It was finally over; Rogueboy’s contract had expired and he was now a free citizen living inside Vast Empire space, clutching his discharge papers Rogueboy broke the news first to Darr and secondly to the squad. “What are you going to do now?” Darr had asked as he was unable to hide the disappointment from his voice. Rogueboy and Darr had a fairly long relationship over the past two years, and while Rogue never really thought about it he had come to enjoy the comradeship between his squad leader and himself.

“I’m not too sure; I think I want to go see the galaxy before settling down somewhere quiet, maybe become a farmer or something. I just want to live a simple life and leave all this behind.” Rogueboy said after deep thought.

“You will never leave all this behind; it’s amazing what two years can do to you, what you can learn, the feeling as you hold a fellow trooper to your chest calling for a medic while the guy is dying  in front of you and there is nothing you can do. The feeling as a blaster bolt flies by your head or skims your boots while you’re running. The feeling when you get flash banged and your blind and as the enemy charges into the room your team somehow saves your ass and you thank any god that listens that there is no haven like that of the corps.”

The former assistant squad leader knew what Darr was talking about and he felt thick with emotion as he gave his former squad leader a hug. “You take care of yourself out there, don’t do anything I wouldn’t. Also we’re celebrating at the Gray Squint tonight and you’re welcome to come.”

“I can’t you know what my schedule is like, got a meeting with the requisition staff we lost a lot of Raiders in the last mission and we need some time off to replenish our ranks. Recruitment is not as high as it once was, with the galaxy being in a constant state of warfare for little more than a decade, it’s hard to convince families to send their children over when this war has a fairly high casualty rate.”

Rogueboy let out a nervous laugh, partly because he was ignorant of such affairs and secondly because he was uneducated and was unsure on how to conduct a conversation such as this. “Well Darr, I’m going to miss you, but I gotta say goodbye to the others.”

“Take care; remember if you need anything I’m here.” Darr said.

Rogueboy stepped out of Darr’s office and nearly ploughed into Leon as he was walking by.  “Hey sorry didn’t see you, oh hey Leon what’s been happening?”

The current squad leader of Dark Dragoons turned around and realized that it was Rogue talking to him. “Hey, not much things have been busy what with all the new duties that I have to attend to and the penny pushers wanting results. What have you been up to?”  Leon asked.

“Oh not much just that, I got my discharge papers today!” Rogueboy said excitedly.

“Really?” Asked Leon disbelief written across his face. “But wait, that means you’re not in active service, your leaving the corps?”

It wasn’t that Leon was particularly slow it was just that he had come to know Rogueboy from their countless meetings each has come to accept that the other is a survivor and will be a long-standing member within the corps. “What do you plan to do?” The squad leader asked.

This is the second time someone had asked Rogueboy what his plans were and he responded to Leon in almost the exact same fashion that he had told Darr, including the invite to the party. Which Leon accepted with an indefinite answer as he had much work that needed be done.

Rogueboy was about to head into the Raiders room when someone grabbed his arm. The hand was warm and for some odd reason reminded Rogue of ages past when he was a different person more youthful in appearance and manner. Now he felt older, wiser, and more likely to use his big head over his little one, and his heart. Rogue looked down the hand was his favourite shade of red.

“Going somewhere?” Namyr asked with a smile on her face.

“I got my...” Rogue was interrupted by Namyr.

“Discharge papers today. I know you must have told me about a thousand times before our last mission. You also told me your plans. Rogue, I’m going to miss you and your silly little jokes.”  Namyr said as moisture appeared in her eyes.

Rogueboy pulled Namyr into a hug making sure not to hit her lekku, remembering the first time he did it and she swore a blue streak at him after throwing a few blind punches that nearly broke Rogue’s nose. Rogue stroked Nam’s lekku, it might not be hair but Namyr had come to accept that Rogueboy would treat it as hair. “Don’t cry, your tougher than that.”
“Oh I’m not crying because I probably won’t see you again, I’m crying because now I won’t have anyone to beat up in our melee training sessions.” Namyr joked.

Rogue laughed. “I’m going to miss you as well, who else could at a target range and hit someone else’s target three lanes down.”

“I told you the blaster was defective!” Namyr yelled in mock outrage before turning serious again. “Oh I’m coming to your goodbye party and damn me if you’re leaving sober.”
Smell has always played an important role in Rogue’s life and now was no exception as he inhaled Namyr’s fragrance and it nearly drove Rogueboy insane. Almost subconsciously he leaned in to kiss Namyr but she gently pushed him back. “Relax trooper, I’m still mad at you.”

