Alright people, here it is. I've written Chapter 10 as far as I can and I've officially hit a brick wall. I had a vision of a larger story, but the upside is that you all get to jump into the story sooner. I am going to leave some notes that will help turn the story along the path I had planned for it.

The story is starting off with the Vast Empire cooling its heels in VE space. We're bored and stagnant. We've barely kept up on our static defenses. Rheagent natives have always resented the Empire for occupying their system. The Provisional Government of Rheagent (PGR) has been funded and augmented by the New Republic to infiltrate the Army and Navy. A coordinated sabotage of our fleet goes off across multiple systems, crippling many of our largest ships before the NR's smaller fleet even begins battle.

The VEN Fleet is currently divided to hold three of our systems. The ships in bold are going to be the only ships that survive the fight. Click on the name of the system to see system info on it.

Rheagent is the first to get attacked. Just before NR ships jump into the systems, bombs start going off in multiple ships. Rheagent takes heavy damage, but reinforcements from Vectra help hold the attack off.

Stormz will take half of the Task Force (pretty much the surviving half) to the Rheagent system when they report being under attack, misjudging the scale of the attack. When half of the ships leave to support, Vectra will get hit hard. The Vast Empire will lose control of the Vectra system during Chapter 10.

The Bluepoint 5 shipyard is near the planet Abrae. The unnamed Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer that the Vast Empire purchased is still moored at the shipyard. Budget issues and production setbacks have plagued it since the beginning. The ship is not space-worthy and will be a quick target for the attacking forces. You'll notice I did not bold the name of the ship. VSD Relentless is also in the shipyard getting an update to VSD-II. Upgrades are almost completed and the ship will use its skeleton crew and shipyard personnel to jump to lightspeed when the fight goes south.

This task force will be decimated. The Army will have their hands full on the ground, but they will defend themselves. The chaos in other systems will delay backup, but when reinforcements finally arrive they will scare off the leftovers on the ground and in the air.

This task force will get reports of the attacks while they are away on an exercise. Some confusion about the validity of the reports could be expected as they could assume it is part of the drill. They will eventually split into two groups and support Sian and Rheagent. Some of them will fall to sabotage, some will get destroyed in battle.

One more thing I forgot to cover is that the Army and DJO's ships will not be destroyed during this story. The numbers are few enough that they can all stay. If they are in the line of fire like the Dominion is, they can be among the last living in the system and jump to lightspeed when they can tell they are outgunned. However you'd like to play it, that's just an idea.

One thing I am seeing that may warrant a few post edits is that the PGR is not a military. They are a group of beaurocrats that were put in place by the Vast Empire to keep an unruley system in check. They have gained contacts and have followers that will act as the saboteurs and militia, but they don't have much in the way of ships. That's where the NR's involvement comes in.

Navy people!  We're going to be starting in at least three different star systems, on this story: the Adjudicator and Aurora Squadron have already jumped from Vectra to the battle in the Rheagant System, VENA personnel and half the local defense force are still in the Vectra System (possibly including the Subjugator, which I'll write for this story), and Drac's Halcyon Warrior begins on patrol in outlying systems.  With so many story threads to manage, I'd like the Navy folks to reinstate the "After Action Report" policy, for Chapter 10: this means that at the end of every one of your story posts, you should insert an OOC note summarizing the most important plot points of that post.  It will help us keep track of where we all are, and what's going on there, and let people who fall behind in reading catch up quickly and accurately.

Are the Direcat's getting heavy armaments to take on the landing forces. Like Rockets or turrets, or is it just standard equipment?
