Problems..

I don't know if this is under the right topic but anyway...
I am at he moment having troubles with with my computer.
My cookie settings are crap as some of you may know, making it difficult for me to log in, also my Word docs doesn't want to aply rpelace curly " with straight ones, some of my posts have blocks in them etc. I promise i am trying my best to adjust the settings but is still having problems, now lets hope this is gonna post...

Uhhhhhhhh, on the VE home page, check your preferences and set your cookie settings lower (medium is probably ok) so you won't have troubles signing in. Don't worry to much about the way a quotation mark is set up in a story, as long as its in the right place. Hope that helped, and you might want to place a topic of this type in the Information Booth or something along those lines.

I already adjusted my cookie settings on every place even disabled my firewall, i am not asking question or anything, i am just telling people incase i don't reply to question or posts...life sucks..

Whoa, bad idea. No disabling firewalls, especially in this time, we got people knocking down your ports with trojans and stuff, I sure as hell wouldn't do it...

On the main site, go to Preferences. Set your Cookie's Security Level to LOW. That should help with the logging in/out problem.

Solving the MS Word problem - MS Word has two options you can impliment: 1) Curly Q's (quotes) and 2) Straight Q's. I believe that MS Word automatically defaults to the Curly Q's. Anyway, to change them to Straight Q's, go to:

Tools >> AutoCorrect Options >> Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab >> Uncheck the Straight Quotes with Smart Quotes box (it should be the first checkbox listed). >> Click OK and you're done.
