Kuroishi needed to get away from his otherself and Tina more then ever after trying to set down some ground rules about clones and marriage and all the associated gray inbetween.
The bridge of the Furious was quiet for once. Having gathered as many allies as he had from his many campaigns made Kuroishi appreciate the small fleet he was able to maintain now that his corner on the market of the most expensive alchoholic beverage in the entire galaxy due to it's extreme rarity and high quality meant he could fund such an operation indefinately. The price was being one of the few survivors of his homeworld's destruction.
Neeman Colpman, Jansom Colpman, Reginold Greyscuttle, Jociam Geist(read Varneck Inheritor Nergal), and appearantly a doomed civlisation of survivors trapped on thier adopted homeworlds to never leave again were all that survived.
"If Wraith squad or Fury calls to summon me send my otherself. He needs a taste of making work and relationship balance. I'll be paying the bills." Kuroishi said as he made way for the hanger.
Kuroishi having set up his other self to fill in for him in Wraith would have to make today's supply run. The Royal Barkalounger was outfitted to be a combat craft instead of the normal light transport it was initially designed to be, besides it didn't have the cargo space to haul everything needed back.
"This is the Freighter Durdanus departing fleet security area. Will rejoin fleet at Point Delta in nine days." Kuroishi radioed as he began computing his hyperspace corse.
Kuroishi's contact operated out of the New Republic but that was a risk he had to take. Being a former general, knowladge on a couple years of top secret technological development, being wanted for several hundred acts of terrorism and warcrimes beyond count made him a fairly high priority target in some intel circles. The Goblin Grenade incident put him in the top ten most wanted criminals in the New Republic war criminal list.
Kuroishi finished his evasive course in the New Republic system of Geblin. It was the most remote place that his contact could secure the items heneeded. All Kuroishi needed to do was present the NR authorities with his appropriated business ID when they challend him.
The freighter he was flying was appropriated from an unfortunate crew who broke down in the wrong place at the wrong time. The ship was registered to a comppany that no longer existed as of a pirate raid a few days back but did busines on both sides of the border. Kuroishi was disapointed that it was a real pirate raid and not one of his conived plans.
"Freighter Durdanus please hold for inspection and identify flight plan and purpose." A NR customs officer hailed.
"Roger that. This is the freighter Durdanus on route to Giblin 4 to pick up parts for a shipment to the Galinth system." Kuroishi replied.
"That is imperial territory please state your buiseness ID code for verification." The controler replied.
"Starlift Transports, ID 8566412B special clearance Theta." Kuroishi recited the ID from memory.
"Wait while we verify." The controler replied.
Kuroishi sat and waited for several minutes before the comm buzzed alerting him to the incoming signal.
"Freighter Durdanus you are cleared to proceed." The officer stated coldly.
"Thank you control." Kuroishi replied feeling a little better about this trip.
The in-system trip was long and tedious but passed without incident. Kuroishi took the tim to prepare his disguise.
No matter how well he camoflaged his Varneck Marine Combat Armor it would still clank and thud about in a most unfortutous maner. For this he'd need small concealable and legal. Ha had two out of three.
Grabing a heavy cloak and a pair of thick gloves and a tortion stick placing it in his glove and meldin smoothly with his arm when the glove was worn on his hand. In the other glove he concealed a stunstick, basicly a flashbang shaped like a long tube. Grabing a pair of dark sunglasses and some earplugs Kuroishi awaited landing clearance from the local space port.
Kuroishi disembarked and went through the standard search and screaning. When the anomalies were detected in his arms Kuroishi peeled up part of the glove to reveal exposed artifical limb replacement.
"I'm a bit sensative about them is all." Kuroishi said and was allowed to go forth and do his buiseness.
Kuroishi knew it would only be a matter of days before someone was sent here to check out a report of the Great Death Leader of the Fallen being spotted by spaceport survelance cameras. If all went as he planned he'd be gone by then though.
Kuroishi was always keeping himself in pratice for evading trailers even if there weren't any. It may make him look a little odd but it made sure he was still in top form. Today he was not diapointed by an undercover NR customs agent.
Loosing the agent in an open air market Kuroishi made his way to the Inn where he was to meet his contact.
