Greetings everyone,
As most of you SLs/ASLs know/remember we did a Holiday Squad Competition (HSC) this time last year. In fact, this one is a little late, but you're still going to have it. The competition will span over a two month time frame, and hopefully i wont have to extend the story. Raz and I will be running this one, so it should go quite smoothly. Now before I get into the rules on this, let me basically outline the competition for you.
Storyline Posting 35%
Multiplayer Gaming 35% (broken down in rules section below)
Recruiting 15%
Graphics and other entries 15%
Okay, so that is the competiton, I am not changing the rules for it either

Just so you know right away. Some of you may remember we had a slight different layout for things, but I modified it a little so we could get a wide variety of particpation for everyone that wants to be in it. However, the basic principle stays the same: points get awarded by squad, you all need to work together on this its a squad effort. The squad with the most points at the end of all this will be the winner. Cosmic has agreed to host the webpage for me again, and results will be updated there weekly.
Merrick from Jester Squad has asked to be included in the competition. For means of the storyboard I am going to pair them up with one of the 4 squads because they are very low on members and can't function as a group of 4.
Storyboard Posting
This counts for the standard 35% of the competition. For a post to count, it must be at least 200 words long (which really isn't anything if u think about it) and it must move the storyboard along.
Filler posts will not count For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about: filler posts are anything along the lines of playing sabaac, checking into hotels, or any other sort of activity not moving the storyboard along. I don't mind one or two refrences to doing something along those lines, but an entire post is not necessary. For any questions please contact your CO or higher. Also, please try and watch your grammar. This isn't school, but we also don't want this looking like a five-year-old wrote this.
MultiPlayer Gaming
Gaming as always counts for 35% of the competition, but due to problems we have with members wanting those without certain games to partake in this, I have come up with a system to divide the 35% fairly. I should state though that for all games no matter what you play, Raziel and I need to be contacted on the results of the game (and an attached screenshot). If its a platform game, you'll also need it registered on battleboard. When the game is counted and added into the records, Raziel and/or I will comment on your battleboard game notifying you that is was counted.
Now, 15 out of the possible 35% is going to count for Jedi Outcast/Academy Capture the flag. The official VE rule for force powers is in play. Only DJO members may use force powers other than jump. But seeing as how it is CTF, the DJO members will need to refrain from using speed just to be fair about it. I'm going to ask that you also use the stormtrooper skin to play, but its not a requirement
Another 15% is going to account for all other platform games that you might want to play. I'm not going to enforce any rules for this section seeing as how you need to have some fun.

The only exception is GB...that game will count for 2 normal games only because they are so long to play. I want the players to be ensured that they're not wasting their time playing.
The final 5% is for those with no platform games to play. You may play your opponent on candystand.com or nabiscoworld.com There is golf, pool, hearts, reversi, backgammon, and so on. I need a screenshot and obviously, these games DO NOT need to be registered with battleboard.
Recruiting
Recruiting should be something we all do daily, but it isnt. However, its a good chance to get some points for your squad in the competition. Your recruit does need to stay with us throughout the HSC and maybe even after, if they awol out on us, they will not count: and will furtherly be removed from you squad's recruit total.
Graphics and Other entries
I expanded on this one a bit, because there are other thing you can do besides graphics. You can make desktop themes if you so wish, or even GB Scenarios. Only thing is that whatever you make must be VE or SW-themed and it must be your own work. NO STEALING OF OTHERS WORK! Oh yes, and one other thing: seeing this is a holiday competition, it must be holiday themed. So maybe some snow, some santa troopers, a character from the storyline, be creative. So yes: it must be SW/VE and holiday themed or it does not count. This is not impossible, we had some great submissions last year, I hope to see some more this year. If you have any questions on what could be considered possible entries for this category, please contact your CO or higher.
NOTE: This category is graded on effort mainly, but also how well it looks considering the effort. EX: You could make a pic/scenario that looks flawless, but if it looks like you threw it together in 5 minutes, you won't score very high. Where as if it looks like you really took the time and effort to do a good job, you'll more or less get a high score.
Okay guys so that's the competiton for you. It's going to be a fun time just like last year. Prizes will be announced at a later date, but in the meantime if you have any further questions about this please contact either your SL, Raziel (
[email protected]), or myself (
[email protected]) and we'll be more than happy to help you in whatever way we can. The back-story will be posted tonite, but no one can post on it. It's JUST A BACKSTORY. The official story should be posted at the end of the week.
