Jubei, Otto, Dee, Shadow, Strider, the3dJedi, and TJ were all lounging in the cantina, sipping drinks before the big mission. They were relaxing, and taking a load off, talking of new products in the Imperial Center, old friends, memories of pranks pulled of the Dread Knights, and generally having a good time.
Suddenly, Rizzit burst into the cantina and came over to them.
"Guys," he said, "we have our mission, you have 10 minutes to pack your gear, then were moving out and boarding our assalut craft, I'll mission brief you on the way, but pack light, this mission requires stealth and secrecy, not brute strength."
Jubei raised his hand, and said,"So no thermal det's right?"
"No, jubei, you can take them, but only use them if it gets hairy down there." Rizzit replied.
A big sloppy grin spread over jub's face as he thought of emplying his toll of destruction once again. "Any other questions?" Rizzit inquired.
"Yeah, i have one," Dee said, "Do we get any sim-time?, because i really have an urge to kill a gungan right about now."
"Just look in your room Dee, I left a present for you." Otto joked. The entire squad shared a hearty laugh at Dee's expense. Then Rizz got serious again.
"Ok guys. lets get serious now, you have 7 minutes to pack your gear. Lets move out." Rizzit ordered.
The squad ran to their quarters, Jubei walked, "no need to hurry," he said to himself. Jubei reached his room with 5 minutes left. He opened the door and retreived his belongings. Strapping on his armor, he shouldered his sniper rifle and his repeater, grabbed a field pack and stuffed it with 15 thermal dets, and put in some climbing gear he just purchased, just in case he would need it, then went to find his flask. When he saw it, he paniked. It was laying, upside down, empty. "NOOOOOOOOO" Jubei yelled. He grabbed the flask and his gear, then bolted out of his room. He ran all the way back to the cantina, and spent the few creds he had left on some schnapps to fill his flask. Then he sprinted to the docking bay, and arrived just as the other RAIDERS got there.
Rizzit looked at Jubei, who was dobled over, panting like a dog, and just laughed. "What did i tell you about losing weight" Rizzit poked.
"Fine, ill lose weight, but then i'll be small and weak, it's muscle not fat Rizz, you know that." Jubei replied sarcastically.
Eveyone laughed at Jubei, then Rizzit gave the order to board the shuttle...

Shadow glanced over at Otto as the two men prepared to board the assault shuttle. The RAIDERS squad XO looked a tad down so the older man walked over and laid a hand on his shoulder.
"Is everything all right, Otto?"
"Oh, don't worry about him," Jubei yelled back. "He's in love."
"Yeah, he found himself a woman and now he doesn't want to leave her," D-13 chided.
"He could die out there," Strider chimed in sarcastically.
"Hey, back off!" Shadow yelled before they could say anything else. He stepped between Strider and Otto and in a flash there were two shimmering katanas in his hands. One of the blades rested against Strider's throat and the other was pointed straight at Dee's chest. "Leave him be."
The rest of the RAIDERS came back down the boarding ramp to see what all of the commotion was. the3DJedi let out a yelp when he saw the two blades.
"What's going on here?" Rizzit demanded.
Shadow frowned before he tucked the swords back into their respective sheaths. Befor he could say anything, Otto replied, "Shadow was just looking out for me."
Rizzit peered at each of the men and then waved them onto the shuttle. "We don't have time for this. Get on board. Otto, Shadow, I'll talk to you more later."
"Yes, sir," they answered.
As the troops headed into the ship, Vox leaned over to Shadow. "Tell me something. Have you ever loved a woman?"
Shadow simply nodded, then headed for his seat. -----------------------

