rest of the guests will arrive over the next day or so. However, I don't see why this had to be brodcasted all over the planet. It's not like I am marrying the Queen." Tyrler replied.

"No, your not, but the Union of your family and that lovley young Bride -Halena is it?" Tyrler paused for a moment as the other nodded. " As I was saying; It's still a rather large deal to your families. After all your family are the best wine makers around. Adding Halena's trading to it is bennifical."

Skyke ran a hand through his brown hair and sighed. "I still don't like it. After those few close calls, I can't bare to loose here. Be dammed about this arranged marriage. I could care less about expanding the wealth and benifit..." He paused and paced a few steps back and forth. "I love her and that's all that matteres."

Tyrler smiled. Just the words he wanted to hear. "You're lucky you have grown up with Halena. Not many are actualy happy about an arranged marriage. However, that's not why I came here tonight. I have ran into a Squad. Not the kind you're thinking. One of the Vast Empire's squads. They are apparently here on vacation and I think it would be wise if we ask for their help."

Skyke paused and thought he was hearing things. A VE Squad here? His eyes opened wide that he could use them if they were willing. He knew there was trouble brewing and hiring the locals did little to wave his concern.

"Did you talk to them?" Skyke was clearly interested with the hint of desperation in his voice.

"Not yet. I wanted to run this by you first. Besides, they were drinking and clouded minds don't achieve anything. However, I did manage to find out that they will be going hunting at the early hours in the morning." He smiled as Skyke got the hint.

"...And they will need a guide to take them to a preferred hunting spot." Skyke smiled and loosened the collar to his shirt. "I'll go talk to them myself in the morning. You've done a great service tonight and I'll get them to help sniff out any trouble that we both know is still coming." Looking far more relaxed then a few minutes ago the young man added. "By the way, did the Dowry arrive?"

"Yes. Both have. Forty cases of the best wine from your family and art, grains and plasma from her family." Tyrler replied with a hint of amusement.

"Good. I will bid you a good night. Will you please speak to my father on my behalf in the morning and explain were I've gone?"

"You know I was already planning on it."

The two men gently chuckled as they walked off into the large house and talked more of what they could do to pay the squad for their services. After all, they could always say no....

D stumbled from the cantina, the smell of alcohol permeated the air around him. He didn’t know why, but he wasn’t upset that they had lost. He stood before his room door, and swayed back and forth, he fumbled in his pockets to remove his key. He opened the door and went straight to the bathroom, where he splashed some cold water on his face.

“That’s better, now to get a shower.” He slurred whilst taking off his clothes.

After the shower, he promptly fell into his bed and went to sleep.

He ran through the Wroshyr trees, crying, “I hope I’m not too late!” He said to himself, as he continued to run. He arrived home to find several Wookies, who stood over the bodies of his family, his mother, her neck snapped, his father, his head chopped off, and his poor defenseless little brother, disemboweled.

D awoke in a cold sweat, “Damn, it’s only 0300.” He swears rushing to the bathroom to vomit.

“I hate that nightmare,” he said whilst puking.

D cleaned himself up, laid back down, and tried to get some more sleep., but it was not to be. He woke up again at 0500 and took some medicine for his hangover. He decided, instead of going back to sleep, he’d clean the guns he brought from his ship. He finished cleaning the guns, around 0700, he jumped into the shower. He got dressed in his casual clothes, dark green cargo pants, black combat boots, and a black tanktop. He put on his wrist lasers, and clipped his visual communicator to the left one. He went down to the lobby to wait for everyone  else to wake up.

So much for 0400. Saphira had thought as she stumbled from bed. Despite the pill from what only seemed a few hours  before, her head felt like someone was tap dancing against her skull. Reaching into a drawer, she feebly pulled out another pill and popped it. Swallowing it with no fluids as she drew to the fresher' and splashed cold water against her clammy face.

"I am never doing that again.." She swore to herself and patted her face dry from the cool droplets.  Saphira could only hope how the others faired. Thoughts of how Madman dealt with a hangover spread across her mind as she dressed and found a slot in her room for the dirties. How convenient. They think of everything here.

She wondered if Ae was already up and about. A smile spreading across her lips as she had a image of the women pacing around and ready to give a lengthy talk about drinking their heads off.  With a sigh, she checked the chrono and realised it was near 0700 and decided it was time to head down and see who was awake. Not to mention find something to put into her empty stomach that was growling  for it's owner to fill it.  "Alright.. I'll feed you.."  Laughing as her head started to hurt less, she unlocked the door and left the room.