“Then I take it as a good thing I’m no longer a trooper.” Rogueboy half joked however disappointment was clearly etched on his face.

“Let’s go tell the other troopers.” Namyr said as she broke away from the hug and together they entered the barracks.

In full dress uniform, medals and all Namyr leaned against the wall down the hall from where Rogueboy was signing his papers for retirement. Per to regulations her Lekku had no adornments and laid down her back. Earlier the day she had been invited to the ceremony with all the bells and whistles of his retirement. Nothing had been said between her and him before he was ushered into the room for the paperwork. Her mouth pursed a little, her eyes closed as she waited. She still had almost two years left in her enlistment and now Rogueboy was going to go off start a farm and live a life where everyday there was a possibility of dying. She was going to miss him, terribly, and felt regret for alienating their friendship while she had been seeing Riqimo. She let out a dark sigh, she knew she wasn’t a hundred percent at fault for the whole situation, but still she felt like she had ruined her last chances to be with her friend.

The door opened and Rogueboy stepped out grabbing Leon, for who knows why, had passed by the door at that exact time. They, being guys, punched one another in the arm and exchanged manly words, and also Leon’s surprise on Rogueboy’s retirement. Namyr had kept her mouth closed about the whole situation, if Rogueboy wanted to tell him then he could, it was none of her business. After they spoke Rogueboy turned to walk down the hall and this is where Namyr caught him by the arm. Gazing up at him she felt her face break out in a grin equally as roguish as his own, and to her surprise her cheeks flushed as well. What had happened to the boyish curve in Rogueboy's chin, the young twinkle in his eyes, when had he become, well a man, and why hadn't she noticed it? The confident, warm look in those lime green eyes, his casual slow smile, it was almost like he was a character from an old space western and she expected him any moment to produce a cowboy hat, murmur a low, 'ma'am,' to her and ride off into the sunset. And since when did she had such girlish reactions to him?

“Going somewhere?” she asked blinking her long lashes.

“I got my...”

“Discharge papers today. I know you must have told me about a thousand times before our last mission. You also told me your plans. Rogue, I’m going to miss you and your silly little jokes,” she said blinking back tears, she surprised herself, had she actually allowed herself some little hope that he would change his mind at the last moment and reenlisted. Now she truly was being silly. She relaxed in Rogueboy's hands and shivered slightly as he stroked her Lekku, since he had once frightened her by grabbing them and she had almost punched him, Rogueboy had always been extra careful about them.

“Oh I’m not crying because I probably won’t see you again, I’m crying because now I won’t have anyone to beat up in our melee training sessions,” she lied completely through her teeth managing a smile. What else was she going to do when she woke up so early in the morning all she could do was call Rogueboy and demand a Melee training session. He would show up, hair usually up at a point where he had slept on it wrong. He'd give her shit about getting him up that early, but sure enough everytime she did call he would show up, she had come to rely on Rogueboy.

“I’m going to miss you as well, who else could at a target range and hit someone else’s target three lanes down,” smartass that had been one time before Darr had ordered her to get her eyes checked, then the three months of coke bottle glasses before she had finally gotten in for laser eye surgery. For goddess sake! she had a sharpshooter medal on her uniform.

“I told you the blaster was defective!” Namyr yelled in mock outrage before turning serious again. “Oh I’m coming to your goodbye party and damn me if you’re leaving sober," she stated looking serious again, biting her lip, maybe the party would be the last time she saw Rogueboy again. Suddenly he pulled her closer into the hug, Namyr let out another sigh burying her nose in his warm shoulder and inhaling his smell, that cinnamon spicy smell she had loved for such a long time. She looked up at Rogueboy whose lips were inching towards her own. She had half a mind to allow him to kiss her but then remembered she was in uniform and PDA was usually frowned upon.

“Relax trooper, I’m still mad at you," she said her voice a little huskier then she wanted it to be as she looked back into Rogueboy's eyes.

“Then I take it as a good thing I’m no longer a trooper," Rogueboy said a sad, disappointed, boyish looking coming over his face. Namyr smiled, he wasn't a trooper anymore, which meant he wasn't a raider anymore....which meant.

“Let’s go tell the other troopers,” Namyr said taking Rogueboy's hand her head filled with thoughts. Funny thing was, most of the Raiders had already left to go and get ready, except for the newest recruits who were stuck for a few more hours doing paperwork.

"Hey what's that?" Rogueboy asked as Namyr took out a clothing bag out of her locker.

