(This is a story for all VEA....since I'm a new recruit on Drill Squad its based on that. The story is about a routine training exericise by Drill Squad that goes terribly wrong. Feel free to post. everyone is welcome!!!!!) ***PFC Dark Ryo sat on his bunk inspecting his equipment. Fresh out of basic training, Ryo was now in Drill Squad under the command of Seargeant Major Stormie. Ryo sat down his blaster, and slowly began to prepare for a good nights sleep. In the two weeks since he was transferred here from Drill Squad, Ryo had encountered many sleepless nights through many endless drills and exercises. I guess thats the sacrifice one must make to be a good member of the best combat force in the galaxy, VEA. Ryo slipped into bed and quickly drifted off to sleep. All of a sudden alarms blared out and an annoucement was made over the com system in the Drill Squad barracks. "ATTENTION ALL TROOPERS, REPORT TO THE BRIEFING ROOM NOW. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. I REPEAT, ATTENTION ALL TROOPERS, REPORT TO THE BRIEFING ROOM NOW. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! Ryo jumped out of bed to notice he only had gotten around one standard hour of sleep. He quickly threw on his gear, grabbed his blaster and began to migrate with the rest of the troopers to the Briefing Room. What could this be, an attack? WAR? Finally, Ryo reached the briefing room and piled in with many other Drill Squad members and took a seat. Standing in front was Sergeant Major Stormie, who had a calm, but intense look on his face. The last troopers piled in, and Sergeant Stormie began the briefing. "First off I would like to congradulate you men on arriving here promtly on such short notice, very good time. Now I will let you know whats going on. First, this is what we like to call a Real Combat Simulation. For the next two days Drill Squad will be taking part in a mission which will simulate a real combat situation VEA could take part in. Until this mission is over in two days, everything will be handled and treated as if we were going to partake in a real mission, as shown just a few minutes ago by the annoucement. Now for the mission." Seargeant Stormie clicked on map behind him. "It is 0300 hours right now, at 0600 we will meet at the main docking bay and load onto transports. We will be traveling to the other side of the planet, where Drill Squad will set up base camp right outside a small village. The scenario, a small terrorist faction against the Empire, has been terriorising the locals, and killed Imperials stationed throughout the planet. Our mission, infeltrate their headquarters, and capture their leader. Also, we are to elimilate their headquarters once the leader is in custody. The headquarters in located about 4 miles away from base camp, in an old abandoned warehouse which was converted to their headquarters. A droid army will be stationed in and out of the headquarters to represent the faction forces stationed there. Intel also reports a stronghold of their forces near the halfway point between base camp and the headquarters. Therefore, we must take out that stronghold as well. A group of experienced VEA soldiers who volunteered will respesent that group, so you can get some combat experience with real humans, not just droids." He clicked a button and the map changed to the objectives of the mission: -Take out stronghold -Surround and capture HQ, arrest faction leader -Take out HQ so the faction is destroyed "Your platoon leaders will meet with me shortly and be given more detailed orders. Oh yes, one more thing. We will be using stun beams in this exercise. It won't kill you, but it hurts pretty damn bad and of course takes you out of action for a little while at least. Good luck men. Meet at the docking bay at 0600 to ship out." "ATTENTION!!!", yelled one of the Sergeants up front. All the troopers jumped to attention as Sergeant Major Stormie ended the briefing. "All platoon leaders into the War Room. Drill Squad, DISMISSED!" ********DOCKING BAY 0600 The transports were ready and Drill Squad began to load up. Everything about this mission made each trooper feel like they were really going to battle. While most of the troopers were anxious and excited about the upcoming mission, Ryo felt different. While he didn't know what or why, he just knew something wasn't right, and this missions wasn't going to be what everyone expected........ (my first post...so i hope everyone doesn't think its too bad.....post replies!!!)

