A light streaked past the transparasteel cockpit of a Tie Advanced Imperial fighter. It was another freighter passing through border territories which the VE had secured along the New Republic. A slightly annoying alarm started up waking up the fighter pilot inside. switching the alarm off he opened a secure channel to Aegis 1. "Flight two leader here sk8 picked up another one entering our trap should we get 'em?" static blured back to LoneWolf as he studied his sensors then heard the familiar voice of his friend, "Give them a second, wanna make sure thier Rebel enough for us to pin down." as his voice and the radio static lingered in the back of LW's head the sensors showed the cargo, and contents. The huge bulk freighter was transporting a minimal crew, a few loads of blasters, and computer mainframes. "Think that looks threatening enough for the Vast Empire shall we disengage decoys? and engage?" Sk8 came back, "Yeah move in." LoneWolf responded by deactivating his decoy, and ordering over the comm, "Flight 2 lets move out to intercept!" Thrawn, and Denthor reactivated thier fighters then aligned abreast to Thier newly appointed flighter leader. Sk8 led ahead with his flight. He hailed the freightor to halt, and be boarded by waiting forces from the lone planet in the system. The Artrus had dropped the squadron off to assist the military outpost while the Super Star Destroyer moved to pick up supplies from another base. it would pick them up in a couple of days. until then the Elite squadron was pulling off patroling duties in the border territory system.  Fallen came over the comm, waiting back for further orders, "Hey Sk8! i just picked up incoming fighters. "A-wing slash! get in front of me give them fire then break off once your point 5 clicks away!" LoneWolf hoped the rebels would fall for thier own tatics set by some of thier own masterminds.Thrawn and Denthor let loose a force of green laser fire hitting a couple of the X-Wings into star dust, while the three imperial fighters tried to fly together as one, like a pod racer. after three of the enemies met thier fates Denthor, and Thrawn broke off letting LoneWolf hit two rebels with consectuive full powered linked blasts. Both of the enemies were gone and flight two had taken out nearly half the fighter force already. Sk8 flew around practically alone; though Kain was one of the best leaders Aegis had witnessed he had taken a small accident onboard the Arturs leaving him out of the job of leading Aegis for awhile. Sk8 had moved up to take command and it was only a little while ago kain was even well enough to get back in a fighter. By seeing how well sk8 had done he decided to let his former flight two leader assume the full command of Aegis permenatly. LoneWolf asked cautiosly "Need help sir? it seems like thier swarming you two." the Tie Advanced ripped through a fighter on the new SC's tail. "Thanx LW, form up and take out the other ones we need to get flight 3 soem help with that freighter. It seems like the dont want us to have it. good thing that asteroid belt is orbiting around this system otherwise we'd probably loose that frieghtor by now." "we got 5 fighters left looks like more than an even fight here" Thrawn advised, "looks like thier forming up too." LoneWolf didn't bother to respond but locked onto his new enemies. Slowly he began to wonder what was so important that the freightor was hiding. riples in the force fed back to LoneWolf and he knew it couldn't be that good to be that much of a disturbance in the force.

"What are they carrying on that thing Princess Leia!?" LoneWolf jerked the Tie Advanced into a tight tange with an A-Wing so far only one X-Wing was left and only two A's were destroyed. Jmac came over the comm, "Lets hope this is the last wave so we can get a boarding team on board the freightor!" "Yeah" Sk8guy commented, "Lets hurry up so we can open up the big present!" Pilots from the imperial squadron broke out into evasive menuevers, and into thier groups. LoneWolf's voice crackled over the comm to Fallen and the rest of flight 3, "You guys keep the little distance you got and give them a missile lock, we'll keep them away from you while you fire away." "Are you sure 'bout that LW?" Fallen asked. "Yeah I think we can get away from them when they go boom." "OK" fallen replied. The imperial bombers lined up and warmed up thier missile systems. LoneWolf kept and eye on his sensors as the groups got a 'GO' to launch. missile shot out of the ships to thier designated rebel targets. LoneWolf braced his craft straight towards one of the missles giving it laser cover. A couple of A's lined up behind LoneWolf pounding his shields to nothing. he had 12% when he was just 0.7 clicks away. He swiftly dodged the couple of missiles and let it cut through the two fighters perfectly. two A's exploded and stripped away the shields off another rebel craft. "Good shot Jmac!" LW shouted then turned his craft around to get more kills. a series of A-Wings exploded from the sent missles and the fighter force shrunk to less than half. congrats to flight three, and LoneWolf's idea rained quickly through the channels then the legendary Squadron focused is un-wanted attention to the remaing rebel pilots trying to get organized for a retreat. "Let's get these rebel worms before they get to hyperspace Aegis!" Sk8guy's order was heard like music through all the Aegis pilot's ears.