"What I'm wearing to your party of course, now come on, we get changed at your place, then head to the bar for your party," Namyr said taking Rogueboy's hand again and tried pulling him towards the parking lot. She was denied the movement byt Rogueboy standing fast and looking at her.

"Namyr, we erm, never mind we can talk later," Rogueboy sighed leaving Namyr in the dark on what he wanted to talk about.

Namyr raised and eyebrow, "Okay it's your party," she replied and after a short car ride where Namyr was clinging Rogueboy's waist from his insane driving on his racer, they arrived at Rogueboy's apartment, "I really miss Patch," Namyr murmured at the empty sound the apartment without the droid scooting around.

"Yeah and cleaning after myself kind of sucks to, well you know where everything is," Rogueboy said heading to his bedroom to change while Namyr took the bathroom, slipping on the dress, quickly putting on a little make up and heading for the bedroom when she was finish, slipping on high heels as she walked.

"So, good enough for you going away?" Namyr asked leaning against the doorway as she watched Rogueboy struggle with his tie, that is until he glanced up at her and his eyes grew large. She was wearing a simple dress, bit it was the same color as her eyes, but it made sure to accent her chest and legs enough for Rogueboy's eyes to bug out.

"Y-yes," Rogueboy said his cheeks flushing slightly, which amused Namyr, "A little help?"

Namyr chuckled walking up to him and taking the tie and pulling it away from Rogueboy and dropping it on the bed, "Go without it," she said casually smiling a little and shrugging, turning away she picked up her purse, "Come on Alexander'eswo, you're so slow and we'll be late!"

Patch was still alive, not so much in mind as in body unfortunately. Rogueboy had been piecing him back together without Namyr’s knowledge; currently he needed a special power converter that he had ordered at a local droid repair shop. Unfortunately upon complete reparation Patch won’t have the memories or the personality that he had before, however there was a fifty-five percent chance that he would adopt the same personality given that nothing had changed from before.

"So, good enough for you going away?" Namyr asked leaning against the doorway and interrupting Rogue’s thoughts. However it was a welcomed intrusion as Namyr was wearing a simple yellow dress that accentuated her eyes; the dress was short on both ends exposing a lot of cleavage and a lot of leg, regardless Rogueboy was not complaining and he had to control himself from tenting up.

“Y-yes.” Rogue stammered, he knew he was blushing and if it was anyone other than Nams he would have wished he was dead. “A little help?” He asked, he always had trouble doing a tie, he would skip a step because he could never remember it.

"Go without it," Namyr said as she grabbed her purse and headed towards the door Rogue’s eyes following her movements as lascivious thoughts ran through his mind, most of them involving very little; if any, clothing. “Come on Alexander'eswo, you're so slow and we'll be late!" Nams said as she stepped out of the door.

Alex followed as he contemplated two possible actions that he could do; one would be to go to the club and see what happens there, the other would be to pick up Namyr and carry her back to the bedroom and physically let her know how he felt. Rogueboy opted for the first one as the second seemed more like a fantasy play out as opposed to real life scenario. Rogue was unable to tear his gaze away from Nams when he saw her; she was absolutely stunning.

Activating the alarm and locking the door the duo headed outside as they walked to their destination. Rogueboy reached out and grabbed Namyr’s hand, it was warm to the touch and he was able to tell that she was nervous, he also knew that he himself was nervous. Together they entered the Gray Squint which was a club owned by a former navy pilot; the loud music reverberated off of Rogue’s bones causing him to start moving to the rhythm. Moving his way through the crowded dance floor Rogue was looking for familiar faces at any of the tables, quickly he spotted Leon and a few VE regulars doing some damage on the club’s alcohol supply. Namyr was still on Rogue’s arm and he turned to her and mouthed. “Drinks?” He knew it would be folly to actually speak when the music was this loud, so instead he raised his eyebrow to show that it was a question. Namyr nodded and together they headed towards the bar.

At the bar Rogueboy held up two fingers and mouthed for Coruscant Sunrises the bartender gave them their drinks and collected his pay. Namyr and Rogueboy went to go sit with the rest of the guys who came to celebrate Rogue’s retirement. Not long after Rogue asked Namyr to dance, this was an interesting turn of events as normally she had always asked Rogue to dance, Namyr nodded and together they headed towards the dance floor. The fast paced music flowed through the duo as they danced, Namyr’s arm around Rogueboy’s shoulders, his arms around her body holding her tightly to him. Namyr smelled of exotic flowers and the smell was intoxicating causing Rogueboy to feel as though she was a drug and he was addicted , together they grinded on the dance floor for what seemed like minutes and before they knew it an hour had passed. They went to the bar and ordered a bottle of booze, soon after they were drunk and hit the dance floor again, this time things were more intimate between the two of them, hands wandered more frequently, heads came and met more frequently exchanging kisses.

