I just detected this 15 minutes ago,
If anyone get's an email from Cosmic with the subject Funny Website or something like that,
DO NOT Open it and DELETE.
It is a virus, the Virus Scanner did not, tell me what virus it is, but I can see 7's appearing in my txt. and doc. files..
So to everyone in the VE, especially, us ARMY blokes....Becareful... -----------------------

I don't send out viruses. :P
Anyway, all my VE-related emails go to my @ve.com account which detects email viruses. For my personal email, I use Norton Anti-Virus to scan the emails, so I don't have any problems and hopefully won't have any. -----------------------

There has been a problem both now and in the recent past with a virus called Klez in VE email accounts, if you haven't already and you have an @ve.com email addy, run the cleanup tool, a link to it's site is somewhere in the news posts about a month or two ago.
If you get emails from [email protected] and other email addys that shouldn't be sending you mail, don't open them. If you get extremely odd emails from people like me, who only send offical type mail anyway, you're probably safe deleting them (I don't just up and send random crewman funny website emails) -----------------------

Unless you can discern the SMTP originator of the message, don't count on whose address is in the from line. Basically Klez spoofs names from whatever address book it can find.
It is likely that a member of ours had both a) Klez and b) a really, really detailed address book and has hopefully since worked on cleaning their machine.
If you guys haven't done so, get a decent virus scanning package and update it often. If nothing else, get a Klez cleaning tool and scan your machine. I'd give you the link but I'm too tired. Try Google.
And for god's sake quit sending me messages about how my machine is infected because I supposedly sent you a virus. I don't have it, I didn't send it, and I am smart enough to check if I do have one. -----------------------

I recently got an email that contained dangerous code and it said it was from Paan. The title was
"Lets be friends"
either u hate me paan....  , or I think someone has this virus of which Fury was speaking on. Check your machines ppl, I was lucky enough to have all my incomings scanned, and I suggest everyone else do the same, unless you are too cheap to get an Anti Virus.......... -----------------------

No, TK-112, that was just a general comment. Lately some ISP and mail services have taken to automailing people whose accounts supposedly sent one of their clients a virus-laden email. Those I don't mind because its an automated response.
On the other hand are those people who think you either did this on purpose or are too stupid to run a virus scanner. Either way, its petty. An over-the-top case in point.
In one instance, someone at my place of work got an email from a supposed federal attorney who sent an email to every address who "sent" him Klez that he was going to "sue their *sses and put them away". One, he's an idiot. Two, I think he's about to get into some serious hot water courtesy of our state government talking to his employers (I work at a state university). -----------------------

its easy, one was the first, out of his adress book, the virus got new victims and so on and so on, so far i received from a whole lot of different ppl the virus, also i have send it out, well, i was in the topic, its always, check the emails with a virus scanner before you open it, thats better, or when its from me, if there is not report or viper or dark dragoons in the topic, just delete it -----------------------