As TJ strapped himself into his seat, he glanced out the window. It would be a while until he was back here again. Even the trip to Joralla seemed like it would last a century. The things that had happened in the last few weeks had disturbed the Colonel...why, he wasn't exactly sure. Everything was beginning to seem like it was going extremely slow, when it was in fact going really fast and he could not keep up.
TJ lay back and thought to himself once the ship had launched and was on it's way. He had been back in action for only a few months now and the number of missions he had been already, seemed to be getting to him. Even with the couple days off now and then, the work had become to overwhelm him.
'This is not how I should be feeling,' he thought to himself. TJ let out a heavy sigh, before drifting off to sleep, wondering if things would return to normal soon. -----------------------

Otto scrambled to nab the seat next to Shadow, a slot usually reserved for D-13. The younger man frowned at him, but Otto ignored him; now was not the time to get into it with Dee. Besides, he would find a nice little surprise in his quarters when they returned from this mission. As long as Shadow didn't walk in first and find the surprise, that is. There wouldn't be anything left of it then, Otto thought.
Anyway, that's not what he was here to think - to talk - about. Gunnery Sergeant Vox strapped himself in, and once the shutle's engines flared to life, he leaned over to Shadow and asked, "So who was she?"
"What?" the black-clothed trooper asked.
"The girl, woman, that you were in love with."
"Did I ever say it was a human?"
Otto blinked. "Well, uh, no..."
"On top of that, did I ever say it was a female?"
Otto's jaw dropped. What was Shadow implying? The swordsman busted out laughing, a very rare site.
"Hey, I'm just pulling your leg. But, really, I don't want to talk about it."
"Bad breakup?" Otto asked.
Shadow stared out the viewport for a few moments.
"Yeah, you could say that."
"Well, what was her name?" Otto asked.
"Maranda. Now leave me alone. Please?" He turned back toward the window and frowned, thoughts drawn in on himself. Otto did the same after a moment, content to ponder on the days ahead. -----------------------

"ENOUGH!!!!!!!"Thundered Rizzit as he stormed into the area where all his squad members were."Here we are heading to go stop some pirates, and all you seven are doing is talking like we are going to a strip bar or something. Now, I know that we all have our fantasies, but it has got to stay in the lounge area back home. Now, we are almost at Joralla. When we get down there I expect total co operation from all of you in establishing the command base. TJ, I want to thank you for staying out of this mess. The rest of you: If I see this type of activity again, I am demoting you!"
The RAIDERS very solemly and slowly went to get their things, as they knew the ship was coming up on Joralla. They also knew that Rizzit was right--they should not have been acting like they did. Instead, they should have been preparing for their mission. The ship began to make it's landing approach. The droid started the landing cycle, and they landing commenced. Once the ship had landed safely on Joralla, Rizzit had cooled down. He proceeded to go to the squad and tell them to exit the shuttle. They all exited with Rizzit and Otto in front, and the rest of the squad marching by twos behind them. They were all in full uniform, and were going to find a spot to set up a communications base. -----------------------

Shadow stood atop the lookout hill near the small cavern where the Raiders had chosen to set up their communications base. He carried a pair of Electrobinoculars to scout with, but for now he was just taking in the view. He already surveiled the area; the recon effort had showed nothing out of the ordinary.
"Is everything okay up there?" TJ asked over the comm link Shadow held in his other hand.
The stormtrooper lifted the piece of plastic and metal closer to his mouth and responded. "Yes, Colonel. Everything checks out here. There is some dense foilage nearby that one of us could hide in, as a permanent scout. That way no one will sneak up on the cavern without us knowing."
"Good idea, Sergeant," TJ replied, "but they may not be necessary. Rizzit and I can probably handle the early warning detection with the Force."
"If you feel your powers are that highly attuned, I don't see why not. Should I return to base, then?"
"Yes, we still need some help setting up this equipment. Rizzit has gone off somewhere to submit a report to Captain Japer, so we're two men short."
"Otto's in command again?"
"That's right."
"I'll be down there right away," Shadow snapped. TJ just laughed and ended the transmission.

