I have no idea how to say this: I survived my first house fire tonight.

Everyone is okay.  It was my friend's house, and we got out, along with her cat.

Her car sort of exploded in the driveway - who knew that was even a thing, outside of movies? - which is right under the living room's bay window.  We heard nothing.  We smelled no smoke.  The neighbors banging on the door was the first we realized anything was wrong, and by that point the whole facade of the turn-of-the-century Victorian was a wall of flames.  Sort of still can't believe it all.

At any rate, it's been an eventful few hours.  She's still at her place, with her mom and insurance people, trying to figure out what to do about the now-door-less, flooded garage, and I've taken some of her things and her cat to my place for the night.  Right now, I'm waiting for the terrorized kitty to come out from under my bed, and I thought I'd open my laptop while I waited.

So, um, I'll be delayed, getting back from my little leave.  I'm not even really sure where my laptop charger is.  Again, everyone's fine.  I just anticipate having to deal with this for a while.

Indeed Trick!  Sympathies to your friend and I hope her insurance covers it.  Take all the time you need to help that poor cat!

All these Hollywood movies never show the real life effect things like this have. Glad that you're all ok, and, like Hades said, come back when it's all sorted.

Many people are out right now, but those who are still around, don't despair!    Sometimes, there are just lulls.  Activity'll pick back up.

And speaking of, this weekend I may not have internet access.  Nevertheless, I should be able to keep up with the ComNet on my phone, and I'll bring my laptop just in case.  At the very least, I can work on posts in Word, offline.    See you all on Monday, for sure.

I'm back, folks.  Didn't get to write this weekend, because I was too busy having the most fun EVER.    That said, I'll work up a short combat sequence sometime today.
