Fleet Week!!!

It's Fleet Week here in San Francisco, and my boyfriend just revealed that he bought us tickets for a cruise around the Bay aboard the Liberty Ship S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien all day Saturday, and arranged a private tour of the amphibious assault vessel (aircraft carrier) U.S.S. Wasp all day Sunday, conducted by the ship's XO no less (friend of a friend)! As a result, I'll be away this weekend, nerding out on a World War II-era legend and a contemporary carrier named after a World War II legend.

I agree with Serpent! I myself went aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, and got to watch a mock amphibious assault -- they're pretty cool ships, I can tell you that!