*****Ryo sat on the transport holding his blaster as Drill Squad traveled to where base camp was being set up. He looked around at the other troopers happy and excited looks. He didn't understand. The mission seemed all too wierd for some reason. He couldn't pin point it out yet. It just didn't seem logical to have men sitting around waiting for you when know your coming. This was supossed to  be "real combat training", therefore Ryo figured there was more to this mission than meets the eye. Still, he was a trooper and this was his squad, and it was his duty to carry out this mission no matter what. *****The transports reached base camp and doors opened. Sirens were going off, other drill squad troopers who arrived earlier were running around mad. Men were setting up defenses, and Ryo noticed two sergeants pointing to and discussing points a map they were holding. Suddenly, an annoucement was made over the comm system of the base camp. "ATTENTION ALL COMBAT PERSONEL, REPORT TO THE BRIEFING ROOM IMMEDIATLY!" Instantly sergeants directed the troopers to the briefing room, and Ryo realized that it really did feel like they were in combat. Seargeant Major Stormie once again ran the briefing. "Men, intel has been weak, therefore we don't know much more than the general locations of the first base camp we are to take over and eliminate. There have been reports of faction spies reporting our base camp location, so some platoons will stay here and provide defense for base camp. The rest will travel together, first taking out the stronghold thats located somewhere north of here, around 2 miles away. Then, you will move on to the main base, whos exact location is known. One platoon will be designated to capture the leader, while another platoon will back them up." He pointed to the back of the room, where a long line of sergaents stood, many who had been drill sergeants for the drill squad members in basic. "Each platoon has been placed in under the command of one of the sergeants, who will fill you in on each platoons individual assignments. Remember men, this is the real deal. Listen to your commanders, and remember all of your training. Good luck men." Sergeant Stormie then stepped down and another Sergeant stepped up to the podium. "Each platoon is to meet with their commander, who will come and get you. It is now 0745, the main force will be leaving at 1215 hours as of now. Dismissed" *****Ryo and his platoon stood in another room on base camp, a tough looking sergant was speaking to them. "Due to excellent grades in marksmanship and overall combat skills, you and one other platoon will lead the strike force. Your mission is to be the first in and last out. In cordination with the other lead platoon, you will go throughout the targets, and report locations of heavy enemy activity so that the rest of the platoons may organize their strikes. Also, you are the gun down any enimies you see, no questions asked.There is one exception tho, your platoon has also been put in charge of capturing the faction leader." He handed out a picture to each of the men in the platoon. "This this well, you are, under no circumstances to hurt this man or allow him to get hurt. He is vital to VEA. You must return him to base camp healthy. It has been reported and confirmed that you guys are way above the norm in drill squad, therefore I know you will be able to handle it. I will be going into combat with you guys, so exact details will be filled in later. Remember, this isn't set in stone, anything could happen so be ready. We have 4 hours before we leave, so go get some rest. Your going to need it. Dismissed." *****As Ryo talked into the barracks set up in base camp, a platoon of drill squad were leaving the base heading north. He figured their mission was to do some last minute recon hoping to pinpoint the first bases' position. Ryo immediatly laid down and fell asleep. *****BOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ryo jumped up and saw it was only 1027. He grabbed his blaster and ran outside to see what had just happened. He saw Sergeant Stormie running towards the base Command Post with a scared and suprised look on his face. Also, a group of medics were gathering supplies and took off on a small cruiser towards the North. He then remembered the group of troopers who left in that direction a couple hours before. Ryo had been thinking all morning something wasn't right with this mission, and it looks he was proven right..... (OOC: Thanks, and nope this is my first time in VE and first post. I was told i could start a story, so i went with it, and was told you fight with your squad. I hope lots of people post!)

Drill squad is a lot more flexible in terms of members. Plus, Cosmic is doing a trainee AWOL to see who is too incompetent to complete basic training.  When that is completed we should have a list of disposable heroes who never made it out of training for you guys to use (and abuse). I like this story, roll with it. BTW, thanks for jumping in and filling the void Argon.  Let's see if anyone else shows an interest.

