I never said communisum was a great idea...I personally am a socialist so I believe in a mixture of both systems...one that allows a business environment to exist but also will create excellent social programs for all, a cradle to grave state, and a low rich/poor gap.
 
That too is just one means of governance...I think either extreme has its problems and is ultimately ineffective and bad for society as  a whole...moderation is usually always agood thing.

The problem is private organisations either dont cause they are greedy money hoarders or else the not for profit ones cant afford to meet the demand.  Governments could handle things much better, I definitely agree with you there, but you can trust private enterprise to help society...it wont happen, the human nature is sadly greedy and uncaring in many ways.

Governments are vital for helping society and tax dollars are essential...i personally would like to see a massive hike in taxes for the very rich and no income tax for the poor.

private organisations are considered with maximising profit...that is the goal of the firm.  Therefore ppl come second.  People should come before profit but that will never happen unless vital institutions are made public, taxes are raised, governemnts become less corrupt, and ppl decide its important to help each other.

yes but they cant provide the universal, sustainable, and effective programs as well or on as great a scale as the government.  The government is your friend...its not some evil thing that saps your money.  Taxes are your friend too becasue they provide services and infrastructure needed to ensure that society is stable, fair, prosperous, etc.

yes we are interresting ppl...and its good we are having discussions and taking part in negociating what the government should do.  I was worried this generation wasnt going to give a damn about it.

/me points and laughs at those who assume corporations will do anything for the public good if it doesn't involve a tax break or avoidance of a lawsuit.

The basic reason we have governments at all is to protect us from other humans; be they another race, religion, nationality...or in more recent times, protection from corporate abuse.

To assume that Microsoft or Dupont is looking out for my best interests is at least as stupid as thinking the KKK wants to empower African-Americans. 

Put your George Bush handbook down long enough to realize that life sucks when you aren't a rich, white, Republican living in America.

Yeah, my dad's dad was a white republican, but not rich.  My dad worked his ass off to get where he is today, coming out of a military family.  My dad's brothers are white republicans, they arent rich though.  Dont make assumptions about people, it never gets you where you want to be.  Oh, I also forgot about those hundreds or thousands of music, sports, and movie stars that are liberal and of many races.  There are plenty of rich people in America that aren't white.  I find that what Fury said is an excuse for people not to work hard.  Is it really hard to do well in school, get to a good college and get a good job? I dont think so, just requires some effort that people dont want to give.  Hell, on most job applications I dont think people ask for your political affiliation and say, hey, you are a black liberal, no way we are hiring you.

And I like how so many rich liberals attack republicans, if they want better services for the American people, it isnt too hard to donate money to a charity.

You know in regards to your first post, it is hard for some to do well inschool, get into college, and get a degree and a goob job.

1. there is not equal opportunity...those from low income families struggle more and are much less likely to succeed.  This problem could be corrected with high government involvement.
2.college is too expensive so that only rich can get higher education
3. without good marks and college you cant a good job whichwill make these children in low income families in the low income catergory again...its a vicious circle.  thats an overview of the cycle...someday ill give you the one hour speech i have of it :P
