Ok. HSC is up and we've managed to get to skip over the fluffy filler "SPAM writer heaven" crap.

Current Objective: Defend the bar!

Details: The Dominion has been boarded through escape pod bays after our pods were jettisoned by an infiltrator. We have been sent to the bar area to eliminate the boarders who got on the ship there.

Weaponry: Personal gear for now, keep it realistic please.

Armor: We were in the process of changing into our "uniforms" (undercover gear), when the alarms sounded. Therefore Angel dressed the squad in what was readily available (since the "uniforms" stink) and we are now running around in pink bathrobes and bunny slippers.

Let's get to work kiddos.

OK. The HSC is back online.

Mission: We will be entering the base via the storage bay after Palancer and Blackjack clear it out. (This could take days with all the filler crap). Then we will sweep the facility for the central computer. We are looking for an Anti-Virus to neutralize the one plaguing the STC. Also we'll try to find anything else useful in the computers. After that, mop-up.

Weapons/Armor: Standard Equipment with the exception of snowtrooper armor. Please, nothing extravagant. You can only carry so much for an extended time frame. For example, Angel will be bringing IR-5 repeating blaster pistols and his StA51-SLAR. That's it.

I have no idea what Cosmic wants us to post until Palancer and BJ does their jobs, so write fluff if you feel you can do it well. Otherwise try to come up with something to do mission related.

Im putting this up, just to serve as a reminder. Though so far, each and every post the Jesters have made was awesome Behave and  Angel and I will bring out some new presents for you sig sooon.

1. Squad Philosophy

The general sate of mind held by the present Stormtrooper Corps is the sacrifice of quality for quantity. Emphasis is placed not on the writing process itself, but how many posts can be churned out in as little time as possible. Personally, I find this a great barrier to writing anything but the typical slash and dash, shoot'em up stories, which have their time and place, but get old quickly for many people. Sure, stories have varying places and objectives, but in the end they all devolve into five or six troopers slaughtering hundreds of nameless goons.

This in turn, (as well as the plethora of promotions ensuing from massive post counts racked up from horribly sub-par posts and post lengths) has lead to disgruntled veterans sick of writing the same stories over and over, opting to retire and leave the army without its all important senior members.

Recently Cosmic has proposed returning to the quality over quantity stature, and I envision Jester being the spearhead of that campaign.

Kami and I attempted to do this with Iron Horse, and I previously had tried it with Raiders. I met with limited success, because I found that those in the lower ranks, mostly, we uncomfortable writing on something that challenged them to reveal things about their character (mostly because they never put much thought into their characters in the first place)

We will be writing intensive, complex stories about espionage, investigations, betrayal, and many other topics that require depth of character and the ability to immerse ones self in an idea. We have to develop characters that are not our own, developing the Vast Empire universe.