"HC this is Fury,"came the voice from the "squawk box","we are under attack, repeat, the training excercise is under attack!" "Well,"said Argon,"that settles it for me.  Someone get Kuroishi off the roof and let's get moving." "Yup,"said Tycho, on his way to the roof,"settles it for me too." The DK formed up and reported to Fury within the hour. [OOC: Nice try Tych, that was a beautiful move    But you're not keeping us out of the action that easily    ]

[OOC: Argon's back!!!!] The rest of the DK marched into the room. "What are you guys going to be doing?"asked DarkRyo. "We're the counter-strike group,"replied Argon,"while you guys defend the place, we get to hit the enemy back." As Drill Squad and Daishi rushed into position, Argon lead the Dread Knights into the deep of the jungle that surrounded this training base. From there, they prepared to attack... (sry if i posted this more thatn once) ...While Sniping101 steathely moves into possision on a hill near the camp. Being part of the Drill Squad left bbehind to guard the base he was assigned Sniper duty for obvious reasons. he found a nice spot in some brush and thew a section of camoe netting over himself to hide his white armor. he then cafefully removed his halmet as to aloww better sighting with his trusty E-11 Marksman. he then took his thermal off his belt and placed it infront of him in case of an emergency. then he took a ration pack out of a pocket and began to eat all the while scanning the area for sign of an attack, the ration pack was very good and he was in no way missing the lunch that was going on down in the camp. as he sat up ther he noticed a flas of metal in a patch of sunight and as quickly as it had come it was gone. he took up the gun and put the scope to his eye and saw in the forest a group of guys that looked like Stoomtroopers, but the had on Blackish armour, they looked kinda like Dark Troopers, he thought. He then quickly, but softly, spoke into his helmet that was in the brush to the side of him."Sir we have a group of men in Blackish armour moving this way, about 10 in number, awaiting orders" He wasnt sure about these guys, they looked suspisious to him so he carefully tooke the comunicator part out of his halmet and plased it in his ear. Then he raised his gun to keep a better tab on them trough the scope.

Sniping used a coupla quik hand signals to tell Shard to put the grenade away and to turn his intercom back on. "Wait" Shards Com crackled with Snipings voice," I am Waiting for an identitie from base on these guys". "put your helmet on" a voices cracled to Sniping," we need to see whats happening up ther" Sniping obedieantly put his halmet back on and switched the sctrum on his goggles to infrared, but as soon as he did that he lost sight of them. He then switched back to normal spectrum, wich was more like whering sunglasses, pluss it was a cloudy day, so it took him a few minutes to find his prey, when he found them they seem to have stopped and began hiding in bushes over looking the camp. "HQ the bogies have taken a posision over looking the "HomeTown" please advise," Sniping wispered ugently over the Comunicator. he still believed that HomeTown was a stupid code name for the base, but ther was no time to argue now. He quickly placed a silencer type device to his gunn barrel and waited for confermation to begin. he new that shard was haviong an "itchy trigger finger" kind of day and wanted to get an order ASAP. "Shard, you got your silencer attatched?" Sniping queryed over the com. "Yes, i do," came Shards voice over the com. VOOMST! ablaser bolt went wizzing right past Sniping101s head into the brush behind him, Sniping looked down at the "Blackies" and saw one of them was firing at him. "Sir, Please advise, We are being fired upon" Sniping ugently  pleaded over the com. a few seconds and 5 blaster bolts later another voice came over the com" Take them down" was all it said, but it was enough. Sniping took his time to line up his shots, he first fired at the one firing at him, ! the bolt just bonced off! "umm sir we have a problem, Blasters have no affect on them" Sniping spoke cooly, this was his elemant, ppl firing at him and him witha slow firing, powerfull and accurite gun and a very large problem. Five more blaster bolts wizzed past his head, this time they wher Shards. they all bounced off the "blackie" and went flying in diffrent directions, all of a sudden Sniping felt a pain in his waist, he looked down and saww a patch of scorched armour and flesh, he had been hit. it was not fatle but it hurt alot.
