You could prolly find tutorials on google if you really wanted a proper and neat one, but I thought I'll post one for our very own VE community. Sorry if I went too fast with this,
Drawing for noobs: Version 1.0
Introduction:
Drawing and sketching is fun, its something I literally wake up and go to bed with in my mind. I actually use my mannequin sometimes a teddy bear
I'm not fond of doing fan-art, but I've made them, and it really used to irk me, when my proportions failed to fit in with each other. Still does. I could easily sit on Google for hours and just search for some drawing and sketching tips, and tutorials, not made for a Leonardo Da Vinci.
What I want to cover in this tutorial is 'The Human Body'
The following headings will explain a few aproaches which I've worked with.
Stick figures:
Yes, we did them when we were toddlers. I know
But, stick figures serves as a very basic skeleton to the character you are drawing, it also serves as a skeleton for the character's attitude and emotional state.
See sketches below for example.
Spheres, Cylinders, Cubes and Cones
The human body can be broken down to the most basic of form, which is
Spheres:
Cylinder

Cubes:
Cones:
This just makes it easier to flesh out the stick figure, but not something I follow faithfully, though for people who are just beginners or something in that line, its quite necessary to know it.
Combining these 4 forms, you would get something like this:

The guy seems a bit miserable
Muscle Groups
In order to understand the human body I studied the muscle groups.
I cannot say much on this topic, except show a few screen shots, and to PRACTISE!

My step by step drawing:
Step 1. Stick man
I don't like to draw a formula, but keep in mind that about 7 heads of your character's head should fit into the character's body.
I usually draw my sticks figure medim soft and light, not to hard, not to soft, I add flesh very softly. Don't put to much thought into one arm or eye. Finish the proportions first because it often happens that ever so perfect eye you drew did not fit in with the face, and you have to erase.

Step 2: Fleshing
Step 3:More fleshing and adding detail.
Ive started to divide the body into its proper muscle groups as well as giving the head a less deformated shape

And of course, a pair of shorts.
Step 4:
Notice the huge hands and feet?
This is where I went out of proportion, I enlarged it, the hands especially for you to see a bit more detail and ooh looky! He shot an arrow with a bow! And some hair with a pair of eyes, nose and mouth would do him as well I suppose. Notice how the face and the brow curved with the bridge of the nose?
Step5:Cleanup,
Not one of best since I pressed so hard with my pencil to keep the stick in picture

Add some basic shadow at the feet to give him some ground.

_____________________________________________________________
With the basics done, you can basically do anything, well almost anything

These sketches can easily be scanned and coloured in Photoshop, or any other program deemed fit for such purposes. See Examples below:

My conclusion to this tutorial is:
Don't be afraid to make mistakes, don't be afraid to work rough. And stick man is not just for a kid.
This is all from my side, for now that is.
Watch this Comnet for a tut about shadows,