Wasn’t long after that Rogue was feeling intoxicated both from the alcohol and Namyr and together they exited the club walking back to Alex’s apartment. The former Raider had his arm around Namyr and together they laughed as they walked, weaving around the people that walked the streets. When they arrived outside the apartment building that Alex lived in, the Namyr seductively walked into a barely visible alcove while pulling Rogue inside.

Alex threw his arms around Namyr and lifted her, Namyr wrapped her legs around him and they began kissing. Rogueboy began feeling Namyr up as he started kissing her neck and chest and her arms were squeezing his buttocks. Just as things were starting to look promising, the sound of someone clearing their throat resounded from behind them. “Who is it?” Rogueboy whispered to Nams.

“Looks like a rent-a-cop.” She whispered back.

“TCD.” The man said as he flashed a badge. “Clear on out.”

The moment was ruined and the two of them headed into the apartment, locking the door behind him Rogueboy went into his room to change while Namyr went to the bathroom to wash up. When Namyr exited the bathroom and headed towards the pullout bed, Alex entered the bathroom and began washing up. When he exited he bid Nams good night and headed towards his room, just as he turned off the light his door opened.

It was Namyr and she seemed slightly nervous and unsure of herself. “Alex’eswo, would it be ok if...I spent the night here?”

Something had changed in Namyr since her and Riqimo broke up, she was more cheerful, more in control not to mention less bruised. Before Riq, Namyr and Rogue would try to get together but the rules got in the way. Now that Rogueboy was no longer enlisted the rules did not apply, the question is did Rogueboy feel the same way about Namyr or would he treat her as a cheap fuck? There was only one way to find out. “Yes you can.”

Namyr slipped out of her dress revealing her undergarments, not long after those were removed as well as Rogue and Namyr were freed from the bonds of rank and took great pleasure in doing so.

A kiss to her neck, a gentle squeeze to her Lekku, it had taken almost fifteen minutes to convince Rogueboy that her Lekku though sensitive could be touched without pain. Strong, warm arms wrapped around her holding her close as his soft lips found her own and kissed her. Namyr was glad that she hadn't drunk until she passed out, and she was also glad that she had finally found the strength to be this close to Rogueboy. Something had happened out on the dance floor, both of them were decent dancers, but tonight their bodies had been water, flowing against one another, they had both been able to sense how the other was moving, and on the dance floor they had almost felt like one. Namyr let out a low sigh, it had taken forever but she was where she wanted to be and content with it.

Warm spread over her and into Rogueboy's ear in just the slightest whisper, almost too quiet for her own ears to hear, "Alexander, I love you," she murmured before falling asleep in his arms.

The weight shifting on the bed woke Namyr into a groggy half sleep. She smiled giddily as she watched Rogueboy's bare behind make his way to the bathroom, groaning a little she stretched out underneath the warm blankets, the clock said it was nine in the morning. The horrible, painful, sinking feeling hit Namyr like a punch to the gut. This was the day that Rogueboy was going to leave, he was going to hop on the shuttle and leave forever. And what is she, no that was a million to one chance, still she wished they could have been more careful. Tears welled up in her eyes, Namyr couldn't face him, not before he left. Oh, Goddess what had she said last night, no she hadn't, no she couldn't have not right before he left. Panicked she flew out of bed, throwing on her clothes, grabbing the uniform she had left there the day before.

Her hand shook, the shower in the bathroom sputtered to life, desperately she tried to think of something the write, something to explain her speedy departure. Screw it, she might as well leave on a sour note to make the separation more bearable. Slipping on her shoes Namyr was out of the apartment and climbing into the cab before she could get ahold of herself.

"Where to?" the driver asked and Namyr gave him her apartment address. She spent little time in her apartment, enough to shower, change into her praying robes before she left her apartment again and headed for the Goddess Temple to pray.

Where the hell did she go? Rogueboy thought to himself as he got out of the bathroom. No note, nothing, it’s as if I was a one night stand. The thought stuck with Rogue as he headed into the kitchen to make himself some breakfast before he had to start packing. His dream was finally coming true, there was a sense of bitterness as Namyr’s last words felt like a slap to the cheek. “Alexander, I love you.” It could have been part of the dream he was having but Rogue doubted it. Knowing it would be pointless to attempt to justify Namyr’s actions with her words, and as the famous quote says; “actions speak louder than words.”

