I apologize if I'm jumping the gun a bit, but is there any ETA on Chapter 10, Talon? Maybe having not really posted on the Revival story gives me the wrong perspective, but it looks a little . . . directionless? 123 posts is fucking fantastic, but it seems to be getting a little unwieldy. I literally have zero idea of who is running the story or if anyone even is.

Like I said, activity is great, but structure and guidance is also pretty great as well. A non-canon story is a good way to cut loose and just write to shake off the rust, but eventually we need to step back and start getting some real stories up and going, if even just some small Army/Navy stories.

Think Val was more saying that even a story that isn't canon could use some direction (forgive me if I'm misinterpreting here). Not everyone is wired to just write whatever they feel in this setting. There is some direction (troops on the ground and those weird TIEs...) but even that objective seems a bit vague.

I'm all for freedom and writing whatever. Goodness knows we need to get out of the habit of over structuring. But as someone who likes guidance (even if I choose to break from that structure) it would be nice to have something underneath driving the story so it feels like we have more of an end goal. And this comes from someone who does know what's going on in story even if I can't see the powers at work for whatever ending there might be.

Like everyone in this thread, I'm not sure exactly what we're talking about, but I think maybe what the concern is (Val, please chime in if I'm misinterpreting) is that the Chapter that's in progress isn't a typical Chapter?  Like, we're not continuing the ongoing saga (the same story that's been going since the club's inception), but rather Chapter 10 is going to be something of a reboot/retcon/jump forward in time/something is changing?

I agree that we could all probably afford to relax a little about the details and just enjoy writing more no-strings-attached run-ons, like Revival.  But I understand the concern (again, if I'm interpreting it correctly) that the VE's shared setting is being changed/adjusted in unknown ways, so it's tough to get motivated to invest time and effort writing posts now, that might not "count" once we see the changes to the shared setting that Chapter 10 brings about.

First: am I assuming correctly, Val?  Second: Regardless, Chapter 10 is coming ASAP, and in the meantime both divisions are starting small unit stories for us to focus on.  So let's jump into those!
