Howdy there- I'm the training officer (TO) of the Vast Empire Naval Academy (VENA). Our staff, the VENA-S, is composed of trainers and operators, all who can be seen at the following website:
http://www.vastempire.com/wiki/index.php?title=VENA_Staff
Now that you've posted here on the ComNet, you've actually completed the Imperial Initiation (II) phase of Basic Training (BT). BT's second phase is called Flight School (FS), which is made up of three chapters and an exam. The first chapter, and probably the most important aspect of our system, is that of Character Creation- the bio. In order for your character to exist in our club, our universe if you will, you need to create them in written form, detailing their stories, their personalities and the physical aspects that we may be aware of with a glance or perhaps things we can not see with the naked eye. Either way, you're going to tell us how to describe you're character in a more detailed fashion than you're probably used to, but that's part of the fun
So, if you'll follow the link below, you'll be able to see the entirety of Flight School, the portion of BT I was referring to above. BT is, essentially, training and thus, once you've passed through it, you're going to be placed in an Active Squadron, in 'Active Duty'. So, depending on how well you do here against the recruits currently training here, you'll receive a rank at the end of your training and receive certain recommendations or promotions. You'll want to go to Chapter 1- Character Development. So, lets get off to a good start and get you goin- Rock On!

Short Bio:
Name: Eridamius Abrituviel
Pronunciation: Air-eh-day-me-us A-bre-tu-vee-el
Age: 18
Race: Human/male
Ethnicity: Greek/Chinese
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 150 lbs
Build: Defined
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black
Skin Tone: Light Brown
Pilot Personality Similar Too: Ace
Eridamius Abrituviel was born to Lastius and Leng Fa (Samantha) Abrituviel in the city of Argonis, on the planet Mars, in the Sol System. Since birth, Eridamius was smaller in comparison to those born of the same year. Having been raised in the Chinese fashion, Eridamius was taught to serve others before himself. That meant strangers, friends, and especially family. During school, he was always picked on for his lack of size and his selfless attitude. However, whatever Eridamius lacked in size, he made up for in speed and intelligence. Eridamius was the fastest at his school. He loved running around the field while no other person could catch him. In the classroom, Eridamius was always the first to raise his hand. Eventually, he learned how to outsmart the teachers and perplex them with complicated rebuttals. For this, Eridamius has always valued speed, guile, and cunning over brute strength alone. Always taught to lead and others will follow, Eridamius never conformed to any of the social groups at his school. Since Eridamius lacked size, he developed a slight inferiority complex. He is always eager to please and gain the approval of his peers and teachers. This causes him to periodically display behavior described as excessive showmanship. This does not stop him however, with his dive and determination he seeks to join the Imperial Navy, using his intelligence and his swiftness to excel at the academy. Eridamius dreams of flying among the stars with other pilots of the Navy, and hopes of becoming the best.

Welcome to the Navy Eri. I don't have authority to approve your biography, but from what I understand you're eager to take the next step.
From here you will goto the Flight Maneuvers page on the Wiki and choose the two maneuvers you understand the best. With these you basically give the what, why, and how in your own words and your general thoughts about each maneuver. Post them here when you're done and I'm sure one of the trainers will come and grade your work.
Regarding your bio...wondering where/why you include Greek/Chinese (not to mention Mars, but that may or may not be acceptable...not sure)...we are in the Star Wars universe, Greek and Chinese don't really exist here. Just a heads up. ----------------------- Senior Chief Petty Officer 'Tomas' Dagoram

Offensive:
Lag Pursuit: If your target breaks into a tight breaking turn the pursuer may follow by commencing Lag Pursuit. This is initiated when the attacker follows the defender, matching his turning speed and radius, and remaining in the defender's blind spot, just below the tail.
Defensive:
Break Turn: Used when an attacker is on your tail. Initiate the break turn by rotating the spacecraft 90 degrees on its axis then pulling back on the joystick making the ship produce a tighter turn radius.