Fighting an intense desire to go to Namyr’s apartment and create a confrontation about her feelings and what last night meant, instead opting to go see whether or not he could go complete Patch today so that the little droid could help organize things for the trip to Dantooine. He had given his landlord three months notice and already a replacement bachelor had booked the rooms for an indefinite amount of time.

Just than Rogue’s datapad vibrated signalling a message had come in; opening it the message was from Leon. “Rogue where the fuck are you? Get on a holonet and call my office as fast as hyperspeed.” The tone was quick and Rogue determined authentic, this was not a prank.

Quickly hurrying to the kitchen where the holonet was located; more for convenience than any other real reason. “Leon’s office.” Rogue instructed the holonet and it quickly searched before connecting. “Leon, what’s going on?” He demanded.

“I got bad Kowakian monkey-lizard shit news, Raiders went on an emergency mission this morning and we’ve lost contact with them.” Leon said as he was obviously checking some things on his terminal.

“What in the maker…? I saw Namyr this morning.” Rogueboy nearly shouted at Leon, showing his frustration at the situation.

“I’m trying to access their mission and see where the hell they went but it’s all classified, I got my squad’s slicer hacking the VE database, so believe me I’m trying my best to find out where in the universe they are. Can’t be that far, so we should be able to get there soon and see what’s going on.” The Dark Dragoon’s squad leader said as he turned and yelled at his squad’s slicer.

“…We?” Rogueboy asked. “Leon, I’m retired. No more running and gunning for me.”

“Don’t you even pull that shit Rogue, I’m coming to pick you up and we’re heading to the starport. By than my man will have the location and mission objectives. If you have any more doubts in your mind, think Namyr was with them. Face it Rogue, Raiders is the only family you’ve ever really had. What weapons you have lying around the house?” Leon asked without looking at the holonet.

Not particularly liking the idea of going back into combat and having a really bad feeling about this one, Alex had nonetheless made up his mind to attempt to locate Raiders. “I got a secondary, and a melee. If you plan to raid the armoury before coming here I could use an A280 and if the location is off planet I can equip my upgrades during the flight. I also have some light armour, and I would need some grenades as well as a tactical grenade belt in which to hold them.”

“Alright, I’ll have the gear ready, and be at your place in say…twenty minutes.” Leon said before ending the call.

Not believing yet somehow compelling himself to get prepped Rogueboy opened a drawer and withdrew his sawn off blaster shotgun, double checking the safety was on, he tossed it on the bed. Jumping on the bed he reached for the shelf that hung over the bed, Rogue withdrew the gladius that was given to him as a sign of his freedom and tossed it on the bed as well. Opening his closet Alex searched through it for a few seconds before withdrawing a light blaster vest Rogue threw it over the shirt he was currently wearing. Now all there was to do was to sit and wait for Leon to come.

"Mayday, Mayday, is anyone there this is Sargent Namyr'Olgkru Lythune, requesting backup, or a pick up, we have injured and the temperature is dropping drastically, is anyone there! Damnit," her voice quivered a little, "We need help, enemy forces have us surrounded, Darr is down it's just me and the new soldiers. Anyone, anyone?"

"It's no use Sarge, we're on our own here," Fenris spoke holding the bandage over the cut over his eye.

"Fuck," Namyr growled lifting Darr's limp form back onto her shoulder, "Fen you got Mug?"

"Yeah."

"Let's go we have to find some shelter before it gets any worst," Namyr said wiping the sand from her visor. An Arctic desert, she wondered HAD wondered why the Empire hadn't tried setting up a port or base or something. The pretty much 24/7 sand blizzards explained it. Even if her message had gone through, she highly doubted it with all the disturbance, a ship could only land once every two earth days when the blizzards let up for the sunrise that rose the temperature enough to keep the storms at bay, and only then it was for twenty minutes at the most.

"Looks like there's a cave to the north," Namyr grunted into her communication device, "We'll take shelter there, help the injured more and hunker down for a while."

When they got to the cave, making sure there were no dangers inside they set up camp. With what little supplies they had, it was suppose to be a simple mission, they managed to have some shelter against the cold. After re-wrapping Mug's wounds, Namyr painfully slide down the wall to rest until her watch began. She coughed painfully, her still tender ribs aching from the hit she took and from the cold settling. It was hard to believe that earlier she had been warm, wrapped in Rogueboy's arms. She had actually sucked up her fears and had been heading to the shuttle port to see him off when she had gotten the call for the mission. there had been no time to call or prepare, Rakysh almost missed the shuttle. They hadn't even gotten the right information, it had just been a mission to scout out hostile activity that had been sighted recently. Then as a storm came up they had been taken by surprise and had to run.

