I've added some site advertisements on the main VE page as well as the ComNet. If you weren't logged in and came to the sites, you probably would have already seen these.
I have now updated the sites to show advertisements to all members as well as non-members. They aren't going to be all over the place, so don't worry; and if you use an ad blocker, you probably wouldn't have seen them anyways.
If you do have an ad blocker, please disable it for the VE sites. We get money from the advertisers for page impressions as well as clicks. So any amount can always help.
These advertisements will be tested to determine how well they perform. If they are kept, I will be providing members a way to opt out of seeing any advertisements on the Vast Empire and Imperial Network sites.

I noticed them at noon and found it strange. i had never seen advertisements on here before so i thought I was on the wrong place.
If it gives the VE money , I guess it's all for the good . |

Eh, I haven't seen anything offensive. In fact, I didn't even notice the ads were there until you told me. I'm fine with 'em, if they help keep the VE going. Hey, the less he has to pay for it the better, and that meens that random money he decides to put into the site can only improve us. Kad's worked so hard, I think people will be willing to pay a little here or there to not see ads too. I've added a new advertisement on the ComNet in the upper right; so you've probably already noticed it by now.
I tried to blend it into the current ComNet design as much as possible; so if anyone notices any problems with it, let me know.
As far as what I've seen, there are a few interesting ads coming through. They don't all seem to be commercial ads; so it's quite a contrast from the Google ad network.
If you decide to click on one of the ads, it will be opened up in a new window; so don't worry about having the ComNet close.