Ok thanks Tomas, I just used Greek/Chinese to explain my name and raising. Also I put Mars because I figured Earth was depleted of resources. Maybe I'll change it to Courascant

Alright- pretty decent bio, man. Obviously, as Tomas noted, you can't include such obvious objects of interest like Mars or the Chinese culture. If you'd like to keep the chinese culture, you have only to re-name it. As for Mars: you already created a city that doesn't exist- might as well go for a planet. You mentioned maybe going to Coruscant instead- we actually have a problem there. A lot of new recruits have been choosing it in vain actually because the Imperials that resided on that planet at the time your character would probably have tried joining up were... Not us If there were imperials at all that is- the New Republic is already established by this period in our time-line, so if you're character is just joining up now, there's no way they'd find Imperial propoganda on the surface. There might be some lower organizations bent on bringing the Empire back, but nothing of real power or influence. So- I might suggest that you start with a planet outside of Coruscant or find a way to get your character off planet. Either way, the Imperial Faction known as the 'Vast Empire' is in the Unknown Regions of space and you would have to kind of 'know-somebody' or come across one of the rare interior recruiting stations in order to find out about it.
Truthfully- that's about the only hole in your story, there: how your character just 'decided' to join the VE Navy. Maybe the only other thing, and this is just to give you a better understanding of your character, would be to indicate- why the Navy? You character has an inferiority complex- fine, but he could have risen above that in any other way. Is there some kind of stigma to the Imperial Navy in your neck of the woods? Like that's the best of the best and he has to be there? I mean- there's so many things to consider. Not that we need to be overally technical, but these concepts are what help build your character: does he realize that he's going to be killing people if he makes it as a pilot? Does he realize he might die? Is he foolish? Arogant? Egotistical? All of those traits could help your character bypass the questions produced above. Now- that's just me Either way, if you could add a little more meat to the bio- that helps your fellow posters as well as yourself when writing.
For your tactical assignment: pretty decent- you understood what you were talking about. I'd just like to point out that 'lag pursuit' is a tactic and not necessarilly a maneuver. I'll accept it on the basis that you're the first person to pick this 'tactic' as opposed to the sandwhich, but I thought I'd make the distinction none the less. SO! That's pretty much BT- all we have to do now is create a VE Wiki for you, which is going to be the most complex but really not all that complex part. It helps a lot if you can jump onto mIRC and get help from myself (FMJR) or just about anyone else in the main channel. Lemme know if you can or can not do that- we'll have options either way. Thanks to Tomas for picking up my slack, btw. Keep rcokin, folks. ----------------------- *Flash Was Here...*

I have created a template Wiki for you to fill out Eridamius. Most of the sections are covered in the biography you have already done. The others are pretty easy to fill out. If you need any help let me know.
http://www.vastempire.com/wiki/index.php?title=Eridamius
Don't worry about/edit the Pilot Profiency stuff at the bottom (Trainee/Inept stuff). That you will do here, and I will update it for you accordingly. The details can be found at this link:
http://comnet.imperialnetwork.com/topic/8022/
Post here, using the following format. As a trainee you are allowed to assign 3 points in the Proficiencies, and 2 in Weapon Profiencies. This decides what part of combat, flying, etc your character excels/struggles in. You will get more points to assign as you further your Naval career. Once again, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Pilot Rating: Trainee
Proficiencies:
Technical:
Reconnaissance : Trainee ( 0 )
Escort: Trainee ( 0 )
Infiltration: Trainee ( 0 )
Bomber:
Space Bombadeer: Trainee ( 0 )
Ground Support: Trainee ( 0 )
Attacker:
Dogfight: Trainee ( 0 )
Elemental: Trainee ( 0 )
Weapon Proficiencies:
Proficiencies:
Small arms: Inept ( 0 )
Heavy Weaponry: Inept ( 0 )
Explosives: Inept ( 0 )
Melee: Inept ( 0 )

All that's left for now is your Wiki, Eridamius. After that you'll be placed in a squadron to get used to how we work and to build relationships within your squadron as soon as possible. You will also be asked to write the Aviator's exam. This will be due by the end of your first week (seven days, not calendar-wise) in a squadron.
If you need any direction with the Wiki take a look at some of the others and if you're still having trouble, I'm on IRC quite a bit in the evenings (and on the weekends).
Keep at it Eri, you're doing great. ----------------------- Senior Chief Petty Officer 'Tomas' Dagoram

Hey Eridamius, just wanted to let you know about the newly-implemented Academy story. It can be found on the Naval Story Board by the name "Battlefront: Suvari Conflict (VENA)". Most of what you need to know is in the first post, but if you have any questions feel free to ask me. It's pretty unrestrictive, so have fun and take the chance to get used to writing in the VE before being placed in a squadron.
Note: This isn't required for graduation from the Academy, but I'd recommend giving a try so you can get a feel for the writing here.
