Hey, Navy.
I just wanted to give a quick heads-up that another division of the VE - the mysterious Dark Jedi Order - is accepting applications at the moment.
Right now there are only two active members of the DJO who started their player-characters in the Navy division, and I, for one, would love to see the VEN better represented in the ranks of the Force-users.

It's a Navy pride thing, sure, but it's also because I know firsthand how challenging - and rewarding - membership in the DJO can be, and I want my friends in this division (pretty much all of you guys) to benefit from it the way I have.
The Dark Jedi Order isn't just a chance to write about the Force, and lightsabers, and Sith Lords (Although that part's pretty fun, too. Let's be honest, we
are Star Wars fans)... the DJO is also a chance to join a proper writers' group, where you can receive intensive feedback on your stories and experiment with longer-form pieces and darker, more emotionally-intense subject matter than you can in the VEA or VEN.
I'm very proud of the prose that Navy members turn out. The quality of posts and stories has gotten very, very good, around here, and the personal stories of many VENI members in particular are getting into novelette territory...
...but it isn't quite the same thing as the DJO.
Many of you are new, I know, and others may have been absent for a spell, and either way you may have doubts about your eligibility. Do me a favor: if you are at all interested in the DJO, apply to join. The worst that can happen is your application is turned down this time around, and you can try again in six months or so. But the best thing that could happen? You could join the Dark Jedi Order - with your current player-character or a new one - right before the club starts Chapter 9.
For those who don't know, "Chapters" are club-wide mega-stories, where club canon is moved forward in IC time with momentous IC events of truly Galactic significance. This coming Chapter is especially historic, because the DJO will be more open and integrated with the other divisions than ever before, over the entire run of the story. Wouldn't it be cool to go into something like that with the "no-Force rule" lifted from you and your character?
So, if you have concerns, share them in your application materials. But please, do yourself - and the Navy - a favor, and apply.
