  Naval Character Development Project Idea

Nazgul Squadron has been focusing on character development and writing more description about their charater's thought and emotional traits so that gave me an idea for the navy.

My Idea:

Establish a committee comprising of one active member from each squadron and one other person who can make or maintain a simple website.  One of the members will be elected/appointed chair of the committee.

Each navy member will be encouraged to add to their bio so as to have more indepth character physical description and as much insight into their emotional and thought traits as possible.

Each member on the committee will be responsible for collecting these descriptions and forwarding any updates to the website as well.  In addition, each member on the committee will be responsible for keeping track of each squadron member's service record starting from the point at which the committee is established.  If the committee members desire a side project, they can add to the service records by going back in time for each active navy member though this will not be an immediate requirement.

All information, descriptions, and service records will be put on a user friendly website to be linked to the naval website.  This will provide all members with a readily accessible database of crucial information for story writing.

Why have I proposed this?

After talking in Nazgul, we realized that our stories were rather wooden, rarely engaging in enough character development or descriptions about emotions and body language.  Therefore, we felt, if we knew about each character indepth, we could write better, more consistent, and more accurate stories with improved dialogue, communication, and description.  On our website, we are placing these descriptions for easily viewing by squadron members but after talking to Shazam, we realized it would be useful for the whole navy to have access to such information on all squadron members.

I posted this here on the comnet to get some feedback so please give some.

If the enemy is full, be prepared. If strong, avoid him. If he is angry, disconcert him. If he is weak, stir him to pride. If he is relaxed, harry him; if his men are harmonious, split them. Attack where he is unprepared; appear where you are unexpected. This is victory in warfare; it cannot be divulged in advance. Victory belongs to the side that scores most in the temple calculations before battle. Most spells victory; least spells defeat; none, surer defeat. now, website is somthing i'm good with. SO if no one objects to that, I can be responsible for that job. And i think it's a great idea. It could come very useful when we write about other peoples. Although, I never even did my bio.

See, the advantage of the bios on the roster is that they are user updatable. Hrm... Sorta 50/50, since this way would have a few people going out and trying to actively get bios and other information out of members, whereas the roster system is much more voluntary. More opinions?

Much more voluntary but also much more time consuming if people want to try and find multiple bios to read.  Also, it doesn't have the complete service records of everyone.

People would have to provide those like I thinK I was telling you.  Even then, some people can't remember half the crap they've done here or what they've received for that matter.  Just gotta get things together first.

Exactly, get things together now and then as time and memory, supplemented with meeting logs and comnet archives, more can be done if desired.
