I agree with Skarr here. You're allowed to "use" another character and express their inner thoughts and feelings, but typically only in moderation. When I say this, I mean that you're allowed to write a character and have them thinking simplistic things such as "Frak. I can't believe that didn't work. If only there was some other way to get around it." rather than overly complicated, long and drawn out philosophical musings.
