Well.. I was wondering what kind of musical inspiration everyone uses to write stories for whatever division they're in. As for me when I'm doing run ons for the VEDJ, or my own assigned journies, I use the following: Star Trek II: Wrath of Kahn Soundtrack The Mummy and The Mummy Returns Soundtracks. Transformers the Movie Soundtrack: Specifically, the songs "Dare" and "You've Got the Touch" Music from all of the SW movies mostly "Yoda's Theme" "The Imperial March", "The Force Theme", and the music from the scene with each racers flags in Episode I. Occasionally, I'll also use Duel of the Fates, and some of the other battle themes. Let me know what gets you guys and your characters flowing!

Uh, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park suck.  Just had to throw in my two cents there.  I prefer talented musicians myself.  But that's just me talkin.

uh, no they're not.  They are over-rated hatecore non-talent wannabes who think they are cool cause they cuss a lot in their songs, while portraying no sort of message whatsoever, except for the occasional "I've been wronged, Pity me," type.  I like music that attempts, at least, to bring out some sort of worthwile message, and talented musicians don't hurt.  I could play the four power chords that Limp Bizkit uses.

I listen to "Summon the Heroes" by John Williams alot. "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood is another good choice. The one thing that makes me feel exceptionally good though is the song YANKEES SUCK!. You all know the Yanks suck.

Go Riel, tell him what's real!!!  Stormy, if you want good hard rock, look for the German groups, German really does sound better for hard rock and stuff like that.  Plus, no one but me can diss it cause they don't speak German    As to "God Bless the USA", it's all starting to sound like a Soviet parade music to me, no offense intended to patriotic Americans, but I can't help noticing how much we're getting the way the Soviet Union was... Hmm, I think my musical tastes fall more along the lines of Paan.  When writing science fiction stories -- particularly those relating to the Vast Empire Dark Jedi Order -- I often listen(ed) to instrumental music from popular motion pictures . . . The 13th Warrior: Eaters of the Dead soundtrack - Jerry Goldsmith. "Imperial March" song - John Williams. The Mummy soundtrack - Jerry Goldsmith. The Wind and the Lion soundtrack - Jerry Goldsmith. "The Duel of the Fates" song - John Williams. Conan the Barbarian soundtrack - Basil Poledouris. The Hunt For the Red October soundtrack - Basil Poledouris. The Rock soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. The war drum song from Pearl Harbor by Hans Zimmer. Miscellaenous Star Wars music by John Williams. When writing my starfighter battle scenes I often listen(ed) to The Empire Strikes Back Finale, ESB Astroid Chase, and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan -- particularly the song "Battle in the Nebula"

I like Disturbed.  Disturbed kix @$$!  I like metal and hard rock.  none of that stupid pop stuff.  Rap...well, whether i like it or not i must admit that it doesn't always count as music.  But hey, that's what they say about a lot of things.  Anyway, if u don't know who Disturbed are, you damn well should listen to them sometime.  Oh, and i almost forgot Adam.  My friend made a CD of his own music and i like it a lot.  So i also listen to Adam Schleicher's "Circular Dreamscape."  It's pretty kool.  I'd say u should get it but hey, he makes the CD's himself.  Drowning Pool is also a pretty good deal:  i got it for less than 7 bucks at target.  I have my own view on Limp Bizkit.  I think they were a good band until they got to be popular.  Listen to their first album and then their newest album and there is a pretty big difference.  They are not nearly as...creative as they were.  Like Sugar Ray had one badd-@$$ album then the rest of them were pure cr@p.  Bands seem to have a way of doing that lately.  I also like to listen to older music (pre-MTV) cuz MTV sucks and they push bad music.

In this point I agree with you Riel! Music should have a message...but some Eminem songs and Lincoln Parc songs (and Limp too)have a message! But I think its just a think of everybody himself... And by the way, I like Rock, Pop, Oldies and all that too!!! I like Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Frantic Flintstones )do you now them???), just everything!

Battle Pic.     - Anthrax : Bring The Noise     - Queen : Princess of The Universe     - Pearl Jam : Do The Evolution     - Rolling Stones : Sympathy for the Devil 2. Sicko Pic.     - Almost all Pink Floyd music     - Cradle of Filth     - Metallica     - Oasis (really, it makes me more depressed than usual) 3. Racing Pic     - all Deep Purple high tempo songs     - all Led Zeppelin high tempo songs     - Uriah Heep     - Grand Funk !     - Jamiroquai yep, i just set my Winamp or Stereo to repeat those songs over, and over, and over, and over again until the pic finished

heh, now don't get me started on rap.  It's just talkin into a microphone.  Anyway, Zed, I like your choices mostly, especially the Queen and Led Zepplin.  And Anthrax.  Personally, I like hardcore music, and punk rock, which is what talks about what I know, so that's what I listen to when writing.  It helps.  Not to mention the hair bands, Lynyrd Skynyrd, charlie daniels band (gotta love Devil went down to Georgia) and the Doors, not to mention Hendrix.  that's all I'll say on this topic.

I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so I won't bash an entire genre.  The only rap I enjoy though is the Beastie Boys and Run DMC