OOC: Good Job on the posting guys. But here's a note you might want to know, Three Flight isn't flying assualt gunboats we're all in TIE Advanced. But that's ok for this mission. Just continue as is and we'll change later. Sk8 watched as his squadron formed a perimeter around the diabled craft. He had recieved word that the Atrus was inbound and they sent a corvette in ahead to board the freighter. As he relaxed his mind and wiggled around in his cockpit he saw a blink in the corner of his eye. It was the boarding party, two gunboats, and a squadron of assualt gunboats. Looked like the relief watch had arrived. "Aegis leader, this is the corevette Griffin. We hear you've got a present that needs unwrapped. We've also got a relief escort for you. You can divide up and dock with us." came the voice of the corvette's commander. "Copy that Grendel. It's all yours." sk8 replied to the corvette. "You heard the man, Lonewolf, you and two flight take one gunboat, Fallen, you and three flight take the other. One flight, follow me into the Grendel. Get some rest gentlemen. Over and Out." Sk8 heard many responses, then powered up his engines and led his flight towards the Grendel. His squadron could use some rest, and he was glad to finally be inside a ship designed for more than one person.

OOC: look at me, I'm posting on the story! Denethor ran down the corridors of the corvette Griffin, racing for the hanger bay where his modified T/A was placed. Troopers, pilots, officers and gunners were racing everywhere, getting in his way. He finally just cut into a turbolift and went straight down to the hanger, ran to his ship, jumped in and almost didn't even get clearance to depart. That Cal cruiser was a great threat to the Corvette, but Aegis squadron as a whole was greater to the Cal.   "Aegis 7 standing by" reported Denethor over the comm "Aegis 3 standing by" commed in Liquid Sna     "Aegis 1 ready to rock boys, lesgo" said sk8 "Aegis 5 reporting in, where's Thrawn?" said LW "Right here sir," said Thrawn only an instant afterwards         "Flight 3 reporting in and ready to barrage that Cal cruiser with every missle we've got." said Fallen Aegis flew out of the hanger in unison and broke into flights, flight one went to starbard, 2 to port, and 3 straight at the Cal cruiser locking in all the missles they could. LoneWolf directed Denethor and Thrawn to alternate laser and ion blasts to weaken the cruisers sheilds. At the moment that they began firing, he felt something wrong through the Force, as if many small things were about to enter into play, and yet, felt something very large also entering the picture, but from the opposite side. At that moment, two full squadrons of X-wings and A-wings entered normal space 5klm from Aegis 2's position, and on the opposite side, a VSD enter 7klm to the Cal Cruiser's starbard side, the Atrus had finally arrived.   "Alright Aegis, the Atrus is here," said sk8 "but that doesn't mean that our jobs finished, it hasn't even started....."

