EGM's lastest issue features KOTOR II, with storyline hints and things like that. Apparently Revan has gone into hiding, you still fly the Ebon Hawk, and you have to WORK for your lightsaber.

If it's a sequal to the original KotOR, then I think you should be able to load a previous character.

We know that you wont play the same character and that the story does not pick up where it left off. this was tough to design choice according to Avellone (lead designer), because the first game gave players such freedom in developing the story. "I didn't want to stomp all over anyone's decisions from the first game," he says. "Whatever resolution you chose in that game should factor into this one." So whether you played the light side or a dark lord wreaking havoc all around (or even if you didn't play the first game at all), this one will make sense to you. Early in The Sith Lords, you'll have various conversations that explain and address key plot issues from the last game - you'll tell the game how you believe things went down - and the dialog choices you make will affect stroy development througout the rest of the game. "We tried to slip it in aubtly," Avellone says, but clearly, the freedom to customize the story - such a beloved and important aspect of the first game - will be alive and well in this follow up.

I'd like it bit more if they fixed a few things:

1: Increase your choices for species.

2: They didn't wuss out on blasters(Most everything else is straight out of the revised d20 SWRPG rule book)

3: Fix the force system.  I know being a computer game they had to do something to keep force users in check but what they did just makes me want to crack open the good old D&D 3ED book and grab the Psionics Handbook and make a psion and show a force user some real street magic[Cue Tetris Theme].

4: Why do you have to be a force using class?  If they handn't wussed out on blasters a soldier would be cooler then a force using class.

I'd quite like to see them put in some of the projectile weaponry, as well as the blasters.

They've got stats for a whole load of things in the Arms and Equipment guide.

Bah.  I am a power gamer.  So I'm not wasting more money on a game that doesn't let me have choices that other games let me have.

Good thing I didn't pay for KOTOR.  In my book it is a waste of even ten bucks.

I still want to show those jedi some real street magic.

I don't have the revised d20 book but I have the not revised book and I've done the math.  Soldier will break a jedi in two unless he is really unfortunate with his rolls.

Then there is the 'dodge this' special attack.

Fear me.  I learn RPG systems and how to beat what is supposed to be an undefeatable opponent.

I think the ability to control the story line was more of a major selling point for the game rather than any battle system.

That's also part of my complaint too.

I wouldn't mind being a force user if I could do it my way.

Choose my class, choose my feets, not have jedi whatever forced on you.

Also I hate the fashion.  I wouldn't be caught dead wearing most of the clothes in the game.

I still stand by my assesment that it might be worthwhile only if priced at ten bucks.

#1 Knights of the OLD Republic.... meaning old style clothes, meaning HORRIBlE clothes. Besides style doesnt matter.

#2 You did have the ability to chose your feats, powers and bscially everything about your character. If you wanted a solider there was Onasi and the wookie and Onderon and HK-47 assassin droid. You wanted jeedai you had Bastilla, yourself, jolee bindo and that one other chick...

#3 You could even choose what class of Jeedai to be. Senteniel, Guardian or crap...can't remember the last.

In other words, keep your $10, because the game isn't supposed to be about soldiers, it isn't supposed to be about style, its about Jeedai vs Sith, the eternal struggle of light and dark, and the ability to chose your character's destiny.

Heck a lot of my money is saved.

It's a good thing that I preview games before I buy them or I'd be out a lot of money and constantly complaining about what a horrible waste of money most games are anymore.