Of course, she made sure to sneak by the front desk. Taking a deep relaxing breath that the man from yesterday was in fact working and had his back turned for the moment. It gave her enough time to slip by and out the door into the cool crisp air. A shiver rippled down her back as  she flickered her silver eyes around the cobbled path that split different ways.  Looking to her right she  walked down to  the patio setting and found Ae and Lucky. Sitting and munching on some fruits and sipping on something hot that was steaming from their mugs. Boots tapping lightly, she walked over and gave a nod.

"Glade to see someone else is up." Ae replied and offered a plate of fruit  to her.

"Very funny." Saphira replied as she took the offered plate. Lucky only smirked as she rounded and  took a seat.

"So, we're still on for hunting?" Lucky asked as she tapped her right hand on the white  table.

"Soon as the rest gather. I found us a guide as well." Ae answered. "Naturally, we don't need to stray onto someones land. So, a guide to a favored hunting area is preferred."

They nodded as Saphira sipped on her drink. It was sweet and stung her tongue. However it warmed her to the core and she was glade for something that tasted great. There wasn't a doubt that it was laced with enough caffine to wake her up the rest of the way.

"Now, why can't we get something this damn good back home?" She whispered.

"That's because they'd have troopers bouncing off the wall from it being so good." Lucky teased. Sipping her drink again. "Besides, this stuff is expensive. You think they would spend good money on us  for such a treat?"

"Yea, you're right. However, I'm taking some back when we leave. Too good." Saphira laughed and finished her first cup. "Ae, you were saying about a guide? Who is he?"

"A man named Skyke..." She replied. "He should be joining us shortly and we'll go mount up where they keep their hunting gear."

D sat there in the lobby and played with his datapad until he saw Saph sneaked past the front desk. He started to call out to her but then thought better of it; she had to have a reason for sneaking.

I wonder what that’s all about he wondered as he got up to follow her.

He followed her out to the patio area, where he saw Ae, Lucky, and Saph as they ate breakfast.

“Hey guys, what’s up?” D asked as he smiled.
“Hey D, we’re just eating breakfast.” Lucky said.
“You ready to clean our kills?” Saph asked with a slight smirk on her face.
“Sure am, can’t wait to see what you guys kill.” D said as he smirked, they probably won’t get that much anyway

D sat down and Lucky offered him a glass of the caffeinated drink. He took the offered plait of fruits and started to eat, the fruit was delicious. They made small talk about pretty much nothing for a while.

“Have you guys heard anymore about that man that was supposed to contact us about some business?” D inquired of them.
“No, but I did find a guide for our hunting trip,” Ae responded stoically, as she took a sip of her drink.
“Cool! I can’t wait,” D exclaimed excitedly.

They sat there and continued to chat for a while when Madman showed up.

“Hey guys,” Madman said as he sat down and took the offered glass of caffeinated beverage.
“Hey Madman, are you ready to go hunting?” D asked with a grin.
“Yeah man, can’t wait,” he responded.
“Hey, I have a great idea, there’s three girls and three guys, why don’t we team up guys versus girls? No betting, just for fun.” D suggested with a wide smile on his face.
“Yeah that sounds fun,” Saph said with a smile, “but you know we’re going to win!”

Everyone else agreed to it. “So it’s settled then, Madman, Talohn, and I will team up against you girls.” D stated with a big grin.

Hours earlier...0123...
The rough sound of nails digging into the skin, seeking out the pesky itch that was gravely overshadowed by the ringing headache that rattled along inside of his head. He hated it, oh but atleast it kept his mind sharp...or maybe that was just making it numbed and dull. Why, sleeping would have been something welcomed but...unfortunately he was never a heavy sleeper, considering his paste it was simply...too costly. Oh but that was okay, he always felt he had a good role here, watching over all the dead tired soldiers, brothers in arms with he, there was never a reason for disappointment.

Oh but there was, a very big disappointment, though hard he fought his unaccustomed body succumbed to the sheer quantity of alchohol. He fell, and they did too, worst of all that wretched woman stood triumphant over it all. Hmm...or perhaps he was just irritated by the drilling headache that loomed over his head. His stomach tightened, he could feel the awful feeling still brewing in his stomach, his body was pumping out cold, uncomfortable sweat. It wasn't hot, and he was thankful he hadn't eaten much the day prior. Shifting his eyes to the bathroom, low glowing light illuminating the frame of the door with a gentle glow as to guide blind stumblers to it's caress of utilities that it could provide. He'd certainly have to remember using it...as soon as he could wretch his painful body up and off the floor.

