Will sat back in his sofa as he came back from breakfast, wondering what he should do today. He has pretty much read through everything he needs to know about the navy from his datapad; and tried every kind of move he can think of on the simulators. after staring at the wall for a while, he found a piece of wall somehow different from the others. It was in the corner near the top, about 2 ft wide and 1.5 ft high, sticking out of the wall just enough to be noticed, and the paintjob around it is a little different from the rest of the wall too. So he decied to investigate.
he got onto a chair, and knocked on and around the piece of wall a bit, trying to find out about it as much as he can. and found that unlike other parts of the wall, which is solid metal, this place seems to be holo behind it. and the covering of the hole was also very thin. but he didn't hear anything from behind it. Assuming that there is nothing living behind it, he tried to find a way to open it without damaging the sourounding wall as much as possible.
Using a flat piece of some kind of metal, he scrached off the paint around the border of the piece of the odd wall, and saw that the piece of metal was screwed into the wall in a hurry. he looked back to make sure that noone was watching and that the door is locked. He found a screw driver and unscrewed the the six screws that were used to hold the plate inplace. He would listen after he unscrews each screw to make sure that the space behind it is still lifeless.
He ducked a little so that he is out of the way of whatever is inside might shoot out anything or pour anything out of the hole. He pulled on the side of the plate, but it did not come off. He tried again, it still did not budge. Hmm, this is wierd, if the plate is thin, it should come off easily if nothing else if holding it to the wall, or is there?
His dad had been a carpenter back home, when Will was still young, he would help his dad fix and build all kinds of stuff, with all kinds of tools, his dad had the most number of tools on the whole planet. So when Will left for the Navy, he brought along a set of every kind of tool his father possesed, incase he ever need them.
Will shuffled through his very unorganized tool box, and came upon a small laser knife that can be used to cut through almost everything. he held the knife up to the board about an inch from the edge of the topleft corner and pressed the little button. he slowly moved the knife downward as the small 2 in long blade cut through the thin piece of metal, reddening as the laser blade cut through it.
After Will went around the plate he pulled on the outer piece of rectangle, and it fell off easily, making him almost fall over. He dropped the rectangle on the ground, and tried the inner piece of plate, it still did not come off. So, Will cut another rectangle inside the new piece of metal. This time, the outer rectangle id not come off, but the inner one did.
Will half expected the hole to be full of gold, and half expected it to be filled with a bomb. But what he saw stunded him, a small 1x1.5 ft blast proof door, with about 20 different security systems on the four walls sorounding it. they each seemed to be very different from the others. there were 10 fingerprints for each and every finger, 2 hand prints, 2 eye scan, blood sample, hair sample, and some others he did not know. Wow, whoever built this thign must've wanted whatever inside it to be safe, very safe, to either keep others out, or whatever is inside in.
Will doesn't seem to have any choice but to use another laser knife. He fumbled about and found what he was looking for. A normal, unskillful person, would think that it is a small lightsaber. It can be, but it is not. Back home, Will's father was the only one who had this, they used it to cut through large pieces of materials like steel and wood. But the funny thing is, this thing does not burn the material like other laser stuff and lightsabers, it simply cuts through the material, like a normal knife, except longer and faster.
Will estimated the door to be about half a foot thick. So he adjusted the length of the knife to 1/2 in length, stuck in into the door at the middle, where the 2 pieces of the door meets eachother. He went up and donw the like a couple of times and made sure that whatever is in its way has been cut, he pulled it back out. Got a crowbar and tried to pry open the doors, they didn't separate completely, but seemed to open up a little bit. Will added another 1/8 in to the length of the knife and tried again. This time, it worked. The door opened to reveal what is hidden behind it...
Stay tuned for my next episode. ----------------------- -(William the Conquerer)-

