It is evident that I have been AWOL for quite some time now and apparent that I have no real desire to return to active duty. I would, however, still like to post on stories as a smuggler or pirate of some sort. I don't expect to be paid for anything i do in the stories, whether it be beneficial to the VEN or a detriment. So, barring any opposition from the NHC or any other active navy members, I'm going to start doing this. Also, I'll need a co-pilot. Prefferably someone prone to, or simply not afraid to, disobey some direct orders and come off to do his/her own thing with me in the stories. /me looks towards DarkHawk. Hey, I'm all for it.
I don't have a problem with it (like I matter anymore) but I am worried about this becoming a common trend. Perhaps a position on the roster could be created for Twin, like "resident pirate" or some such baloney.

I think that this might send the worng message to some of our newer recruits. Being a part of the VE is just what it says. Being a part of something does not mean that u can retire, and still do things within that organization, such as utilizing the tools in which members use in order to make the VE run. I would suggest that if u want to keep on writing stories, and participating in the activities, just come back TF. I don't know all the details of your departure, but it seems to me as if u really don't want to leave, and by u posting what u have, I think that validifies this statement. We cannot have people leave the VE and come back whenever they want to, it shows a lack of discipline and wanting to do your own thing, and that is not what the VE is all about. -----------------------

Yeah, MD, that's what I was saying. It doesn't send a very good message. Maybe we could create a separate corps for bounty hunters/smugglers/pirates like we tried to do months back, when the Astral Guard was born and then quickly died.  -----------------------

Well Twin you could always join Kaph squad
for one I write my stories as a pirate and smuggler who is in the Empire for the money and also, I am working on some spec ops missions for Kaph squad
we need to spice up the missions a bit, just plain flying is dull -----------------------

Well, I'm not Riel, but here's my opinion.
I tend to agree with those that have said "If you wanna post, just join up again" I do not believe that creating any organization that contained pirates, bounty hunters, etc would really work in the VE because, well, we're the Vast Empire. And well, "Bounty hunters! We don't need their scum."
You're free to come back and join a squadron, I think, though, that I would oppose the addition of anything new to the roster regarding any kind of mercenary position, or really any new position in general. -----------------------
