Ok I've planned a very busy weekend for us, I hope as many of you as possible will be able to participate today and tomorrow.  Since it is a weekend, you people in school will have the opportunity to play which is a good thing!!

Before hand, just a few news and notes.

1. If you haven't reported yet, do so.

2. Cloud if you can be on sometime tonight or tomorrow I need to talk with ya, i have some things i need to discuss in realtime chat format.

3. the website is slowly moving along, I have a few ideas to help stimulate its speed

4. Get ready for COMPETITION WEEKEND #1!


I have planned three competitions for you all, all money and prizes will be awarded at a squad gathering Sunday night which I will discuss first.

1. Sunday night Squad Gathering.  I want to have this weekly, it is where I will outline some things for the up coming week as well as host a few fun games and what not.  Just some good fun and activity.  These will start at 8pm est and run until about 10pm.  If you can't make the meeting at the start, feel free still to come and play some of the games and stuff.  I will also announce winners of our weekend competitions.

2. Weekend Posting Competition.  Posting activity has been excellent but now it's time to spice it up a bit.  Starting now, all chapter 8 posts and specialty posts will be added up between now and and the squad gathering.  Every chapter post will earn you 500ics and every specialty story will earn you 1000ics.  The top writer in the next two days will recieve the sum of 25,000ics on top of the money they earned from each post.

3. JKO Competition.  Each week for the next month I will be trying a different format of JKO competition.  At the end of the month at our Sunday gathering, I will hold a vote to see which format everyone liked the best.  That will be the one we use for further squad competitions in the future.  This week's format is a simple one, it's the exact same as Raziel's platoon one from the start of chapter 8.

Rules and Scoring:

-You must duel someone in the squad
-Duels go to 5
-Winner gets 2 points, loser gets 1.  If you double the loser's score (ie win 5-2, 5-1) you earn 3 points, if you shut out the loser (ie. win 5-0) you earn 4 points.  Every point you earn will earn you 500ics and the top player at the end of the weekend will be announced at the squad gathering.  That player will earn 25,000ics.

Those are our competitions for this weekend, all of them begin right now so good luck you all, winners will be announced Sunday night.  I will update the progress tomorrow evening on here.

BUT THATS NOT ALL!!!

Sunday night will involve some very simple games this week as I'm still working on more complex stuff down the road.  I'm thinking it'll be some blackjack, pool, and bowling in addition to maybe some writing and JKO.  So just a very simple laid back fun night this week.

now for competitions that are not for just this weekend.

Graphics Competition:

A website is nothing without excellent graphics, therefore, for the next two weeks (possibly longer), I am having a graphics competition.  All graphic submittions will earn 2,500ics and the makers of the graphics I end up using for various parts of the site will earn an additional 2,500ics.

Rules:

-Graphics must be UNIQUE
-Graphics should be things that are useful to the website, whether they be pictures of our characters, of equipment, banners, graphics for the menu, background images, battlescenes, etc.

The website colour scheme is blue, black, and silver with some white text so keep that in mind for your menu images.

Name that Lounge Competition:

I am buying a large fancy yacht for the squad (not sure which one yet but I'll let you know soon) and it will be both our lounge and our squad headquarters.  It will be used in our story as our own little place so it will be quite important and I want to use it as a link on our site as it will be where I post all our little competitions and what not since it is our lounge.

Now then, I need a name for this ship.  Please post your entries on the comnet right here.  Next Sunday, I will pick the top three and we will vote.  Winner will recieve 10,000ics and will  have a special mention on the site about it.  Good luck to you all!

Alright a little project for all of you this week when you have some extra time.

What I'd like from you in an e-mail is the following information which I will be using for your profiles and other things on the squad website.

1. A detailed description of your character, home planet, species, physical appearence, etc.

2. Your character biography, if you haven't written one then guess what your assignment is.

3. A list of the VE supported games you own.  The roster has a habit of being severely out dated so I'm asking for your updated lists.

4. Anything else of importance we should know about your character, favourite or special weapons, if you have pictures of em even better, etc.  Just so I have some interresting and useful stuff to put on the site.  Ultimately the more we know about each other's characters, the better we can write.
