Its doubtful. I remember in an interview Lucas said that after episode III he would make the new indiana jones movie, and then take 20 years off. If he was still alive then, he would think about making 7, 8, 9. I know that Supershadow (www.supershadow.com(by the way he is a total fake and moron)) said HE was making 7, 8, 9 not lucas. I dont know what that has to do with anything, but his site is amusing because its full of crap. But yeah, doubtful on 7, 8, 9.

i remebering hearing awhile back ago that Lucas was supposedly interested in doing a movie with only computer animated actors...

Making movies after the original trilogy would be ... difficult to do considering the books happen afterwards...heh

Since all of those books are not technically Star Wars canon (which you should have known *cough*) Lucas could very easily make movies about whatever the hell he wants and throw the Expanded Universe right out the window.

I heard somewhere a while back that after III, someone else might possibly take over for VII, VIII, and IX.

I also heard that the NJO series couldn't go past the 30 year mark after Endor because that would be when the sequel trilogy would take place.

Where I heard it from I don't know, but it does sound like a possibility.  And I don't think Lucas would just throw out the entire Expanded Universe.  I believe that all of the EU stuff which has had a game (Shadows of the Empire, Mara Jade, Thrawn) are all canon.

There is also the fact that the name for the head planet of the galaxy, Coruscant, came from the EU...the Thrawn Trilogy.  Guess time will only tell what comes for the Star Wars Universe.

isnt carie fisher, like dead or something, anyway, she wouldnt be hot anymore, she could never realy mactch protman anyway, but ya, it would be dumb of him to make those three, because all the actors are old and mark hamil wants to forget he ever played luke skywalker or that his name is mark hamil, he wants to be called dave. . .im not making this up, honest.

I'm just assuming no...  Not from Lucas anyways, cause I remember him saying that he wouldn't make any more starwars movies on the trilogy...  Some one else might try to add on, but lead the movies in a horrible direction...  Which is most likely...  Cause fans won't accept that Starwars is finally over, especially if EP3 sucks...

i dont know if you remember Shaz, but there was a time he said he wasnt going to make 1 2 and 3, but ya, for reasons i already stated (acters are to damn old, 'cept harrison ford who is still cool, and mark hamil has gone nuts) i doubt he will make them, the thrawn series would end up like all books made inot movies and be completely butchered, now i dont know anything about any of the other books cuz i never read them, but i could see if he set it like 30 years after the battle of endor, because then he could use all the same actors.

Lucas doesn't care about the EU. He totally disrupted the EU when he made Boba Fett a clone of Jango Fett. That was the crappiest thing ever. I don't think a sequel to the original triology will be done by Lucas himself, but I have heard rumors that one of his kids might take over. It would be cool if he wrote teh story as he got older, then one of his kids makes the movies in 25 years. That would give him 25 years to pump out a really beast set of three movies, but I don't think it will happen. Be nice though.

This is just an example of something that is wrong.

For those of you that don't know there are THREE (3) sources of canon for Star Wars and NONE of them are the exapanded universe books.

1) The movies, obviously
2) The books OF THE MOVIES (this includeds The novels for the origonal three movies, at least one of which came out before the movies and was the basis for the screenplay of A New Hope)
3) The radio dramas, which I've never heard

NOTE: Mara Jade, Thrawn, and all the rest of the EU are NOT CANON! We may all know and love them, but they are NOT part of Lucas's vision of Star Wars.

Coruscant is if I remember, its been a while since I read them, mentioned in one of the books of the movies (ANH, ESB, RotJ). And irregardless, is featured in both Eps 1, 2 and 6 (SE), and is thus canon. Not because it is mentioned in the Thrawn Trilogy or any other such thing.

if he made a movie that disrupted the EU too much (basicaly all the stuff that came after RotJ) he would just make this big schism in the SW fan base and that wouldnt be good bussinis, therefor i think/hope he wont do anything so unprofitable to himself.

and as i remmeber he wrote all the books pre-relaese of ANH, or atleast wrote out a plot line type thing, so whos to say Zhan didnt ask lucas what the capital of the empires planet name was?

