IRC help please

This is the first time i have experianced trouble with IRC.

Everytime i try to connect it says: unable to find server...i tried all the servers Jakireth sended me and nothing works.

So i tried java chat and it also isn't working.

Now ive tried pIRC, and i dunno if it is working because the whole time it says to me :invalid name....bluddy crap,

I actually went through the manual, but it said nothing of the name, and ya...so if anyone could maybe help me?

I think though the problem might be my firewall or comp, i just reghosted it. hm

EDIT: just tested, it isn't my firewall

Just to answe Talon's question: I have have no idea, but i remember now that my dad mentioned something about resetting the firewall, so it might have bin thatm cause its working now.
