Ladies and gentlemen, welcome.

We are here to attempt to resurrect what is, for many of us, a longtime labor of love and a community that has been a source of inspiration, encouragement, and strength for many. I hope we can pull that off, and I will do everything that I can to ensure that we do.

On the practical side of things, there's a very real need for organization right now. Unfortunately, we don't currently have an active member with access to the roster page of the Vast Empire website. So this will do for now.

For ease of reference, our current High Command structure is as follows:

Head of the High Command: StOrMz
Prefect of the Army: Havock
Naval Commander in Chief: Drac
Head of the Academy: Slasher


During the last several years of continuous operation of the VE, our scale got very large. Similarly, when we attempted a revival around a year ago, we immediately went big and tried to jump into a Chapter. We're not going to do that this time. The scale of our stories will be tailored to our number of members, and our stories themselves will focus on our characters & their missions rather than on telling a grand, complex story of high strategy and massive campaigns. In short, I want you to be able to write stories that you enjoy together, on a scale that makes your characters relevant to the action and outcomes at hand. The larger story of the fortunes of the Vast Empire as a whole will be managed in the background and tied in where appropriate.

With that being the case, I'm pleased to announce our current organization. Be aware that this may change as our numbers change, but it will remain consistently as streamlined as possible. The following is an outline of the ships & units directly involved with our player characters:

Flagship: Victory-class Star Destroyer Dead Gun
Supporting Ships: 5 ships, type and names TBD (all NPC)

Fighter Wing: 25th Vast Imperial Fighter Wing (nickname TBD)
Starfighter Squadrons: 118th TIE/IN Interceptor "TBD" Squadron, 5 unnamed NPC squadrons

STC Platoon: ______ Platoon (nickname TBD)
Squads: Harbinger Squad (nickname TBD), 3 unnamed NPC squads

I'll be assembling our roster in the next post down. To answer some questions:

-All active Navy members will be part of the 118th Squadron, and all active STC members will be part of the currently forming squad.
-The Navy's fleet side is currently shuttered. Members whose characters previously commanded a ship may let that character remain with that ship for personal stories, but will need another character for the squadron which is the primary focus of Navy activity at this time.
-Any and all NPCs are open for creation, and posts may be written from NPCs' perspectives.
-The new squadron and squad have the opportunity to take part in naming their units, subject to their division leader's approval (currently myself and Aeos respectively for Navy and Army).
-The new fighter wing and platoon will be named by the appropriate division leader, and suggestions for the names are more than welcome from anyone.
-This organization scheme does not necessarily change anything in the current story. What fits will be included. Anything that doesn't fit can wait until the story is done.

Are there TIE Bombers aboard it as well?

Is there only one platoon of Army personnel?

No problem Drac, completely understand. Just good to know there's a battalion in support but I'm happy the focus will be on the platoon and in particular, the PC squad.
