This is a request for anyone who runs their own website:

You guys all know I'm a Civil War reenactor. The unit I portray is the 62nd Pennsylvania Infantry. I've recently found out that several items concerning the original regiment, including diaries and a photo album, have been stolen. This album even contained a photo of my ancestor!

What I'm trying to do is set up something similiar to the Amber Alert System for kidnapping, but instead about these artifacts. I was hoping all of you who have websites could please post a link about this on your sites. Thanks. It's reasonable to assume that they were stolen with the intent of being resold. So I figure that a prospective buyer will probably want to research the items a bit. So if all these sites all have notices about the theft, the better the chances of someone who has seen the items stumbling across the notices. Kind of like that Amber Alert system for kidnapees.

That way they can notify the police before the items are split up (the info in the album is written on the pages of the album itself, not the photos. It'd be easy to remove the photos, sell them for $200 apiece, and burn the album. That way the most identifiable evidence is gone, and the criminal can still make at least 10 grand off the photos. But then the identities of the people in the photos are lost forever, as it would be nearly imposible to re-identify them. And one of those photos is my relative... ).