Now then.

With a emptied stomach, and a appetite anew he stared over the spread as his hunger urged him on, tempting him with the assortment of food. But no...he still resisted, he had deviously resorted to wearing his enclosed non-standard faced combat helmet as he let out a sharp hiss through the helmets complicated air filtration system, he needed food but he was no animal. Saphira mildly acknowledged his presence, she'd not allow herself to be the first of the girls to greet him, greet the strange fodding soldier. “Greetings Madman.” Lucky would smile as she tended to her meal, Saphira staringg up with those intense eyes of hers “How in the world did you stash that, Madman? I hope you aren't intending on wearing that out...” She'd dart her tongue, let out a hiss, her intent was clear as he words clearly were more demanding than they would initially let on.

“Aeos, how is the food?” Madman would ask as he plucked a fruit, it was clearly exotic...it hat a rough texture, something similar to a rhine and yet the color had bright and vibrant hues of Orange and green. It was curious. Aeos nodded as she managed to swallow a dainty bite before replying “Pretty good.” She'd reply as she looked up at the strange man “Why don't you try some?” she'd ask, throwing a smile...perhaps she knew he was fairly paranoid about eating any plain food. Was it poisoned, drugged? How was he to know “Maybe. But I prefer my fruits reasonably blended in a cocktail of my choosing.” He'd find himself fascenated by the bright colors as he departed the table with a few others o the sort to make himself his breakfast before he collapsed and whithered at they're feet. Aeos snerked “He's a weird one, isn't he?” she'd ask, as Saphira nodded, taking a more ravenous bite nearing the end of her own treat “Yeah.” she'd reply, half way to swallowing “He's a card alright.” she'd shrug off the question, paying little mind to Madman in order to save face in regards to earlier experiences with him. She couldn't help but smirk at the thought of bagging something big and rubbing the squad's nose in it, by the force she deserved a big break like that before her thoughts were interrupted. Talohn was a bit beat, the day prior was a bit odd but there was little he could pick out from that day that was worth remembering “Hello ladies.” He'd smile, “Guys, what's up? “ he'd ask as he'd snatch what was left off the tray of fruit, regardless of whom it belonged to, it shouldn't have mattered much anyhow.

Lucky waved, though hell was her head aching with the rest of them but somehow she managed to keep it together “Hey Saph, knew where there are any asprin?” She'd ask, before turning to Talohn “Hey there, you ready for the Hunt today as well?” she'd ask and receive a prompt reply. It was a great Photo opportunity, if only he owned a camera. Madman returned back into the room with his concoction, a thick brow/gray smoothie as he sipped it through a straw, of which his mask had a specially designed hole for such an occasion “Well if we're done chatting...” He'd hiss, clearly he was itching to get out rather than sit around here all day “Don't we have some animals to slay?”

=====Earlier that morning=====

When he awoke, Talohn was greeted by a stream of bright, harsh light as it crept through the window. He groaned in pain as it stung his eyes. He flung his pillow at the window, as if this would stop the flow of light. When it didn't, he heaved himself from the bed and walked into the bathroom, splashing water on his face to wake himself from his surprisingly dreamless sleep and to try and ease the pain of the raging headache that had accompanied him through the night.

He prepared himself for the day ahead, wearing his casual clothes. The young trooper looked around for his other equipment. His hand hovered over his combat knife, weary to pick it up. They were, after all, on vacation. He probably wouldn't need it. After another moments hesitation, he picked it up, suffing it in his belt. You can never be too weary, he thought.

=====Present=====

Talohn grinned at Madman. He rather liked his forwardness, despite his. . . eccentricities. He was rather eager for the hunt ahead as well. Ever since he was five, he had been brought on hunting trips back home. And, unlike most hunters, he prefered the Chase to the Kill. Although, this only changed recently. Talohn thought back to the lush forests of Concordia, the dangerous animals, back home in the city, the hot su--

"Talohn? Are you listening?"

"I... what? Sorry, I was daydreaming."

"I was just telling you how we're having a little competition again." D told him.

Talohn groaned. "By the Sith, not another drinking contest. My head is still whirling from the last one."

Everyone chuckled. "No." D said, grinning "When we're hunting. It's gonna be guys versus gals."

"Oh, heh heh. Alright. Anyway, when is this guy com--"

He was interrupted by a meek young man. "Hello, friends. I'm here as your guide for your hunting trip." He smiled. "You made a good choice. Hunting out here is very good."

