"So, are you ready?" Will asked Kal as they both walked out from the hall and entered the hanger.
"Ready for what?" Kal returned with a question, a littled confused by Will's question.
"You'll see." Will said.
"Sir, your fighter is fueled and ready for flight." A tech ran up and reported to Will when he saw the two pilots enter the hanger.
"Great. Thanks." He swiftly walked past the tech and headed for the lifts that would take him to the upper level of the hanger, where he could enter his ship. Kal followed as he was ordered.
When they reached the second level, Kal finally let out his question, "Will, what are we doing up here anyways? There isn't a single fighter we can fly. The only one even prepared for flight is probably that wierd looking Tie that I've never even seen before."
"Yea, so?"
"So, what are we going to fly?"
"That."
"If it's what you're flying, then what am I going to fly?"
"That."
"You mean, I'll get to fly it? Cool"
"The answer to that question would a yes, and a no."
Kal looked so confused, Will wasn't sure he'd seen a more confused person in his life. "It's a yes because you are going to be flying in it. The no was to what your question implied. No you won't get to fly it."
If Kal looked confused before that explination, Will wasn't sure what he is now. "That fighter, the Tie Phantom, is usually crewed by two pilots. Thus, you are going to be my copilot."
"Oooooh. You could've said that at the begining."
"If I did, then I wouldn't've been able to get that priceless look from you face." Will said, then turned to climb into the open cockpit. Kal ignored the comment, and dropped into the copilot seat behind Will.
"This is a nice fighter." Kal complemented, donned his helmet, then proceeded into preflight. "Everything's green." He reported to Will.
"Confirmed." Will replied. "Kaph 1 to flight control. We are showing all greens. Ready for departure."
"Roger. Kaph 1, you are cleared for takeoff."
Will activated the repulsor lifts, easing the fighter out of the hanger. Then pushed the throttle to ninety percent.
"So, what do I do if you're doing all the piloting?"
"To start off, you can give me a source to this coordinate." Will proceeded to send the coordinates to the navigation computer. "Secondly, you are also the 'weapons officer' of this ship. Which means, when we're in battle, you have to aim and fire, while I do my best to give you a good lock."
"Gotcha. I've plotted a course to the coordinates you gave me. Anything else before we jump to lightspeed?"
"Just sit back and relax. and enjoy the view of hyperspace."
"My information is a little unclear, but if I remember correctly, isn't the coordinates you just gave me Etchik Shipyards?"
"Indeed."

"This is Etchik control to unknown fighter. You are entering restricted space. Please state your business in Etchik space, or divert your course immediatly. I repeat, you are entering restricted space."
"Someone sounds welcome." Kal whispered.
"This is Kaph one to Etchik control. Over." Will responded to the order.
"We have you on screen Kaph one. Please submit your personal code." The voice that came out of the com unit was almost beautiful compared to the harsh voice they were greeted with only a few seconds ago.
"Submited. Requesting permission to dock."
"Achknowledged. Code accepted. Please proceed to hanger one. Welcome back, Sir, to Kaph zero."
"No place like it."
Will cruised around to the other side of the shipyard, where they came head on, with the ship, complete on the outside, that was docked to the shipyard. From the front, a tall tower stood at the top of a round ball. A hanger opening was visible at the center of the ball. As Will flew closer, the fork in the nose of the ship became visible, as well as many other features of the ship.
"I'll be God damned." Kal whispered. "Tell me I'm dreaming."
"Not anymore." Will said proudly. "What you see here, is what you dreamed of only six months ago. The very ship that we designed. She now floats in front of you."
"Kaph zero to Kaph one, Sir, you are cleared to dock at hanger one. This is certainly a surprised visit. Is there anything you'd like to be prepared for your arrival, Sir?" A different voice came over the com unit now.
"Yes, I would like the bridge crew to assemble in the hanger, and await my arrival. That will be all."
"Yes, Sir. Consider it done. Kaph zero out."
"All this time, and you never told me."
"Don't think it's a nice surprise? I would think so."
Will eased the fighter into the central hanger, then settled down on a stand that allowed the pilot to exit onto the floor of the hanger, instead of having to climb to the walk way, then down a lift. As Will climbed out of the cockpit, two groups of B-2 battle droids, in single file, marched to either sides of the ladder that lead fromthe cockpit, followed by a group of men in crisp uniform, as well as a magna guard. One of Will's personal assistants.