By the time Shadow made his way down the hill and into the small encave the other troops had finished setting up most of the equipment.
"Now we just need to set up our turrets and sensor stations," Otto was saying, directing D-13 and Jubei toward some large crates off to the side. Their shuttle had left a few hours earlier, devoid of all of its cargo.
Most of those crates had held the various pieces of communications equipment now scattered around the cave.
Shadow walked over to one of the computers but the machine was powerless.
"Do you want me to get started setting these up?" he called to Otto.
"Oh, Shadow. I didn't see you there. Yeah, go ahead and get started on that. I'll be right over to help."
"That's okay, I can handle it myself. You worry about another one."
"All right then," Otto answered before turning his attention back to giving some orders to the3DJedi.
Strider wandered over on his way to scout out the back of the cave for any possibly harmless lifeforms. He glanced around to make sure that no one was looking and then bent down to where Shadow was working on the computer.
"Hey, what was going on back on the shuttle?"
"I'm not sure," the dark trooper responded. "Obviously Rizzit was eavesdropping on Otto and I and he didn't like our subject matter."
"What were you talking about?"
"Girls."
"Ohhh. Not smart," Strider chided.
"I guess not. It won't happen again while he's around, that's for sure."
"I wonder what his problem is..." Strider mumbled.
"We need to keep our minds on the mission," Shadow said, mocking Rizzit's voice.
"That's cold."
"Yeah, I know; sorry. He's probably just gay or something." Strider's eyes widened. "Not that there's anything wrong with that."
The sniper shook his head. "You're weird, man. Do you know that?" Shadow just grinned and went back to work. "Just, watch your mouth, okay?"
"Oh, I can be quiet, Strider. You ought to know that by now."
The younger man just nodded and headed off to do his job. -----------------------

"Great," Jubei thought, "why do i have to get stuck lifting the crates, I just recovered from that tunnel mission, now this." He grunted as he lifted his burden, and musceled it over to where the turret was supposed to be set up.
He quickly unpacked the box, not wanting another explosion out of rizzit for him taking too long. he went back to the other crates and pulled out a tool belt, then began assembling one of the blaster turrets. Humming one of his favorite tunes to lighten his mood, he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. His hand went straight to his blaster, but then discovered that it was only D-13. Jubei pulled out his blaster and leveled it on his friends forehead.
"Never...EVER..sneak up on me again, or I'll tie you up and drop you on the PLanet Naboo in the middle of a Gungan festival...GOT IT?" Jubei said menacingly...then broke into a wide grin, "Just kidding Dee, I'm not as cruel as Rizzit or Otto."
The other trooper did not smile until Jubei put down his blaster and turned back to his work.
"Jub, somtimes i can't tell when your just f'in me, and when your dead serious." Dee complained. "You scare me man. I mena, hear you are, this huge guy, with not only a gun, but sevreal guns, a laser turret, and thermal detonators. *sigh* if only you hated gungans as much as me, wed have a grand time together."
"DOnt worry dee, this will be easy, no killing, unless its provoked, and whats more, we get to steal stuff...what could be better?"
"An MMR-rocket system and an empty plain full of Gungans?" Dee suggested slyly.
"Alright, lets get back to work you two," said a voice from the shadows. "Rizzit wants this all up and running by the time he gets back, so lets step on it."
"Yeessir, Otto." Jubei and Dee replied.
Dee went back to setting up some communications gear as Jubei finished off the first turret. great, only 3 more to go Jubei thought. oh well, back to work

Jube took a final look at his turrets, then wiped the sweat from his eyes. He wnet and sought out Otto and reported to him abot his progress.
"There, just put the finishing touches on the last turret. I implemented a targeting package that fires on anything that doesn't have a VE profile, Its just a little thing i whipped up, it includes every VE profile so it sets up an indicator sort of like the IFF on fighters, should work pretty well...In theory...just dont let anybody wander beyond the perimeter."
"Good, Jubei, good. you can take the first watch since your done first, Shadow found a good spot for a scout, so you take that post, and jed will relieve you soon. Rizz and TJ seem to think that they can sense any threat coming, but i dont want to take any chances." Otto replied
"Yessir." Jubei said. he saluted his XO, then shouldered his sniper rifle and repeater, and went to ask Shadow abou this scouting place he found... -----------------------

