It appears that a story for the VEN might be a boost in member activity. Hell, I'll try it. But we're obviously ganna need something a bit catchier. I say that we don't only include subjects that center themselves upon the Imperial side of starwars... I say we add all kinds of genres into our literature. Mythology is one I think could add keen and interesting points to our stories, as well as twisted and ironic endings that could leave chills down our backs.
Adding in these extra items may not only make it more interesting, but more fun to make, and easier too... It'd also bring out some of our more inactive members who may have an interest in creative writing. Alot of times, they may feel as if they could not keep up with the amount of descriptive emphasization put into these stories, but I beleive adding in real actual story and real voice would make it so much more fun and interesting, it won't matter the amount of detail shown. So i'm lookin for real story... Real imagination.
So, let me here what you guys have come up with!

what you suggesting effectively elminates the purpose of our little STAR WARS "club" if you wanna start a LITERATURE or FANFIC club go right on ahead, but your thinking a bit too hard, perhaps maybe taking another two steps ahead. the first idea is to get acitivty, not confuse the hell out of everyone and make things that will most probably fail at this point of the game. theres my two cents worth. -----------------------

i got an idea for a story:
this guy is for some reason really mad at this rebel officer. so the really mad guy buys a sniper rifle and attempts to assinate him.
it would be different because its not about a stromtrooper pulling out a T-21 and blasting 50 rebels at a battle. its about stelth and a lone stormtrooper vs. the bad guy.

LW, your not gettin what I said. The entire thing was to boost activity. Using these techniques may make it easier for some people to write. Making the story into a quest of some kind might make it interesting. Or maybe the entire thing is about an experience you've had, but decide to exagerate it. Sometimes that can be... Fun...

i am getting what you said, and like i said (points up): it would most likely confuse the hell out of people as to why we have regular stories in a Star Wars Imperial club. i'm not saying it was a bad idea, if anything its a good one but it just doesnt fit with the VE. You could encourage ppl to write, and point out other fiction clubs, that's what i would do at least.
that or you could start another section to write the perspective of the war through the rebels or pirate eyes if you want to remain with a Star Wars theme, but we still hold an Imperial name. Or you could even hold a tournement for different story genres say monthly or something. those are just a few ideas as to what i think you are trying to do.

I think that one of the navy stories started by J-Mac is doing really well right now. I read through it and I was amazed by the potential that the writers on the VE have. I think that maybe sometime we should take a really good storie and make it into a book. Publish it and ect. We could make some serious money!$!

I'm also working on a book right now, though only DJO members get to read it. Maybe someday we will publish one of our group stories, but right now they are just for fun. Post on the story running now, add in your contributions.
