Actually, the Naval Ranks have undergone a bit of an overhaul since you were last active, Jaden. We've introduced a temporary rank of Officer Candidate, for those who haven't yet completed their FOCE, and the addition of that rank makes it LOOK like some folks got demoted, when really it's just a retcon. It's just that your rank level was previously known as 2nd Lieutenant, and is now known as Ensign. There's been no actual taking away of earned rank.
