Are there any games you have/are willing to get and willing to play?
There isn't a huge number of Star Wars games around these days, especially naval-related.
So, heres some ideas:
IF-2 Stornovik (or something like that) (WW2 flight)
Air Attack (a free WW2 flight sim)
Any other flight sim you want to suggest..
Theres also some FPS's, which would be a bit confusing, and I'm not sure how we'd do it, since the Army is likely to play the same ones. But ho hum.
Tribes 2 (a lot of people can play, and apparently its very cheap.. although whoever said that has not been to Scotland)
Team Fortress/Counterstrike/Natural Selection (all Half Life mods)
Unreal/Unreal Tournament/Unreal Tournament 2003/etc
Battlefield 1942
Probably the best:
Battlefield 1942 has a SW mod being made. And you can fly TIE Fighters. And the Army are thinking about playing it.

Unreal Tournament 2003 has a mod as well, but its all on the ground.. so thats a problem for us.

There is a new game that just came out called Freelancer, but it's more like the Wing Commander games. I'm not sure how the Multiplayer would work with big groups, but the single player is great. The game is filled with drama, but the ending isn't that great. The flight controls aren't either, but you get used to it. It's just a suggestion. I think you might be able to pick up a demo somewhere.
Also there is a flight simulator called Echelon(I think it's spelled right) that seems pretty good. I haven't played it, but I've heard good things. Coming here pretty soon, if not already is an expansion pack for it, or a newer version. I'm totally up-to-date on it, but it looks promising. I know you can get demos for that, but I don't have the sites off the top of my head.
One last games series we should consider is Mechwarrior, but I'm not sure if that would go to the Army. The mechs could be related to walkers and they de require pilots, so maybe we could play those. Plus they have a huge following and lots of expansions and versions. Even if the Navy doesn't(or can't) play these games, the Army should consider. -----------------------

Also i the Army doesn't want it, (which seems to be the case) Vietcong.
More importantly in my latest computer magazine i got a demo for,
STAR WRAITH 3
Now this seems to be a very good game. Its a proper space flight sim. I haven't been able to play it properly at the moment due to lack of Joystick, so if any of you want to download the demo and review it.......
Its only 8mb and if i am on mIRC just PM me about it and i will send it you. -----------------------

yes i have Freelancer and run atm a extended test for us, i post this week a longer Report about it with details, screenshoots etc etc.
all i can say now is, its a great and huge game, you play not only vs Human Players, no its more that you play coop with human players vs the good count of NPC in the game, as excample, i flyd 2 days ago in a bigger convoy, 2 Freighters with 3 Starfighters as our Escort trough the systems. Nice Teamwork.

All I can say is the single player kicks ass. I loved it. The universe is huge, with I think about 50 sectors to explore(what I've found so far). I'll check out the multiplayer later this week hopefully. IT sounds promising from what I have heard fro WM and gaming news centers. -----------------------

well well well i have all infos ppl would need to be successfull in this universe, but i think you would have less fun if you know where you must fly to get the best ship, guns, or where you can bribe someone to get a better reputation  -----------------------

I can as well. However, I offer a price to my services, to be determined per the request. I have been to every base and every sector so I can help anyone out. I recommend you people by this game and get good at it. It could be a lot of fun, right Warmaker :P -----------------------
