Well, first, you have to go to Viridian City and talk to the guy who teaches you to catch pokemon. Make sure your rare candys that you have are in the sixth item slot on your PC, and then head for Cinnabar Island.
Use swim with any one of your pokemon and surf up and down the east side of the coast. When the unknown pokemon appears, catch it, or kill it, and then return to your pc.
Move the rare candys to the first slot and push backwards on the number you want to withdrawl, and it should go immediately to 99.

Wouldn't Pokemon be so much cooler if they actually tore eachother apart and had blood and gore? I would watch it... I am not real. How can you be talking to something that doesn't exhist.
