Firstly, we have been on leave for a while, so you can expect a drop in activity - but its over now. Secondly, I do agree. I have been a bit lax with getting exam results to people lately, and I know theres several people who have been slightly lax at their jobs. But, as we speak, I am updating the VENA website so exam results will be sent to g5 I'll also check my (overflowing) inbox, and check what exams haven't been sent out yet. Thirdly, the Navy is just as active as it has been since.. well, since it started getting active again You're just not seeing as much because the VEHC has finally got themselves into gear (I've seen Paan, RF, Daishi and g5 doing more work than they've ever done lately ), and we're not relying as much on the Squadron and Wing commanders to get things done. Also, if you check the roster, there has been some big shake ups, with new fleets, new squadrons and new ships being added. Fourthly (hehe), we need RECRUITING! For every 10 new recruits we get, we only find one gem of a member - Dare springs to mind   The more we recruit, the faster we fill squadrons.. and new squadrons need new Squadron Commanders *wink wink*. Fifthly, keep in touch with the people above you. Flight members, make sure you know your Flight Leaders and Squadron Commanders, and keep in touch with them. Flight Leaders, keep in touch with your Squadron Commanders. Squadron Commanders, keep in touch with your Wing Commanders and Ship Captains. Everyone should also know who the NCC, NXO, TAC and TO are (no TO right now though), and its quite a good idea to forward any report you make to the NCC and NXO, so they can keep a record of it - also save reports to your hard drive. Talking of reports, I've had a few queries about what you should have in it. Allow me to tell you Reports are incredibly easy. You just have to use common sense. Start it politely, using the superiors rank, callsign and position, i.e. "Officer Candidate Kain Rennok, Aegis Squadron Commander," If you want it sent to other people, such as the NCC, do the same underneath, i.e. "Rear Admiral Paan, Naval Commander in Chief," Now for the main text. Remember to MISS A LINE! Start the text with something formal but friendly, i.e. "Greetings, OC Kain Rennok, RA Paan!" After this, don't miss a line, but go down one, and indent the text (hold down space bar until the text cursor is underneath the last letter). State clearly what the report is, i.e. "Aegis Squadron Flight 2 Report -" Go on to say what your flight has done in the past week. This section should be split into 3 parts- 1) What your flight did in regard to the Navy 2) What your flight did in regard to the Squadron 3) What your flight did in regard to the Flight If this is a squadron report, it should be split into Navy, Fleet, and Squadron. If its a Wing, it should be Navy, Fleet and Wing, etc etc. If its personal, it should be what you did in regard to the Navy, the Squadron and your own Flight. Type a small paragraph about what your wing/squad/flight/yourself did in regard to the Navy. It should mention things like Navy competitions, Storys, assisting members of the NHC, etc. Something like this- "In the last week, my flight/squad/wing/myself (delete as appropriate) has participated in a variety of activities in regard to the Navy. These include the Chapter 7 storyline, which I have seen a huge amount of activity for. My members have also entered a competition, the , and scored . Blah blah blah blah. etc etc" Next, talk about your squadron/wing/ship/flight, etc. Simply say what you did with your flight. This can be as simple as saying you kept in touch, and had an IRC meeting (if you have an IRC meeting, be sure to attach the log of it to the email). This is a good time to say who has been very active, and might deserve medals and/or promotions (remember this: While the majority of the medals can only be awarded by Wing Commanders and above, ANYONE can recommend ANYONE for a medal and promotion). Next, talk about the smallest part - yourself, flight, etc. This is as simple as saying "In the last week, I have posted approximetly 20 times on the storynet, kept in touch with my superiors and attended an IRC meeting (log attached)." Remember this: The 3 sections of this part of the report should be split up into- 1) The biggest section (i.e. Navy), 2) The second biggest section (i.e. your Squadron), and 3) The smallest section (i.e. your flight). You should ALWAYS say what you have personally done yourself as well. Finally, recommendations, queries, comments, complaints, questions etc. At the end of your report, if you have something to say which isn't suitable for the comnet, SAY IT! It doesn't matter if its in a list. In fact, its better if it is, because its easier to read. Simply ask away, in as mature a fashion as is possible, i.e. "For my Squadron Commander: I recently saw that was promoted past me, while I am sure that promotion was deserved by myself. Could you give me any tips on what to do to obtain such a promotion? For the Navy Commander in Chief: I would like to propose a competition for the Navy. It would be a . Perhaps when you are free, we can discuss it further?" Thats it, folks I know, it looks a bit hard, but its incredibly easy once you've done it a couple of times. Heres a full example report, from.. from WO1 Fallen (off the top of my head) - SUBJECT: Aegis Squadron, Flight 3, position 3 (WO1 Fallen) report TO: ATTACHMENTS: AegisMeeting.txt, Flight3Meeting.txt , Aegis Flight 3 Leader, Ensign Kain Rennok, Aegis Squadron Commander, Rear Admiral Paan, mSSD Atrus Ship Captain, Captain Riel Fury, Naval Executive Officer, *salute* In the last week, I have participated in a variety of activities in regard to the Navy. These include the Chapter 7 storyline, which I have been very active for, posting at least 3 paragraphs for each post, with about 20-30 posts. I have also participated in the Booyah! Competition, which I am sure you are well aware of. I scored 34 points, coming second place. In regard to my Squadron, I have posted on the Aegis Squadron story, at least 10 times, and have been promoted from WO2 to WO1 at the recommendation of my Squadron Commander, Ensign Kain Rennok. I also helped maintain the Aegis Squadron website ( www.whatever.com ), and participated in the Aegis Squadron weekly IRC meeting. In regard to my Flight, I have created the Flight 3 website ( at www.whatever.com ), and ran the Flight 3 meeting, in the absence of my Flight Leader, , who is on leave until the 16th of January. A fellow Flight member, has also gone on leave until the 9th of January. In the last week, in regard to myself, personally, I have maintained contact with my superiors (including EN Rennok, RA Paan, CAP Riel Fury), and made several medal recommendations. I would also like to recommend for a Merit Cross, as he has maintained activity for a long period of time. I also think RA Daishi, TAC, is eligible for the Imperial Grand Cross, as he has maintained activity for a long time, and been a valuable asset to the Vast Empire Navy. I also think that my Squadron Commander, Kain Rennok, should be promoted to 2nd Lieutenant for his work in maintaining and running the Squadron. I have a query I would like to ask the NXO- Will a Captains Own award be given to a Squadron on the mSSD Atrus? I believe that Aegis is very deserving of it. Sincerly, Warrant Officer 1st Class Fallen *salute* --------- Report over. See how easy it is? Just say things like that. If you type a few sentances every day, you'll do the entire report over the week. I'm not sure how often you should send them in (Sythspawn had them every 2 weeks), so ask your superiors about that. With a bit of luck, they'll respond to this post

well while everyone keeps blabbing off we never found out exactly what Artrus thought was wrong and theres no way to fix that without him telling us that so i believe we need a response from him next.