Sk8 awoke and went to the refresher. We hit the shower and freshened up before the mission. He could be stuck in that cockpit for awhile. He stopped by the Lounge and got some breakfast and then proceeded to the hanger. It was a wierd site, the 12 E-wings sitting in the hangar bay of the Atrus, an Imperial ship. He went over to the one that was assigned him and looked it over. It was no TIE, but it would work for the mission. He sat down on it's stablizers and reviewed the mission. He hoped it would all go as planned. After about half an hour, the rest of the squadron started arriving. They went to their ships and looked them over. Most of them seemed excited. After all the members were present, he prepared the mission debreifing. "Ok, I know you're all excited about this mission, but listen up. Like I said last time, no engaging the rebels. We fly in, I do all the talking if we're hailed. Our intelligence estimates we have about about a minute before we're hailed from the tower. Then once we state our purpose, we'll have about 5 minutes to look around before they get suspicous and start asking questions. Got that, so ten minutes to site see." sk8 stated. "What if they don't buy our it?" asked Parhelion. "I'm assured that our intitial response will be bought. Have faith on this one. Should anything happen, you're all to engage your cloaking devices and get away from the base and hyper back to the rondevous site. Any further questions?" sk8 responded confidently.Sk8 looked around and then said, "Ten mount and get outside. Good luck and may the Dark Side shine upon on." Having said that, sk8 made his way to his ship and prepared it for liftoff. He went throught the pre-flight checklist and powered up his engines. After getting clearance for the entire squadron, he departed the Atrus and waited outside in space for the rest of Aegis to form up.

OOC: Well if you happen to read my post above you would see that we're flying E-wings, not TIEs. My post above tells the exact info on the E-wings as well. Together as one, Aegis entered hyperspce toward the secret Rebel base. He checked his systems and wondered how this E-wing would handle. After throwing a couple switches and making himself more comfortable, he prepared for a long ride. 4 hours later.......... Aegis exited hyperspace, and were appalled by the sight before them. A massive array of Rebel ships and stations formed in front of them. Sk8 could count 4 Mon Cals, 1 Rebel ISD, 5 bulk cruisers, 1 strike cruiser, 7 corvettes and various other support craft. All these ships guarded two shipyards, a repair yard and some other station. Sk8 hailed up the communications of the area and reported in. They seemed a little suspicous, but they let them pass. Sk8 picked up his message device and typed, "Ok, turn on your radars, sensors, and all the recording devices. Break off into flights and have a look around." He smiled as Aegis broke off into three groups, Fallen's going left, Twin's right and his right up the center. He headed for the unknwon station. He wanted to get a good look at it and see what it was. After three minutes of snooping around, the Rebel forces hailed sk8 again,wanting to know his purpose and what his squadron was doing here. Sk8's mind blanked, but before he could regain his response, he saw a flicker out of the corner of his eye. It was followed by many other flickers. He looked towards the flickers and noticed a couple star destroyers and other imperal craft. They began launching fighters, and warning signals blared through the comms. A New Imperium fleet ahd arrived and were attacking the rebel base. Sk8 aced a difficult decision now, fight for witht the NI, the rebels, no one or run. He thought fast through all the possible outcomes, until he decided on the action Aegis would take. He didn't bother with the covert message system anymore, just yelled through the comms, "Listen up Aegis. We're getting out of here. If a fighter, Rebel or NI comes after you, engage it, but gain attention intentionaly. Drop some probes in the area you are near and get out of here. Got that?" He was rewarded with a bunch of positive answer. Suddenly he sensed a threat behind him and jerked the flight stick up. He barely avoided some green laser fire. Quickly sk8 rolled to the right and pulled back on the stick to come in behind the fighter. It was one of the familiar NI TIEs. He locked on and fired, blowing the craft into an orange fireball. Quickly sk8 flipped a switch and deployed his reconaissance probe. "Drop your probes one flight and let's get out of here." He saw the members of Aegis one flight drop their probes and form up to jump to hyperspace.

Liquid looked at his navigational computer, that last hit before they went hyper really damaged it Liquid calls over the com to Sk8guy: "Sk8, i'm hit, i'm gonna need some assistance navigating please" Sk8 calls back, "no problem Liquid, just follow my instructions to the t, and you'll get back home fine" Liquid: Thanks Sk8! As they sit back and prepare to be in hyper for a while, Liquid notices a distress call from one of Flight 3's members, JMac, as he was preparing to go into hyper space, an Imperial Interdictor had started to pull him in with his gravity wells, Liquid asked Sk8 what to do Liquid: "Sk8, did you get that last call from JMac?" Sk8: "Yes, Liquid, but we needn't worry, he shall be fine, he has Fallen as a flight leader, he'll pull through" As Liquid continues to worry about one of his best friends and also his main reason for joining the VEN, Sk8 tells him not to worry once more, Liquid obeys orders, sits back, and tries to relax