Talohn was rather surprised. He had expected a grizzled veteran hunter, one who had at least a few scars to his name, not this young man who looked as if he had lived in luxury most of his life. Although, he had to admit, he did look a little troubled. his fellow squadmates seemed to be of the same thoughts. They looked at him oddly.

He looked more than a bit disturbed by their weary stares. "W-Well." He stuttered. "Let''s get moving, shall we?"

Lucky's head was pounding, the painkillers she had taken hadn't helped much with the headache. Sighing, she started to look forward to this hunting trip; she hadn't seen too many Shaaks or Tusk cats in her lifetime. As they waited for their guide, she saw a younger-looking lad come their way. As he introduced himself as their guide, she thought him a little young to be experienced but then again, looks could be deceiving.

"Well then, shall we head off?" she asked, jumping into the many conversations that were going on around her, she couldn't wait to get going, the fresh air would do them all some good. Especially after last night's drinking games.

"Very well, let's get going" agreed the guide. As he turned he gave her a look she couldn't read.

What a strange lad he is

Not wanting to waste anymore time pondering, she briskly moved ahead of them all until they were outside by which time the guide took over.

"Eager to get going, are we?" He asked her pointedly before turning his back on her and beginning the march towards the hills.

"I don't like the likes of him" she whispered to Saph as the woman walked beside her.

"I agree he seems a little strange, let's keep a discreet watch on him for the time being".

With a nod Lucky moved slightly ahead, making sure the guys were all fine and behaving themselves, secretly she was anticipating the hunt ahead, the gals were going to cream the guys at this contest.

D could tell that Lucky was in pain, even though she had taken some painkillers.

Well, there’s nothing I can do about it. He thought as he noticed a young man approached their table.
“H…hello, my name is Skyke, I will be your guide on your hunting trip,” the young man stammered nervously.
“Skyke,” Aeos nodded her head in greeting, “I am the one who contacted you about our hunting trip.”
Lucky stood up from the table, eager to get started. D stood as well, and lit a cigarette. His DC-17 slung over his shoulder, and his D’skar dagger in its sheath. They continued walking for a while, when D turned to Skyke.

“So Skyke, how many hunting parties have you actually guided?” D inquired, a curious expression on his face.
“Several actually, though this is the largest group I’ve taken.” He responded with a chuckle, “don’t worry, I may be young, but I know what I’m doing.”
“That’s good to know,” Ae said as she turned to stare at D. “There a problem Private?” She asked dryly with arched eyebrows.
“N…no, there’s no problem, “ D stammered timidly, then smiling, “I was just asking a simple question.”
hmm, she must outrank him, Skyke thought to himself as they walked.

They came upon the speeders that Skyke rented, and they loaded up and headed for the hunting ground. The arrived at the hunting grounds around 0945.

“You guys ready to lose?” Saph asked with a smirk on her face.
“Nah, you girls are the ones who’re going to lose!” D retorted laughing.
Talohn, Madman, and D followed skyke’s directions and headed northwest, whilst the girls headed northeast, along with Skyke. They agreed to meet back at the speeders at 1330 for lunch.

:::The A-Team!:::

Last minute preparations were in order, the headgear was off and instead layers of messily wrapped, hand-torn fabric  with a blend of brown, green, and black shades concealed his face all except the eyes. Even with most of his head concealed, there were still noticeable scars that littered the long, intense yet relaxed looks of the Madman. “Dibs on Gutting the animal.” He'd laxly claim as he slid his rifle into his arms from it's mounted position on it's back via leather strap. It was about time to get ready, Hunting was a game of tag that took more patience than haste.

Step softly and carry a big stick... Madman pondered to himself as he looked at the two before looking for a good spot, though first checking for tracks before they'd decide to set up. D was the one to locate the tracks “Hold up guys, I...I think I found something.” He'd halt the party, Madman felt a bit embarassed he didn't find them sooner, but he wasn't used to this sort of terrain, he was mostly curious as to what sort of creature they would be tackling today. “IS that so? I hope it's something big...” He'd muse, as Talohn smirked “Well let's hurry up and get into position, sooner we bag this thing, the sooner we can rub it in the girl's noses.” He'd reply, as Madman turned toward him “You know...” Madman would reply, “I like the sound of that.” He'd smirk a bit, though it wasn't as if it mattered with what he personally chose to wear.

“Right, and it's pretty good sized...but let's get ready. Grab some brush, don't want to stick out do we?”