Shadow took a look around the hill for the second time that day. He had guided Jubei up to the ridge because it was his turn to scout. The other Sergeant had set up camp in the dense brush, cleverly camouflaged from the naked eye. Unless, of course, their opponents could see in infared or ultraviolet. There was little they could do to combat that with the little resources they had without taking drastic measures. Jubei seemed to believe that he was hidden enough, so Shadow let him be.
"Don't you think you had better get back on down to the command center?" Jubei whispered.
Shadow turned around. "Yes. Is there anything else you need?"
"No, I'm cool. Just tell Dee that I found a Gungan colony out to the Southwest and see what he does."
Shadow stared openly at the other man. Jubei was about to speak again, but the black-armored stormtrooper just spun around in a tight 180 and headed back down to base.
"Cold as ice," Jubei murmured.

the3DJedi had finished his orders and came back to report in to Otto. As the two were conversing, Strider returned from the rear of the dark cave. His glowlight was flickering; he had been wise to return before it lost power.
"Did you find anything?" Otto asked.
"No, we're all clear. There's nothing bigger than a small rodent back there and I saw nothing poisonous."
"Let's hope not," Jedi mumbled.
Otto nodded in agreement. "Yes, I would hate to have to report to Rizzit or Japer that we lost someone to a snakebite."
"Is there anything else I need to do now?" Stirder asked, leaning foward on his sniper rifle. He looked eager for battle, something Otto was hoping to avoid for awhile longer.
"We're going to test our turrets sometime soon; after Rizzit returns. Until then, you can go double-check Shadow's work on the communications equipment."
"Are you sure that's wise? Testing the turrets out in the open here?" Strider questioned. "What if someone sees them firing?"
"Well, at least we'll know we've come to the right place," Otto replied. Strider thought he was joking, but the squad's XO just winked and turned back to go check on D-13's progress with their prefab shelters. -----------------------

Jubei sighed as Shadow stalked away back to the base remind me never to piss that guy off Jubei thought to himself, he's kinda scarier than me at times He then stood up and took a look around with his macrobinocs, and when he saw nothing, sat down and waited for jed to relieve him.
Minutes ran into hours, and still no Jed, jub hummed a tune to himself to keep from nodding off. juei stood up to stretch, and caught a glimmer out in the wood.s he pulled out his macrobincoulars again, and saw somehting shimmering in the woods about a click off.
"Otto, this is jubei, I have a contact about 1 click from my position, i don't know what it is. Its staitionary and reflects light, so it might be metal. The woods are to dense to pick up shape, but i request permission to check it out. over'
"Ok Jub, but i want you back in 30 mins, no more, if theres trouble, bust your ass back, and get backup. And for god's sake, dont blow anything up." Replied the XO
"Yessir" A Big grin spread across Jub's face as he thought of blowing somehting up. But then realized he only had 1/2 hr, so he jogged off inthe direction of the metallic object.
Ducking and weaving between foilage and trees, Jubei enered th forest and came upon the object. He was amazed at what he saw. There was the wreckage of 2 fighters, an X-Wing, and a Tri-fighter, obviously the property of the pirate gang. Wow, the Alliance, here? But this is deep in Imperial Space. Jubei thought.
"Otto this is Jubei, we may have a problem here. I found the wreckage of an X-wing fighter here, we may not be alone with these pirates...heading back to base, Jubei out."
Jubei ran full speed through the foilage, bouding back to his scouting spot, and packed up the gear. Just then his comlink clicked
"Jubei, thisis RIzzit, get back to base now, i want a full report on what you found." Jubei saw Jed come over the hill, to relieve him, so he jogged back to base and went to find rizzit... -----------------------

