I've actually never seen that scary a movie. Yes, my life has been sheltered, and yes, I am also slightly out there. I would have to say It, even though I laughed when it ate those kids, just cause it is the best I have to go with. -----------------------

Well, I've seen a lot of scary movies and I must say that most of the newer ones suck and are getting too predictable. But the one that I thinkof is a really old movie called Salem's Lot. It was a freaky movie and statled me more than scared me. -----------------------

Hmm, I am usually "shocked" at sci-fi horror ("Alien," "Event Horizon," etc.) but not psychologically scared. Conventional scare genre ("Halloween," "Friday the 13th," "Scream," "Pyscho," etc.) I like even less.
I consider shock when you "jump" in your seat and your heart misses a beat, etc. In terms of instilling emotional lifelong fear, Lynch's "The Elephant Man" and "Blue Velvet" would be neck to neck for scariest film(s) of all time. EM because it is surreal; BV because I can relate to it.
It seems zany films creep me out more than horror films.

I almost rented Event Horizon the other night...
Hmm. The scariest movie for me... I haven't seen a lot of scary movies, but with the ones I did see... Terminator I. What scared me the most was when the Terminator entered that mechanical factory, chasing that woman. -----------------------

With all honesty imagine being four and being forced to watch Fire in the Sky. I still can't bare to see parts of it to this day. especially because of the locational signifigance to me. if i didn't vote for that i would have to say Exorcist though. -----------------------

That would be "The Shining". The movie is quite funny, with the skinny brunette reminding me alot of Olive Oil from PopEye the Sailor Man. But Nicholson kicks ASS!!!!