:::Charlie's Angels:::
Ah now this was really gonna be fun, Saphira could already taste victory at hand with a kill that would make those boys blush “Hey Lucky, think they have a chance?” Aeos would ask, weapon slung over her back, as Saphira busied herself by taking some photoreactive facepaint and began applying black and green patches messily which emit no scent nor did it run. Lucky smiled “Well I'd think Madman is the best shot they got, though experience wise...we outrank them hands down.” she'd explain as Saphira clearly found some excitement about being out almost by herself, to stretch her legs, and to finally get back at a soldier for the last few months he'd put her through. “This is going to be fun, girls. We should make them drag our kill and theirs off on foot.” Oh the possibilities seemed oh so lovely.

“Well enough chit chat, Lucky look for fresh tracks and me and Aeos will build some perches up on the trees to keep a look out from an elevated position.” She'd instruct Lucky as they decided to operate as a machine rather than dallying about like the guys likely would. “Looks like I found something, actually a couple...can't tell what it is though, but definitely something decent sized.”

D pulled out his datapad and did a holonet search for Nabooan fauna tracks, and searched until he found ones similar to the tracks he found.

“Guys, what we’re looking at here are adult male and female Narglatches,” D told them, “they’re probably 6 meters long, and weigh around 455 kilograms each.” He informed them.
“Wow, that was quick,” Talohn chuckled.
“Well, I’m pretty handy with a datapad,” D smirked.
“Pipe down you two I think I hear something!” Madman whispered.

They got into position as D climbed one of the trees and set his DC-17 to sniper rifle, and sat there and waited. It was only a few minutes before the female narglatch showed up.

D whispered over his comlink, “Guys, you see it?”
“Yeah, we see it,” Talohn and Madman whispered at the same time.
D asked, “Can I have the first shot?”
“Sure, go ahead,” Talohn said.
“Yeah that’s cool,” Madman chuckled quietly

D raised his sniper rifle and adjusted the scope until he had a clear view of the narglatch. He aimed for her leg, took a breath to steady himself, then he took the shot. The blaster bolt hit the narglatch right in it’s left hind leg, injuring it. D ululated and switched his DC-17 to an assault rifle and jumped from the tree as Talohn and Madman aimed and fired at the same leg and caused more injury. Since it couldn’t run it would stay and fight, she roared for her mate, which ran into the clearing from the east, and growled menacingly.

Now this is fun! D thought to himself, though Talohn and Madman looked to be having fun as well.

Lucky, Aeos and Saph started off after the boys, for the moment they were headed in the same direction but it was not to be so for long. A few minutes after they started off on their 'contest', they found themselves faced with more than one trail, soundlessly each group chose  their respective hunting grounds and went to work.

"Keep quiet you guys" Aeos whispered to the two other women who had started giggling for reasons unknown to her, probably thinking about the guys skinning their kills already she thought, shaking her head.

Luckystar placed her hand over her mouth to cover the sound of her giggles. When she felt ready and confident she lowered it to her side and paid closer attention to the smells and sounds of her surroundings.

"Look guys, I think there's a Shaak!" Saphira whispered excitedly.

Placing a finger to her lips to indicate silence, Lucky looked in the direction of the Twi'lek's pointing finger and saw it. It was pretty tall and ugly-looking in her opinion, to her its body looked round, its legs small and a seemingly ugly face topped the package.

"Wonder how it can hold iself up it's so big" she mutterred under her breath as she stared at the creature, grazing the ground; possibly in search of food.

"Let's get it guys!" Saph exclaime as she raised her weapon, all ready to go.

The injured narglatch growled threateningly at Talohn and his fellow hunters. Even though she was hindranced, she looked quite capable of harming them. Her mate bounded forward and began pacing in front of her, ready to defend her if the hunters got any closer. He was pressed low to the ground, prepared to pounce. Talohn raised his rifle experimentally. The male immediately responded by pressing himself even lower to the ground.

"So . . . Any preferences to which one we shoot first?" Talohn inquired, never taking his eyes off the defensive predator.

Madman cleared his throat softly. The male twitched anxiously. "I vote for the one that isn't injured. Seems more of a threat."

"Yeah, I second that." D said nervously.

"Right then."

