I thought the movie was very well done. I didn't read the book, but from what I've heard, it followed the book pretty well.
Despite the accuracy of the ending, I think I would have rather seen some aliens getting blown up pretty good. Have the Humans figure out something.

Uh, you guys can label me as a "complainer because the army didnt kick any ass", I mean, we got slaughtered big time, I wish someone could have just nuked those mother @#!$%#@. When Ray blew up the tri-pod with the grenades, I stood up and clapped. It just ticked me off the way the ending was too, it leaves you hanging way too much. Other than that, it was great, had me on the edge of my seat. -----------------------

I dont know what a nuke would do - probably just destroy us, and they'd still be standing. But yeah, I wanted to see some hand-to-hand combat or something. :P But that would deviate from the real thing. -----------------------

Still, seeing fellow humans being torn apart by death-rays and the little alien dudes just pressing the buttons safely inside the tri-pods pissed me off. I was kind of hoping that crazy guy in the basement would have shot the aliens when they came down, although it would have meant them being attacked, but its the movies, come on. -----------------------

I have to agree, I really liked the movie. Dakota Fanning is a very good child actress, especially in WoTW.
My favorite part was when the first tripod burst from the ground and everyone just stared at it. -----------------------

I think I was the loudest one in the theatre, it was funny though. Almost got kicked out for swearing excessively....
Anyway, I just think the military could have done more, I wanted to see a huge fight, it would have made the movie better, even if we still lost... -----------------------

The story was supposed to be kinnda first person of the father and his kids, and they didn't see any battles eccept that one(kinnda).....So thats why there wasn't much fighting though it would have made it better. -----------------------
