Hello members of the VE. I am posting this topic to get some input on something that I have been wanting to do for a while.
I was thinking that we could hold some type of trivia time for all VE members on mIRC at a set time every week. Each week, 2 different ppl would have the honor of preparing questions for that week, and would maintain control in the channel. Now, I was thinking that if participation was good, rewards could be given to those with the utmost Star Wars knowledge, and perhaps a medal could be made for their superior knowledge.
It would be run similar to trivia chat channels on the more common servers, i.e. Yahoo, Excite....... I think that this would be great and also be alot of fun, and good for the organizations morale. Anyone with an opinion on this matter, please post below, just try not to bash my idea too hard!!!!

My suggestion, get in touch with Warmaker, he has a trivia bot at the moment (i think) and it shouldn't be too hard to replace the current questions a starwars varient.
If he doesn't the next best thing would be to find a bot or script that would also fit this role....
I don't see a need to have this running in the main channel, but maybe in the lounge, have a Trivia night or something, instead of the random brawls that seem to take place in there. If, once you get all this organized and set up, you need some advertisement power, drop me a note and i'll post the information on the domain.

Yes, the lounge would be good to do this. And as for getting it organized........I am gonna leave it up to WarMaker, since he is my mentor and has a trivia bot, since I am going to be gone for most of the month of august. Once I get back, maybe we can start it then. But if you all want to start it before I return, be my guest. I don't really care about being in charge of it, I just want to play. I think my idea is good, and if nothing happens with it before I return from my deployment, then I will put the wheels in motion, that is, if no "important" ppl disagree.

ahhh yes, i have a trivia bot and when i have the questions and answers i can feed him with the stuff.
Advantage from my bot is he has a scoring system involved with overall stats.
btw, the idea is great -----------------------