Sk8 looked as he saw the 12 X-wings fly in towards the interdictor. He noticed his targeting computer put the name 'Rogue' to them. Sk8 began to ponder about how good this famous Rebel squad was. He stored the observation in the back of his mind and said to Aegis, "Ok boys, go for another run on the interdictor. It should drop its shields and force it to run. Then we'll get out of here." "Copy that," came Fallen's voice over the comm. He ordered his flight to form on him and they prepared for another attack. Aegis launched its missles and broke off, preparing for their hyperspace point. Unfortunately the interdictor didn't retreat, instead, two more NI star destroyers jumped in system. Sk8 checked his sensors, but the gravity well was still up. He had no choice, but he had to ask the Rebels for help. "Rogues Squadron, this is Green commander, we could use your help with this interdictor." "This is Rogue leader, no problem. We'll have it running scared in no time." came a strong voice. Sk8 sat back and watched the famous squadron work. He had to admit thay were good. In a matter of minutes they drove the interdictor out of the system. "Ok Aegis, jump now before more help arrives." sk8 ordered. He quickly switched channels and said, "Thanks Rogues. Have a nice battle this is Green commander over and out." He then hit the hyperspace lever and the light enveloped him.

As the Muurian Transport, Dark Shadow came out of hyperspace, PJ settled himself back into the pilot's seat. It had been a while since he had gazed upon the hull of the  Atrus.  He could only guess how much had changed in his absence. As he neared, his com crackled to life. "Transport Dark Shadow, this is the m/SSD Atrus...please identify yourself." Sending the ship's information, PJ sat back in the chair and waited for a responce. "Admiral? Is that you?" the voice on the other end questioned. A smile came over PJ's face and though no-one else could see, he grinned. "Sure is, tell command that I'm back and ready for action." PJ said with a chuckle. Waiting for permission, he switched his comm off and prepared to land aboard the destroyer. It was only a matter of time, before his feet once again met the floor of the Atrus. Aegis 4ever!!!

PJ sat in the briefing room, listening to the commanders deal out the information they had collected.  One by one, PJ had started to get used to the events that happened on the Atrus. Though he had yet to fly a starfighter into combat again, he was sure he could do it. This mission sounded like a great way to prove his worth. As the squadron was dismissed, he thought about the last time he was in a starfigther in the thick of battle and it came back to him how crazy it could be, and that anything could happen. Given the day of relaxation, PJ knew excactly what he would do....he was in no need for rest, for he had just arrived back from a much-needed break and had not re-entered into the war, just yet. Just to be safe, PJ walked down the corridor towards lounge and the flight simulators.........

I walked with a brisk pace down the hall to the flight sims, I still needed to log a few more hours before the next mission. As I was walking down the hall, Parhelion stopped me, and asked if he could join me. I shrugged my shoulders  and said "sure, why not?" I stepped into the one flight sim, and booted up, while parhelion stepped into the other, I loaded the sim as parhelion was patching into the simulation i had started, just then, a loud explosion was heard. Jmac: "Darnit!, i got killed again!" /me sighs a breath of relief, it was just Jmac and his damaged ears again, he had once again turned up his volume just a bit too loud. Just as me and parhelion were heading towards the Squadron of rebel xwings, in their nice, shiny, 3d rendered Tie Advanced's, JMac shouts again......

Suddenly, JMac hears a knock at his door JMac: "who is it?" Liquid: "it's me!!" Jmac opens his door, and Liquid stumbles  in in a drunken stupor. Jmac: "I can't believe how hammered you are, you sure can drink!" Liquid: "that's what happens when you go against merrick." Liquid Stumbles out of the room, and JMac follows him into the lounge. Jmac: "why don't you go ask her out?" Liquid: "why should i?" JMac: "because i think she likes you" Liquid: "ok" Liquid then walks over to merrick, asks her out, and gets completely and totally shot down, very horrible site As Liquid is being thrown across the bar, Jmac mutters to himself, "I knew i'd get him back, it was just a matter of time"