"Otto, this is Rizzit! How are things coming along with the base?" said Rizzit over the com-link.
"Good. We have the turrets set up and ready to be tested, and are just about ready to go. I put Shadow out on first watch."
"Okay, I am here with Captain Japer now. I will be returning shortly."
"Roger that."
Rizzit put away his com-link."Things are going ahead on schedule." he said.
"Great." replied Captain Japer."You and PeaceMaker may start the mission. Good luck, and may the force be with you."
Rizzit and Peacemaker saluted and exited the room. "Good luck PM" said Rizzit. "I gotta go get back to my squad."
Rizzit hopped on a speeder and raced back towards his base. He was amazed to see that everything was set up as it should be. Otto greeted him when he arrived. He then gave the okay to proceed.
"All of you are to follow me and Otto. Bring only your rifles and keep them tucked away. This is one mission we are trying to avoid the fighting, so let's get going!"said Rizzit as he lead his troops towards their destination. -----------------------

Rizzit noticed that Jubei wasn't back yet. where is he? Rizzit pondered. just then, Jubei burst through the bruch, with Jed in tow.
"Rizz.." Jubei gasped as he sucked for air, "I found the wreckage of an X-wing in the woods about a click and half due east. There's not a lot of rust or plant lgowth on the wreckage, so i think its recent. The X-Wing had Rebellion markings on it, so i dont think that it was a vagabond or aynything. We may need to pack a little more firepwoer with us, just incase were not alone."
"Alright Jub, good work out there." Rizzit turned to address the squad. "Were still taking the same amount of firepower wih us, but i want everything here ready if we need to make a hasty retreat if things get hairy. Jubei, Otto tested your program and its works pretty well, set it in all the turrets, then lock everything down. Shadow, set a heavy 128bit encryption on it, so it snot easy to hack into. Dee, Jed, and Strider hide the heavy ammo in the cave we explored so we can hole up there if we need to. TJ, Otto, come with me, were gonna see if we can't pick anything up with the force. I want to be out of here in 5 minutes people. Now...GO"

"Ok thats the last of it Rizz" Dee announced as he, strider and jed exited the cave.
TH RAIDERS Squad now began to finally move off towards the pirate base, rifles hidden, and jubei's thermals even more carefully, hidden. He wasn;t a Dark Jedi, but Jubei still had a feeling that eventually, this may get hairy, and he'd be gald he had his "stuff" with him... -----------------------

Rizzit picked up his commmunicator, and Radioed the Dark Dragoons. He and the RAIDERS could handle this job alone, but he thought that since they had to work together on this: he would offer help to the Dark Dragoons.
"PeaceMaker, this is Rizzit. Are you there?"Rizzit said.
On the other end, back at Dark Dragoons base, WM had picked up his communicator. When he did, Rizzit's mug appeared for him, and vice-versa.
"Rizz? Ya, I am here. What's the matter?"
"Nothing. I figured that seeing we are on this cooky assignment together, that we might as well work together."
"Good Idea! We will meet at your base seeing it is closer."
"Okay, I will expect your men here at 06:00 hours."
"Roger that."
Both ends closed connections. They knew thatt this was in the best interest of both of their squads. Rizzit went to brief the squad. He had Otto run and gather the troops together. As usual, he did not feel like doing the dirty work. Once everyone was there he began to speak.
"Okay, I just got off with PeaceMaker. The DarkDragoons will meet us here tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I want Shadow and Dee to take the walkers and do some scouting in the AT-ST. We don't know much about this area, so I wanna learn a bit more. Also, Jed and Jubei: Make sure that all equiptment is working properly. Teej: you and `Strider get on the speeders to look for enemies and assist with the scouting. Otto and I will hold up the fort until the DarkDragoons come. When they arrive, I will call you all back. See you then."Rizzit said as most of his squad left to go scout the area.
