Firstly, appologies for my not following the protocol for the Naval forum board. i am still geting used to a different protocol.

Good afternoon everyone.

My name is Joshua "Yoshi" Wetere, I have joined the VE after serving for 2 Years in the Galactic Empire: Empire Reborn and 5 Years in the Imperial Directorate.

After the GE:ER closed down due to inactivity i moved over to the Imperial Directorate and served until the Imperial Directorate closed down due to inactivity. I'm kind of hoping the VE doesn't close down as well :P

I have served in my career in the GE:ER as a squad member, Squad Leader, Platoon Commander.

I have served in the Imperial Directorate as, Crew Member, Ship XO, Ship CO in the Naval Fleet and as a Squad Member, Squad XO, Squad CO, Platoon Commander, and finally reached my terminal rank and position as the Stormtrooper Chief of Staff with a TAD as a Trainer in the Directorate Academy.

I have been missing this kind of RP action and online play, so i am looking to get as involved as possible and of course to having a lot of fun.

I have chosen the Naval Fleet to re start my career as its been where i have spent the most of my online career.

Also, i'm Australian so please beware of the time difference

Hi there, Yoshii!

I'm Gurlanin, the Squadron Executive Officer for 58th 'Strill' Squadron. Unfortunately, none of our Training Officers are online at the moment, but they'll get to you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, check out the VEN's wiki page, and decide if you want to follow the Fleet route (working as a crewman on the Capital Ships) or the Starfighter Corps. route (working as a fighter pilot).

And don't worry about timezones. We've got many different people, from all over the world, here in the VE. I, myself, am from the UK.

Welcome to the Vast Empire Naval Academy, Yoshii! I'm Training Officer Maroy, and I'm in charge of guiding you while you are in our Orientation program.

As you've probably noticed, we here in the Vast Empire do play-by-post roleplaying. As a new Crewman, you'll start out in either Flight School or Fleet School. Graduates from Flight School become members of a squadron in the Starfighter Corps, while graduates from Fleet School become bridge officers on one of the Navy's warships. Higher positions, some of which require you to take leadership over other members, will open up as you advance through our ranks.

That concludes Imperial Initiation, the first part of your training. You are now free to begin working on the second part, located on the Vast Empire's wiki: Basic Training. Basic Training is designed to familiarize and prepare you for the privileges and duties of a typical member of the Vast Empire Navy.

Upon completion of Basic Training, you may proceed to Fleet School on the wiki and begin working on the first chapter, 'Character Development'. It will guide you through the process of creating a biography and ID line for your character. Please note that any and all references to the Force or related concepts such as lightsabers are strictly forbidden. All in-character posts, including your bio, should be written in third-person past-tense unless otherwise stated. Please post a reply to this thread with both your biography and ID line, so I can review them and offer corrections if necessary.

I am here to help, so if you have any questions please contact me in one of the following ways:
  •  Comnet Message
  •  Javachat IRC or your own IRC client
  •  Reply to this thread

If for any reason I do not reply to any of the above within two or three days, contact any other member of the Navy and they should be able to help.

Again, welcome to the Vast Empire! Good luck in whatever path you follow!

Regards,

Training Officer Maroy

Physical Description
Joshua “Yoshii” Wetere is an average sized male human standing 180 centimetres tall,
weighing 80 kilograms he fits right in to the standard ratio for a male of his age.
He normally has light brown hair which is always kept neat and tidy and has bright hazel coloured
eyes.

He has a 9 inch scar on his mid left side of his chest from his time aboard the HMAS Salvager, which
was inflicted when the raiders attacking the ship began to bombard it, and a piece of the hull cut him
as he dove into the life boat

Personality
Joshua “Yoshii” Wetere is a complex man to describe. He has a deep sense of honour, this stems from
the family tradition of military service going back 10 generations.

He at the same time dislikes violence
after witnessing the destruction of live boats evacuating crew from an abandoned ship.

He strives to prove himself as a strong person, which is part of a deep seeded feeling of his having fault in the death of his comrades.

He will however follow orders and follow them to the tee.
Wetere has a great sense of humour and will often try to lighten awkward or weird moments with a well
timed joke.

Character’s Background
Wetere's child hood was like any others, games with friends, schooling. It was a middle class life but a good one.

At he age of 16 Wetere's father died, after this he tried several times to run away from home.

When he was successful in his last attempt he went to the local port and lied about his age by 2 years and joined
the crew of a salvage ship. He found it to be satisfying, always a different area, always a different salvage.

It helped him to cope with the feelings of his dads death, feelings he didn’t want to share or deal with so he pushed them down and kept them there.

He fell in love with the ships XO and after 1 year of keeping this a secret the crew finally found out. As she was his commanding officer one of the two had to be moved of the
ship. Luck played a part in the arrival of another ship, a cruiser, and his love departed with the promise of one
day meeting again.

Then when all seemed to be right in life, one fateful day the HMAS Salvager was attacked by raiders who claimed the scrap was their property. The captain refuted this but as we were out gunned there was no choice but to surrender the scrap.

The raiders had Wetere and his fellow crew members move the scrap onto their ship before ordering us back to our ship with safe passage out of the sector.

As the thrusters bleared into life to get them out of there the raiders opened fire and began to bombard the ship, there was no choice but to get to the life boats and evacuate.

As the crew got to the life boats and started to escape a piece of shrapnel sliced against Wetere's chest and he fell to the ground.

One of the bridge crew grabed him and got him onto the life boat. The boats ejected and before they cleared the HMAS Salvager the raiders opened fire, destroying 3 of the 5 life boats, 15 people killed in a cowardly move.

After this Wetere vowed that he would avenge his comrades and help protect the empire agains these tyrant like cowards. But deep down he would always second guess himself and try to avoid violence lest more people should die.

Looks good to me. Nice work There's no such a thing as too much detail, so feel free to add more tidbits as you find your character's quirks. For now, go ahead and do your ID line and wiki page. Use the resources on the wiki, and feel free to look at other recruits' work if it'll help. As always I'll try to be available for questions.

Apologies for the delay The final assignment is a report PMed to myself and the captain you'll be serving under (Trykon) as well as pasted to this thread. Unless he says differently, this template should be fine. Reports are due via PM to your captain by midnight on Thursday, CST. The Message Center can be accessed via a button at the top of any ComNet page.

Also, most members place their ID lines and a link to their wiki page in their ComNet signature as a matter of convenience for themselves and other members. It's not required, but it's recommended once you've been placed on active assignment. Your signature can be modified on the Profile page, which can also be accessed through a button near the top of any ComNet page.

Congratz Senior Crewman, you've been cleared for active duty and have been assigned to the Adjudicator. Report now to Trykon, as your current CO, and discuss your new position, your plans for the current stories as well as any future intentions you may have.

*Salute*

Thank you sirs, it will be my honor to serve aboard the Adjudicator/

*Salute*

i have updated my ComNet signature and wiki page to reflect
the changes.

i do have one question, it may sound ungratefull but did i do something extra to get Senior Crewman in stead of leading crewman?

You mean you weren't the one that bribed me with all that Red Stuff? Dang... must've made a mistake after all

Then again you did post fairly fast, easily acknowledged and executed your TO's instructions and from what I hear (I may eventually check for myself at some time) your story post was overall filled with both quantity and quality. Hence the double promotion.

That said, your first rank is honestly inconsequential in the large scheme of things... It is merely a testament to how you started out - what truly matters though is what you do from now on: general activity, story participation, prose quality and whatever other projects you may deem fit to undertake on your own...
