Hmm... I could make an entire map like this. It could be like 1000 px by 1000 px. I could put every system, and when you went over the system, you would encounter a map of the system, and when you went over the map (over a planet), you would get info on the planet.

Well, the VE retreated due to its subsequent lack of tactical value, and it's presumably in Thrawnist hands. I suppose they might retake it, but its only value was as a biological weapons research center...

this seems like its going to be a tricky project....espically with all the planets. Most likely if were going to do a star map, then we'd do just the planets in "VE Space".

Modifying our local systems maps to conform to the new atlas. Ibram, of course, has a LOT more systems, but I can pop in the main ones and add the other canon worlds we're going to use.
For reference, we're going to set up shop in the G/H-17/18 grid squares, leaving some dead space for our other worlds. Thinking of a three prong trade lane connection to the Corellian Trade Spine from a) Shiritoku Way/Spar Trade Route/Great Gran Run from Annaj to Kinyen, b) Koda Spur from Koda to Gerrenthum, and c) Lipsec Run from Lipsec to Isde Naha. Once I can get some map work done, this might make more sense.
Not every planet on these lanes will be VE run but I don't yet see a lot of NR activity in the region.
Getting this set up is key to establishing the mythical Chapter 9 plot. This is a LOT more work than I thought but I hope it will work for you all. I'm going to hopefully add either wiki or comnet posts explaining the "history" of the plot setup in the coming weeks (probably a couple months to be honest). In short, what Corvin said.
For the alphanumeric sections, refer to the new atlas. I was hopefully just helping out those who were discussing it. Plus adding some thoughts regarding modifying the map for our uses.
I have received confirmation of the font used in the map (Minion Pro - ask me for it if you want it) and will hopefully spend some careful time working on it in .psd format.
