Don't feel like you're contextually obliged to make your posts scary or creepy etc. We're looking for character development as much as we are the horror theme, and story progression equally so.
If I remember correctly, we're supposed to be finding the engine room (where that big creepy crawly is playing limpet to the core, or something) and you're probably going to see an increasing amount of blaster/explosive damage the closer we get because of the times the original crew tried to take the engine room back. Hell, I'm sure Raz won't mind too much if you write a little about the original crew (just check with him first).
My post left you with a pretty easy, clear opening to your own post (in my opinion), and you can expand on that and add in some character dev and Mai'n'I will be more than happy. Post length isn't the issue here. We want you guys to try something new, to post in a horror genre because you never have before. It doesn't have to be a work of art, I don't really care as long as you're having a go.
To me this club isn't about writing what you know, it's about pushing yourself to expand your skill and capacity as a writer. If you want to post about the same thing time and time again then you're going to have an awful lot of trouble staying active in this squad. I don't think Marka and I are particularly hard to please, and I know that we're both available via PM or IRC to help if you feel you need it. But at least give it a try before you give up, yeah?