"This is Sargent Namyr, we need help. If anyone receives this message I'm sending our position. If no one receives this, this is my last message as active Squad Leader of Raiders. Darr has been knocked out, several soldiers unconscious, temperature is dropping and supplies were slow to begin with. For the family members of my squad let them know their son and daughters served bravely. For myself, I never did have a will made, I leave what little I have to Rogueboy, he's the closes to kin I have. And if he can be found tell him, 'hey,' and I guess," Namyr paused for a moment, 'I meant what I said,' Sargent Namyr out."

“Alright we got the mission planet; Vernon. It’s a small planet not far from Tadath, it’s a barren planet that has an interesting atmosphere of sand and freezing temperatures...I packed the wrong gear.” Leon said as he immediately became disappointed with himself.

“Don’t beat yourself up about it. “ Rogue said trying to comfort the Dark Dragoon’s squad leader, last thing Rogue needed was Leon falling apart on him. Not that the soldier had often done it just Rogue did not want to spare the time picking up the pieces. “Alright this is the plan; we’re going to properly gear up, I can use those credits I’ve saved up to buy us some proper equipment.” Leon began protesting but Rogue cut him off. “This is my squad, if and when it is your squad, I’ll let you foot the bill.  Now we’re gearing up, grabbing a ship even if we have to hijack one, getting to that god forsaken planet, scanning for signs of life.” Rogue finished off.

Leon’s datapad started ringing and he picked it up. “The squad mission was a little recon on the planet, two audio transmissions came through. As of yet HC is currently in an important meeting and have asked to not be disturbed, so we can expect a response time of just over a day. Rogue you might want to hear this last part of the second transmission.” Leon said as he handed the datapad to Rogue, pressing the play button the former soldier listened. “For the family members of my squad let them know their son and daughters served bravely. For myself, I never did have a will made, I leave what little I have to Rogueboy, he's the closes to kin I have. And if he can be found tell him, 'hey, and I guess," Namyr paused for a moment, 'I meant what I said,' Sargent Namyr out."

“I would ask what she said, but I think that just might ruin the moment.” Leon said as he ruined the moment.

“We got to hurry the fuck up!” Rogue nearly shouted as they hopped into Leon’s speeder and went shopping for some warm clothes and armour; which unlike the STC snowtrooper gear and whatnot, actually works.

I have to save her, let her know how I feel.

With your luck when you get there she’s just gonna be another cold corpse and what are you left with? You spent most of the money you’ve saved up.

I know, but I just can’t let her die out there without doing everything in my power to try and save her.

Oh, you idiot! You’re in love aren’t you? Ha didn’t think we would live long enough to see the day you’d fall.

Exactly what are you again?

I’m a mixture of your subconscious and conscious, basically I represent the other side of you, balance your...better half if you will.

So you’re evil?

Not at all, plus we both know good and bad all depends which side of the fence you’re sitting on. I’m the more selfish part of you, which you need to balance the more forgiving side of you. Without me you would be broke and penniless on the street, whereas if you listened to me as an individual you will be better off.

So I suppose I should thank you?

No, but if your feelings for Namyr are as strong as I believe they are; go save the little Twi’lek.

Her lips were a deep purple, Namyr's hand shook as she tried to keep her eyes open.  She was so tired, so cold, she just wanted to forget about her watch and fall asleep.

"Nams what's the point of keeping watch yuo can barely hold the rifle straight," Fenris spoke from the huddle mass of people underneath the space blanket someone had thought of bringing along.

"Because," Namyr chattered her teeth hitting hard together as she shiver uncontrollably, "I'm the most Senior Officer and I take care of my troops.  Go back under the blanket, help will be here soon."

"But Nams," Fenris protested as a hail of fire started up again, the hired guns had been going on and off for the last four hours and someone needed to be alert enough to keep them from entering the cave.

"That's an order," Namyr hissed managing to fire off three rounds and hitting one of the men who were trying to sneak into the cave.  "Goddess I'm so far away from your earth, but I have nothing left.  Never before have I been afraid to die, never before have I had a reason to be afraid.  I'm so scared not for myself but for those who look to me for strength.  Now I'm repeating myself, its so cold and I'm so tired, please Goddess I beg you I need help!"

Namyr then chuckled a little, "At least I was able to tell him my heart," she murmured darkly taking another shot.