The Black Pearl was a fairly hard place to notice unless you were specificly looking for it. Nestled between two other bars and hidden by urban grafiti the entrance looked like it was a back door to one of the other bars. The inside smelled of alchohol and cigar smoke. Dimly lit and humid the bar was up against the far corner with tables arrayed in a haphazard pattern toward the entrance and a back area.
Kuroishi chose on near the entrance and dismissed the waitress with an order for Corellian Ale.
A young man and woman entered the bar and sat at the bar followed by Kuroishi's contact. Instead of following them to the bar the contact sat at Kuroishi's table.
The man was in his mid forties and had pale skin for a human. The thick brown hair on his head made Kuroishi jealous.
"How much longer will it take you to get your business license to operate on both sides of the boarder?" Kuroishi said after his contact sent the waitress off with a lude comment and order for his own Corellian Ale.
"Sorry but the imperial authrities keep denying my requests. You wouldn't be able to change that would you?" The man replied.
"Unfortunately not anymore. You got my list. I know how much it cost me last time. So shall we get this over with before I get tailed by more customs agents, eh San Vim?" Kuroishi muttered.
"Sure. I got the entire list waiting to be loaded to your freighter. Got my payment?" San joked back.
"You know how this works." Kuroishi slipped an envelope beneath the table to his contact.
"Yes I do." San replied laughing.
"You seem especially jovial today." Kuroishi said suddenly feeling very nervous.
"Just thinking about all the good times we've had." San replied.
"What good times? Like when I tracked you across four sectors and nearly framed you for destroying the govener's palace on Thorak VI for cheating me?" Kuroishi replied.
"Or the time I was forced to bring some NRI agents to one of our meetings. Nothing personal. Though I imagine you're not exactly thrilled at that. They threatened me and my busines if I din't bring them I'm sorry." San said as the couple at the bar rose and turned toward Kuroishi and San.
"There are always alternatives. It is wether or not those alternatives are any better or worse then the current situation. Even if I don't get out of this promise me that the cargo will get loaded anyway." Kuroishi replied as he stood as well blocking the line of fire between the agents and his contact.
"Sure. What good it will do though." San replied.
"A good soldier is always prepared." Kuroishi put on his sunglasses and threw the glove with the stuntstick in it at the two agents.
Two stun bolts flew by where Kuroishi was and impacted harmlessly on the wall.
Grabing the tortion stick Kuroishi gave the man a good smack right in the unmentionables and brought his left hand down between the woman's neck and shoulder.
Kuroishi put the glove back on and grabbed his dazzed contact.
Carrying around a dazzed man was easy enough since they just came out of a bar but he knew they wouldn't get far with that guise.
Sneeking into an alley making sure no one saw him some blocks away from the bar Kuroishi waited for his contact to wake up.
"Wha.. what happened?" San said as he came to.
"Just get the stuff loaded onto my ship and I won't kill you. How many others did you come into contact with?" Kuroishi said quietly and quickly.
"Just the two that I saw." San replied grogilly.
"Well that either means that's all of them or they kept thier back up out of sight. They shouldn't hassle you for holding up your end of the bargain even though they couldn't capture me. Now get going I'll be allright." Kuroishi said as he left his contact to do as he told him.
Kuroishi was almost certain that if he could last the three hours it would take to load his freightor with the supplies he would be able to get away without revealing his fleet's position. Kuroishi also knew they'd try and hide several tracking devices in the cargo, but he was already finished working on his plan to deal with that.
Kuroishi knew that even being as unarmed as he was he wouldn't be able to count on much mercy from the NRI agents but he knew he could keep the blaster fire down to a minimum from the normal security forces.
Darting from alley to alley Kuroishi used his comlink to establish a tie with the onboard computer of the freighter to moniter cargo transfer status and his contact was as good as his word, a refreshing change from people Kuroishi was forced to trust.
Kuroishi waited in the middle of an open air market and watched for any signs the crowd was begining to deminish.
Sure enough some regular security forces accompanied by the female agent were begining to clear out one side of the crowd. A moment later Kuroishi could see that the other exit from the market was also being approached by secruity forces.
"Time for a little home cooking." Kuroishi said to himself as he quickly gathered a flimsy metal container, several peppers, vinegar, spices, and baking soda. Kuroishi dumped the ingrediants in saving the baking soda and vinegar for last and placed the container at his feet and waited.
"We have you now. Surrender or be dragged off your choice." The female agent said several paces away from Kuroishi.