Well, my opinion on the new movies so far would be that they are crap compared to what he could have created...  I kind of wish he just went his own way and didn't make it so kiddy...  It was too cute, the other movies I think he was just making what he thought was cool, but now he's really going for the crowd, and in my opinion, is avoiding his own original idea in a sence.  I think that EP3 will surprise either by how good it is, and classic in the idea that he has the same vision as he used to...  Or, it will be amazingly over done, revved up with cutesy overdramitic screenwork in an over the top way that would disgust most people if they hadn't seen the original movies and gained a certain respect for the SW univers...  Well, that was just the thought in my head...

I believe that Episode III will go back to the way the original trilogy was.  From everything I've seen, it seems to be of a  dark theme, not the kiddy stuff that we've seen in the last two movies.  I mean what kinda cutesy person is General Grievous.

And I didn't say Coruscant itself came from the EU.  I only said its name came from there.  I knew that Lucas had wanted to show the planet in the original trilogy or something like that, but it never occured because of budget concerns.

But there is no doubt that if Lucas did anything major to disrupt the EU, he would cause a big schism in the Star Wars fan community, and he isn't stupid enough to do that.

If there were to be a sequel trilogy, perhaps it will start dark and end kiddy.  Who knows, maybe even PG-13 Star Wars movies...  I don't know, at this point in time, the Star Wars saga could go in any number of directions.

im thinkin an "R" SW movie would be cool, way way cool infact.

but ya he said that it was going to have a darker 20's-30's theme, i think it looks good, and i hope he knows his rteal fans arnt liking the kiddy stuff and is gonna change it, i hope.

I just hope they don't over due it...  And I certainly hope they don't go with the type of filming thats been going on lately...  Have you noticed that all the cameras seem to have this different type of lighting going on in thier movies lately?  It's just weird and makes everything look fake...

Not to mention the really cheezy zoomings...  And I'm pretty sure they arn't going to be making a rated-R Starwars film...  Maybe PG-13.  That's what they orininals were wern't they?  Well they were when they came out? No...  That doens't make any sence....

Episode III looks like it might actually be worthwhile. Let's all cross our fingers.
There's no point in an R rated Star Wars movie. For one thing, the fantasy violence doesn't show any blood (well, except for the cantina scene in ANH), so it's really impossible. Unless you want to see sex scenes or hear graphic language, but is that really necessary in a Star Wars film? Definitely not. Go watch a Quentin Tarantino film or a porno if you want to see that kind of stuff and leave Star Wars in its proper place.
As far as a true sequel trilogy goes, I honestly doubt Lucas will ever do it. However, someone else might, which would be cool. I doubt Ford would reprise his roll as Solo, but someone could probably talk Fisher and Hamill into coming back, as well as Baker, Daniels, Mayhew, Williams, etc. For the right price, I guess Harrison might come back. As far as I know, he holds no major grudge against the series (like Neeson does). Let's just hope Jar Jar has no part in any kind of a sequel.
And one final note - it seems that Indiana Jones 4 has become so bogged down in the production process that it's likely it might not ever be made. A true tragedy.

dude, there should be a star wars film directed by Quentin Tarontino or however you spell his damn name, that'd be awesome, i like Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bills. and sure there could be blood and guts, like if they cut a guys stomack with a lightsaber, but not enough to cut him in half and his guts spill out, and ya, im just dreaming here, it will never happen and it would be just wrong if it did.

Snipes, you scare me. QT is a horrible, disgusting director. The man needs to be stopped, before he butchers yet another roll of film. (And if this were "Groundhog Day," I'd be having a blast driving him off a cliff! ).

Any way, I'm praying for another Indy Jones movie. That guy is just plain awsome.

Yeah, Star Wars is more storytelling and medieval romance. Not quite QT's specialty.