Will blinked couple of times to the blinding light that came through the small opening in the wall. It is now dark outside, the sun had creapt to the other side of the planet. And Will only had a single light that turned on automatically as the light dimmed in the room. How long has it been? 6 hours? 8 hours? Will had forgotten to eat as his curiosity catured him completely. But he decided to wait a little longer before going down to dinner. After a while, Will's eyes adjusted to the light, it was like as if he was staring in to sunlight, but at least it is now better. At the end of the small tunnel, it seemed to be a brightly lit room.
He didn't dare going into the room, yet. So he got his DL-54 Automatic Pistol and a piece of scrap metal. Aimed the gun into the hole, and threw the metal in and through the opening, and listened. The walls of the room didn't seemed to be made of metal, because there was no sound of metal hitting metal. The floor didn't seem to be far below the opening, the scrap metal landed on some form of material almost right after it bounced off the wall. But he also heard other sounds, clicking nosies. Droids. Lots of droids. Will wasn't sure that it would be a good idea to continue without knowing what lies beneath, especially such a great number.
He backed out of the tunnel, got a periscope, and stuck it into and through the tunnel. Will couldn't believe his eyes, about 5 security droids, could be seen through the scope. But more seem to be coming and going in and out of the scope. He zoomed out and saw that there was another tunnel, bigger, a lot bigger, about the size of a normal talkway, under the droids. Hmmm,
this is interesting, a secret tunnel, guarded by imperial security droids. He wasn't yet sure whether the droids was on his side or not, but he didn't want to take the chances. Quietly, he backed out of the small tunnel, secured the thin piece of plate back onto wall, covering as much of the opening as possible, and decided to go and check whether the passageway was registered in the ship's library. At the same time also grabing some dinner.
He got onto a computer, but found that the information on the ship's structure was only accecable by officers, not just anyone. So he decided to go get some dinner, hoping that he would meet someone who could help him get the information that he needed. Luckily, Chip was also working late for some reason, even though Will is not in Chip's flight, they still knew each other.
As Will sat down opposite Chip, Chip asked, "What have you been doing? you're all sweaty."
"Oh, nothin just working on something in my room."
After eating in silence for a while, Will asked, "I was wondering, If you could help access some of the library's data?"
"What kind of data?"
"I need some information on the ship's structure, they are only accessable by Petty Officers or above." Will explained, "particularly around my room."
"Are you saying that you are working on something around your room, but is beyound your walls?"
"Um, kind of."
"Tell you what, i'll help you if you let me in on this."
"Ummm, I'm not sure, cause from what I already know, it could be dangerous."
"More the reason for me to help you!"
"Ok, sure, you can help me. But you must promise not to tell anyone. But you do realize that you are putting your life on the line dont you?"
"Hell, boy, I've put my life on the line more than the number of times you've been in a fight."
"Great, the first thing i need help with is for you to access the detailed structure info from the library. And I'll tell you about what i've been doing while we walk t othe library."

As they reached the Library, Will concluded his breifing by tell Chip again why he needed him there. They found an unoccupied computer, Chip got a chair, pulled it infront of the computer, sat down, and started to type things into the computer. He got through to the data that they needed in no time. But what the data showed them surprised them. It showed that Will's room is sitting above and next to a large beam that runs through the ship widthwise. After enlarging the picture, it showed that the beam also connected with others that runs lengtwise of the ship, and others that runs up and down. So if the tunnel is in all of the beams, it could be a whole network of passageways that runs throughout the whole ship.
Chip downloaded the info that they might need onto their datapad, and left the Library. They hurried to Will's room, wasting no time. When they got there, Will, once again, locked the door. He climbed back onto the chair that he left there earlier, pulled off the piece of metal plate, and climbed back in with the periscope. Nothing changed much, except that there a few lesser droids guarding place. Great, this should make our jobs easier, Will thought.
"There are about 3 to 4 security droids down there." Will told Chip as he was backing out of the small tunnel, "but im not
sure whether they are friends or foes."
"They are probably not foes, but they'll probably take us as foes if we just go in there." Chip considered the situation, "So we need some kind of diversion to draw them away from under the opeining."
"What do you think we should use?"
"Something small that can go pretty far and fast, so that when we go down there the driods will be perhaps chasing after whatever we droped down there."
"Are you suggesting that we drop some Mouse Driods?"
"That might work." Chip said as he pulled out a couple of remote controled Mouse Driods from the bag that he brought along with him. "Here drop these in, and i'll direct them away from the entrance."
Will took the driods and crawed back into the tunnel. He then carefully droppped the droids onto the floor as quietly as possible, trying to not attract an attentions. The minute the droids dropped onto the floor, they stared to move quickly but quietly to the left opening that was also followed by a tunnel. As they went, they purposely bumped several security droids's
feet as to let them know of their presents, then hurries away with the security driods chasing after them, their plan was working.
"Alright Chip, there don't seem to be anymore security droids down there, i'll go down first, then come in after me. Alright?"
"Ok."
Will crawed to the end of the tunnel, stuck out his head, making sure that noone was coming, and that there was no stationary security turrents, then dropped lightly onto the metal floor, making almost no noise at all. He was then followed by Chip with also a quiet landing on the floor next to him. There were only one way to go, after the droids. They creapt quietly
along the long, dim corridor until they heard footsteps. They each ducked for cover."Wait 'till they fire first. If they dont, great. But if they do, then we are in for big trouble." Chip warned Will. They waited there, but nothing came, Because they have almost reached an intersection. The droids have simply turned the corner and went away.
To be continued...

(First of all, thanks to Will for letting me attach myself to this story.)
Kaminari wandered around the halls of the Atrus,, trying to familiarise himself with the layout of the enormous ship. As a pilot, there were only certain sections that he was technically allowed to be in, but his curiousity had gotten the better of him. Besides, walking the length of the ship was good exercise.
Kaminari rounded the corner and paused as he saw the red and yellow wall panels denoting a restricted area. He knew he was being monitored more closely now, but nobody had told him to get out, so he supposed he could fake being lost if any questions were asked. Not that it would be hard to get lost on a ship this size.
He continued down the hall until he heard the sounds of hydraulic joints. At a nearby intersection, a mouse droid skittered past, followed by several security droids. Cautiously, Kaminari peeked his head around the corner. No more droids seemed to be coming. He went in the direction the droids were coming from, and soon spotted two more pilots: Will, his Flight Leader, and another one he didn't recognise. He ducked around the corner, trying to avoid their notice. They weren't supposed to be there either, though... so what was so interesting about this section? ----------------------- FM/CRW Kaminari/Kaph 2-4/Wing I/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE (=A=)
