Well, Trick, that was some of the most awesome dogfighting I've seen to date. Maybe it's just the scenario that gave me the shivers but the fact stands - I loved the post. The reference to Top Gun might have helped, too

Ha.  No time in this story, but I do miss the cockpit sometimes.  It's certainly a possibility. 

One thing, though, folks: I forgot that I'm going away this weekend to the mountains with some friends.  That means I won't have internet access on Saturday.  Which throws a wrench in my plan to do the invasion of the Sollamens post on Saturday morning.

So, we have a few options, now:

1.) I move the story on by FRIDAY morning (my time), giving us just slightly more than 32 hours to wrap up the CD storylines we're workin' on, starting right now.
2.) I delay, and move the story on by MONDAY morning, giving us all weekend to finish up this stage/rest before the next stage.
3.) I delegate the moving-on post to my incredibly competent Fleet XO, Serpent.  Assuming he's around this weekend, HE can post on Saturday.

Okay.  So, everyone can feel free to weigh in on this decision here, but I'm most interested in hearing from the SCOs, Serpent, and Grey, to make sure whatever we do fits with all of their plans.

Well my storylines, both general ship-wise and my contribution to the kidnapping, are all up to date and ready to go.  And I am pretty sure that VENI are doing fine (and their subplot is not really tied to the timing of the Sollamens battle, so their progress is kind of irrelevant to this discussion).  So really, whenever the 'attack post' goes up I for one am fine.  I can't speak for the squadrons, of course

I would love to be able to post on your behalf, but alas I am away this weekend.  Sorry man, no can help!

So basically, I am, alas, useless to this discussion.  When best to post is entirely in the hands of the SFC.

My personal opinion is to delay it, but the VE doesn't work on my time. Joamer says to go ahead with the Friday morning option. We'll get things done somehow, even if it means employing Strill to actually write something. Wouldn't that be nice...

I'd write the damn posts myself, but I think Hades and Joamer can vouch for why I've been holding off on writing a post. I've sort of been ordered off the com temporarily due to RL stuff.

Currently, I'm aiming for posting my NPC delivering the message spiel in around 13 hours or so. 1000 Zulu.

Feeling about 65% so will be pushing out a few posts.

Firday is my big test over the stuff I learned about HAZMAT this week and the MSgt promises it to be just as hard as our study exercises have been.
The test out of the way will hopfully help with the tired thing however, still gonna be on "sick status" till I feel at least 80% so the posts I push out are gonna be less than my best.

Per request from Sam I will be posting the actual conversation between Twitch and Dunny tonight and as I am trying to not study and need the distraction and I think my pacing was getting on his nerves...

Phew.  Three posts in a day, each over 800 words.  Haven't done that in a while.

I'm afraid quality starts dropping off, the more I wrote, but those should give you all the general idea of what's next.

Generally, though: take this weekend to cover the initial arrival at the Sollamens, and the eerie lack of action that happens.  When I'm back next week, we'll focus on the next stage, when most of the Fleet goes hunting and gets ambushed, while Strill and the ground troops find the tunnels and... well, get ambushed. 

Yeah.  I don't know how Trick's gonna react to Serpent's failure... most interesting.

And yeah, I guess I was bouncing off the M reference when I threw in Star Wars versions of the D-Day and H-Hour terms.    Aurebesh soup!

Seeing as Strill are going to do ground work, are we going to be wearing the Storm Commando armour, or our regular flight suits?

Okay, next post is up!  Mostly just some CD as I chronicle Serpent's fall from grace even more.  And trust me, things are going to get much worse for my character as this battle goes on!

Just some encouraging stats for you all right now.  At time of writing 15 different people have posted to the story in the last 7 days.  A total of 32 posts have been made in the same time frame.  And Counterpunch: Death is now ranked 24 on the biggest stories of all time list!

(as an amusing aside to any of you who like Song of Ice and Fire, in the first draught of my latest post I accidently capitalised the 'O' in 'others', to read that Trick planned to have Others rescue Stormz.  Now wouldn't that be a sight!)