The hunters raised their rifles, aiming directly at the pacing creature. It let off a deep, gutteral growl, standing in place. Evidently, it was deciding whether to attack or not. After a few seconds, it pounced forward. The three troopers shot a bolt each, which all hit the creature in its abdomen. It howled in agony, but kept running forward. Enraged, it pounced on top of Talohn, trying relentlessly to scratch him or bite him. He took his knife from his boot and plunged it into the creature's side. It howled again and fought even harder, trying to get past Talohn's guard.

Suddenly, it went limp. It let off one more howl of pain before it collapsed on Talohn, it's lips curled in a death snarl. He heaved it off and stood up.

"What the frak just happened?"

"A narglatch jumped on you." Madman said dryly.

Talohn sighed. "I mean when it just . . . died."

"I shot it." Madman rolled his eyes.

Before Talohn could reply to that, the other narglatch joined in, obviously angered at her mate's death.

Talohn chuckled. "Your turn." He said to Madman and D.

- Couples hours later -

Skyke Horrak was pleased. Other then the manner the group was behaving towards each other, they were perfect for what he needed. Of course, they were on vacation and a little friendly comp would never hurt. It was why he had decided to take them to a reserve.  The beasts there were rather easy and over populated.  Easy enough for them to take down so they can get back; and down to business.

He smiled and watched as each group had bagged  large beasts. Only the males had seemed to have much of a problem with being attacked.  No serious injury, other then perhaps some pride.

"So, who won?" Saphira asked with a sly smile as the groups went to inspect each others kills. Like hell she wanted to be a servant girl for even one second to the guys!

"If I may be so bold." Skyke  interjected.  The young man that had been their guide stepped up with a calm smile. His mannarisim had changed and he didn't miss the way the women were now looking at him. Good.  "I can have it arranged for your kills to be taken care of for you. Free of charge of course."

"Why?" Lucky asked. Folding her arms over her chest.  The guys looked back and forth. Their faces looking as if they had their favorite toy taken away from them.

"No way! This was a bet. It's obvious we won!" Talohn  shouted.

Saphira smirked and was obviously amused. Gaining the mental picture of the man stomping his feet like a child. Ae rose her right hand to silence their squabbles.

"Nothing is ever done for free. Why are you being so generous?" Ae  poked.

The man mearly tipped  his head with a smile. "let's just say I have a great respect for your group and hope to have a chat with you all later this afternoon after you all have wound down from the excitment from the hunt? Say, the pavilion around late afternoon?"

They of course agreed. How could they not? he gave them no recourse not too. They had accepted his drinks the night before and had trusted him with the hunt and even now. By this afternoon they would be eating out of his hand and with any luck, hired and be able to help solve the problem that had been giving him haunting nightmares for days on end.

"I don't like it." Saphira snorted. Watching him walk off as she picked a twig off her shoulder.

"I don't either, but something tells me he's the one from the other night, or at least the messenger. You don't shoot the messenger." Ae replied.

"Tell that to Rizzit." Saph teased. They started laughing as  the guys looked sour. "What?"

"We were looking forward to seeing you serving us..."  D replied.

Lucky went to a knee and picked up a small stone. It was smooth and no larger then a quarter. Palming it as she stood she eyed them. "You wish. Besides, you know we won and are just being sore loosers...."

The bickering started all over again as Ae sighed and wished she had a stun blaster handy to shut them all up for a few hours....

They finally quit arguing enough to get their kills loaded onto one of the speeders so they could get out of there. After they dropped their kills off where Skyke had set up for them to be taken care of, they went immediately to their rooms.

“Take thirty minutes to get cleaned up then meet me on the patio where we had breakfast, we’re going to discuss what to do about this guy.” Saph told everyone.

D went up to his room and stripped down and went to the refresher to get a shower, he always needed one after hunting. After he got dressed, he had a few minutes so he decided to do some research Nabooan wine and decided that he’d pick up a couple bottles of Merlot to take back with him. It was time for the meeting on the patio, so D stuck is DL-44 in his hip holster and stuffed his datapad in his pocket and left the room. D got to the patio to find everyone else already there.

“Hey guys, while I was resting I did some research and found the perfect wine to bring home when we leave!” D said excitedly.

“What kind?” Saph asked curiously.

“Well, I’m trying to decide between Merlot and Chardonay,” D responded, “but I know I want it aged at least 20 years.”

“Very nice D, maybe I’ll pick up a few bottles myself,” Saph said smiling.

“Okay here’s what’s going to happen, we’re going to go and meet with Skyke, and see what exactly he wants, though I have a pretty good idea what it is.” Saph told them, a serious expression on her face.

This ought to be rather interesting. D thought to himself as they left to go meet with Skyke.