"Hold on let me check the time." Kuroishi replied.
"The reports said you were nuts but I didn't expect this. Very well if it'll make you come quitely." The agent replied.
One hour left until the cargo was transfered and about five seconds before they noticed the container at his feet was begining to bulge.
"I vote for neither." Kuroishi said as he threw his cloak back at the security forces behind him and kicked the canister just in time for it to burst a spray of pepper juice and spices(ooc: gotta love paying attention to chemistry and little trivia facts/ooc).
Kuroishi dashed off with the security forces that were behind him in hot persuit with blasters drawn. The agent and security forces in front of him were busy rubbing at thier exposed flesh and eyes as they were covered with a rather nasty concotion.
Ducking into an alley Kuroishi bounded up the walls like nothing human. Satisfied that he lost them for now Kuroishi was intent to wait until he was in an more oportune time to leave for the spaceport.
Knowing that they'd love to get a hold of his otherself Kuroishi was confident that they'd let him escape if they couldn't catch him before he got back to his ship.
The problem was how to get through security since he didn't have a blueprint of the spaceport available to him.
Then it hit him like a bolt of lightening.
Peering over the edge he saw the female agent organising a search pattern of the area. He knew they'd check the roofs eventually. Waiting until she dispatched the last of the security forces Kuroishi pounced upon his pray.
Landing with a thud behind the agent he wrapped his arms around her before she could react and gagged her by putting his gloved hand in her mouth.
"Now you can bite all you like but that'll change nothing. I could snap you like a twig but I need you to get through spaceport security. Make you a deal I don't break every bone in your body and you help me eh?" Kuroishi said as she struggled against his iron grip.
"Let's go someplace a bit more private." Kuroishi said as he ducked into an alley.
"Where is your security key card? What is your authorization code? What is the counter-sign?" Kuroishi asked and all he got for a repsonse was more pressure on his glove and his captive trying to wriggle free.
Kuroishi released his right arm from around her and struck her unconsious again.
"I never ask twice. Be glad I'm too pressed to hide a dead body or you'd be a goner." Kuroishi said as his captive passed out.
Kuroishi searched quickly and found the key card. Grabing the blaster he packed his prize over a shoulder and moved out.
The patrols were predictable and Kuroishi could almost sleep walk through them.
Kuroishi neared the space port as his captive began to wake up.
"You'll find your comlink disabled and no one in shouting range so save you effort. I'm actually ahead of schedule since I somewhat saw your organization of patrols. Not a bad plan but when one overhears it it becomes useless." Kuroishi said as he set hiss captive down.
"Not bad for an old man with no blasters or blades." The agent said somewhat astounded with the fact that her prey now had her where he wanted her.
"Now for the other two questions since I got one answer. Clreance code and countersign if you would?" Kuroishi asked impatiantly.
"Kill me and you can't get them. You don't have the time to torture me into giving them up. If you do nothing you lose any power of persuasion you had." The agent replied.
"Not bad. Only one flaw in all that. I do have the time, it's just a question of how long can I keep you from screaming lound enough to be heard from miles away." Kuroishi replied.
"Impracticle since you need to get back to your fleet. We know you have one but we don't know where or how big. We know if you could get the crews together you could add a VSD II, a Dreadnaught, and an ISD." The agent replied.
"Perhaps a trade then? Let me go and I'll tell you what's in my fleet to the last vessal, but not where it is, esspecially since I know you'll have homing beacons in the cargo I picked up." Kuroishi countered.
"Fair enough. Now spill." The agent replied.
"One Nebulon B Frigate, five M-90 Corvettes, two bulk freighters, two medium transports, and two squadrons of fighters. Oh and the TIE Defender and the Royal Barkalounger. Your turn." Kuroishi answered handing over a spare comlink.
"All forces stand down. The subject is to be allowed to leave. Authorization Aika zero zero whisky." Agent Aika said into the comm.
"Have fun explaining this to your superiors. Though normally I wouldn't do this but enjoy your life while you can because you're one of the few NRI agents to meet me and survive. Leave my contact alone after this or the two of you will be sharing a grave." Kuroishi said as he left for his ship.
The trip back was spent locating as many traking devices he could and he had the toold in his fleet to locate any ones he missed due his poor equipment available to him now.
Another day another dollar.