They had just finished booking passage to Vernon, Rogue did not trust the Rodian captain and his co-pilot Zabrek. Growing up on Coruscant and reaching maturity on Tattooine did not enforce feelings of trust into unknown people. Leon insisted that Rogue was being paranoid but as Captain Wac Jub was the only pilot that was willing to go to such a dangerous planet he would be worth every credit. There were two crewmen on the ship; one was the co-pilot while the other was the cook. Rogue quickly discerned that Wac Jub was a pathological liar as he loved to talk about himself and all the planets he has been on. The former Raider had been on a few of the planets that Wac Jub had been on and he did not see namana being used by the general public while he was a youngster in Coruscant.

Using the loaders Leon and Rogue quickly loaded the gear into the fairly small ship; Wac Jub looked over the manifest with a raised eyebrow. “Planning on going to war?” The Rodian asked in perfect basic.

Saying one word in Huttese without explanation Rogue simply said. “Tagwa.” Before turned around and going to take his seat next to Leon.

The ship ride was fairly eventful; twice they were boarded and scanned for smuggling by local authorities, and one time the klaxons and alarms went off signalling that something was in the way that should not be. Exiting hyperspace Rogue watched in mute fascination as a space battle was unfolding before their very eyes. An Imperial remnant force that Rogue was not familiar with was engaging Republic forces, for all he knew those were Vast Empire pilots however using that logic they could very well be Thrawnists on the edge of VE space preparing to invade. Currently that was not his problem; Wac Jub had just finished plotting a new course when one of the Republic’s corvettes started exploding.

The big ball of flame and wreckage was soon past as the ship headed into hyperspeed, and the frozen desert planet of Vernon appeared in the viewports. “Have you ever seen a planet that appears so unforgiving?” The Rodian captain asked.

“I’m sure we all have, take us down captain.” Rogue ordered as he was about to get his gear when the captain grabbed him by the shoulder.

“Are you crazy? Look at that storm! The ship will be torn to pieces before we get within 200 meters of the landing.” Wac Jub yelled.

“In that case give me an escape pod, I’ll load it up with the shit that I need, land, rescue my friends and you can come pick us up when it’s safe enough.” Rogue roared in the blue tinged alien’s face veins popping out from his neck like he uses when drilling the Raiders troopers.

“And what if you don’t show up? I could be waiting here a long time.” The Rodian said with a greedy glint in his eyes.

“Wait until the next cycle after you land that allows you to leave, no point waiting any longer then necessary.” The former Raider said coldly.

When both Leon and Rogue were inside the escape pod  the latter turned to the other. “And that is why we do not trust Rodains.”

Namyr licked her lips and was sluggishly surprised that even though she still had her helmet on she found cold frost on her lips.  Her fingers and toes were numb, her actions slow, so unlike her normal self.  Bitter, frozen tears stuck to her cheeks, "Mayday, Mayday, anyone, anyone at all," her hoarse whispered practically begged into her malfunctioning comlink, after being in the cold for so long it had finally fizzled out, not that Namyr had noticed.  Several times she had caught herself with her eyes closed dreaming of warm beaches.  She vowed that if she got out of this her and Rogueboy would go to one of the nice beach planets on their next leave and just bake in the sun until she was a purple-red and he was lobster red.  Namyr let out another chuckle, it hurt her head so she rested it against her arm.

Then she stood up, "Nams, what are you..." Fenris' voice chattered the light from the outdoors was rapidly fading and the cold was getting worst.  Around Namyr there were a few blaster rifle shots that had missed her completely.  She ripped off her helmet, her skin prickling slightly to the cold, luckily her Lekku had been bound tight to her head keeping them from frostbite, but now she didn't care.  If she could just give a little time for the rescue ships, if they were coming, if that would save the squad she didn't care about her Lekku.  Clutching her blades in her numb hands, she stumbles slowly towards the entrance of the cave, two stray blaster bolts hit both of her shoulders.  Blood ran freely down her arm, coating her hands, warming them with the thick liquid.  Her hand stung as they regained some movement.  Namyr rushed forward, blade drawn, flighting her last battle.

As the forces retreated for re-enforcements, Namyr fell to her knees her blood clumping the sand as she kneeled there, from the sky she looked up as a large pod shaped object shot down, firey from the planet's atmosphere and crashed nearby.  She watched for a moment, turning her head to the left to see more vehicles from the enemy forces coming nearer.  Struggling to her feet Namyr stood there waiting, waiting for her end.

