We are now using the irc.fesgaming.com IRC network as our main IRC server. On behalf of the VE, I'd like to thank the FES for allowing us to utilize their IRC server for our communications.
I have been informed from the FES that if the irc.fesgaming.com server is down, to use the IP of the machine it is running on as it is running on a different server than the fesgaming.com server. The IP of the irc.fesgaming.com server is 207.44.157.137. -----------------------

This server has gone down every day since we've been on it and sometimes twice or more... Seems more unreliable the holonet ever was if you ask me... -----------------------

That's because the server admin is a psycho control freak who runs with some of my completely non-favorite people.
I am currently questioning my own enthusiasm for all of this. -----------------------

Well, the problem is: stick with this and deal with intermittent server reboots and tweaks and the slight possibility that people who have publicly declared themselves adversaries of many in this club are reading logs and are in control of the server, or go back to Holonet where we know that someone randomly reads stuff but does not have any beef with us.
Anyway, we're here now and as long as its stable and no one messes with our settings or our channels or abuses their position (yes, that's my inflexible tall order), then so be it. -----------------------

Private Message logging was disabled when we switched machines that the server was running on. Many in FES raised legal concerns about it, and so it was disabled. The only thing the server logs is logins/disconnects and chanserv/nickserv commands.
Also, on the server reboot issue, there were some IP/port related issues that we have been working to resolve, they have now been fixed as of the last reboot, and the max. users has been increased to 10k as well. The server also does not reboot every night, recently, it seems like it, but, in the past week or two, the closest server reboots were at least every other night, more often 3-4 nights apart, and again, we have resolved that issue.

You know that all IRCD software does so you can actually use them? If it didnt auto log passwords, you wouldn't be able to have a password. Its part of nickserv's automated retrieval system. Its not like it needs to be logged, theres a command to retrieve a password anyhow so it could be used if someone forgot their password.