The escape pod made contact with the soft soil; Rogue’s head snapped forward even through the safety precautions; looking to his side he could see that Leon had experienced the same jolt of shock and adrenaline that he did. Unbuckling the safety harness and pulling his A280 from the gun rack, he had to remind himself to thank Leon for getting Rogue the all too familiar rifle; going to battle without it just didn’t feel right.

Leon opened the pod’s door and nearly got pumped full of blaster fire for his efforts. “Rogue, they’re shooting at us.” The veteran squad leader yelled.

“Well...shoot back at them!” Rogue yelled as he looked outside the hatch and saw a stormtrooper with dual blades on her knees looking straight at the escape pod.

Something in Rogue snapped and he ran out of the escape pod, blaster bolts flying by so fast and close that it seemed as if he had a chance cube up his ass. Diving under a small dune near Namyr as a hail of bolts struck the sand where he would have been had he continued running. “Namyr is that you!” His hoarse voice cracked through the storm like lightening.

Sticking his gun around the corner, Rogue fired off a few blind shots in an attempt to keep the enemy’s heads down. Leon jumped right behind  Rogue, and gripped him on the shoulder to show that it was a friendly. “A little suppressive fire?” Asked Leon jokingly.

“Alex!” A feminem voice wailed out.

“Namyr! I’m on my way just hang in tight.” Was the automatic response from Rogue, the enemy had a response as well, a grenade landed less than a meter from Rogue. Initiating a dive kick that he learned when playing G-ball he kicked the grenade and it exploded in midair. Quickly popping his head over the dune Rogue quickly counted the enemy; three visible and an unknown invisible, Alex thought to himself.

Emptying his blaster clip at the enemy, Rogue ejected the empty clip and reached around his pack to grab a fresh one when an enemy jumped over the dune. Dropping the clip and reaching around for his sawn-off blaster shotgun and tugged, it moved an inch before resistance. The holster was closed, knowing that Rogue did not have the time to unsnap it and pull the gun out he launched himself at his enemy. Grabbing the enemy’s rifle with one hand while using the other to throw a jab, quickly finding himself on his back Rogue wondered what the hell just happened. The other trooper had shoulder charged Rogue and had instead trampled and tripped over him, looking over his shoulder he saw the enemy trooper rising to get to his feet. Grabbing his left foot and pulling caused the other soldier to stumble and fall back down, on top of Rogue. With the enemy’s back towards him the former Raider wrapped his arms around his throat and his legs around his waist. Not allowing the man to breathe and crushing the air out of him.

The man was dead within seconds , and just as Rogue let go of him, Leon popped his head up from around the corner. “The rest of the Raiders made an appearance, the enemy routed.”

Wind gushed aroun Namyr as a pod crashed into the earth, sand flew everywhere, she covered her eyes against the gritty grains.  She coughed painfully, the blood running down her shoulder freezing in the bitter cold, she looked puzzled as through her hazy eyes she say that the enemy fire had been diverted to two people coming out of the pods.  She felt as if she was in a dream, reconizing the movement of one of the figures.  No it couldn't be, why would he be here he should be on his way to somewhere warm and relaxing.

“Namyr is that you!” The figure's hoarse voice pierced through the wind, Namyr's throat went dry.  That voice, those shoulders, the fact he was hitting the target, Goddess had heard her pleas, it was Rogueboy, he had come to save her.

Clutching her blades as tight as her numb fingers could Namyr ran forward, "Alex!" she wailed, her heavy feet pounding against the sand.  Enemy and friendly fire skipped around her, Namyr coughed painfully again covering her mouth as she ran over a dune.  A crack from behind her then a horrible shearing pain run down Namyr's back.  Her legs kept traveling as she headed down the dune.

"Alexander," she murmured upon seeing him, she held out her hand, her fingers almost touching his before she collapsed.

"Nams, NAMS!" she heard Rogueboy scream turning her to face him and hold her, "Damnit Nams, why didn't you stay put," he spoke his voice shaking.

Namyr murmured something and smiled a little and coughed again, her usually bright white teeth stained with blood.  "Alex'eswo," she murmured still looking pleased her fingers curling around his neck, 'You came," she murmured quietly before closing her eyes.

Namyr shivered, she was cold, very cold, her teeth chattered.  Pulling the blanket over her head she tried to warm herself a little more, until a shearing pain raced up her back.  "OUCH!" she cried out, tears prickling her eyes, "What the hell?" she questioned looking at the bandages around her chest, shoulder, and stomach.  Pulling the blanket off of her face she looked around the small officer's quarters of a ship.  Namyr groaned, where was she, and what happened?
