Hey, guys. Sorry about being gone so much- RL has had me so busy I've been lucky to manage 5 hours of sleep, lol.

I've really enjoyed being CNW and would have liked to continue in that role. However, I've found over the last month or so that I've hit that turning point in my life that many of us hit toward the end of college that cuts down the time we have for extra things. It's better, both for me and the Navy, for me to switch over to a role that doesn't demand as much posting. That's not to say I won't be around whenever I can, of course. I'm looking forward to serving as CNO.

I'm really excited to have Trick replacing me as CNW. You guys don't need me to tell you what a great job he'll do- we've all seen the quality of his work. Trick: I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with and will be ready to help out whenever I can, however I can.

I'm sad to see you move on from CNW, too, Drac: you're literally the only person who's been in the role since I joined, and you've done an incredible, inspiring job throughout my time here.  I've always aspired to lead VEN stories the way you always have: by planning thoroughly beforehand (collaboratively, including others' ideas and desires), having fun writing throughout (leading by example by challenging yourself to experiment and stretch as a writer, while always striving to have fun rp-wise), encouraging everyone in the Division to shape the tale too, and making sure everybody is recognized at shiny-time.  Now that I'm going to be expected to actually do all that I'm more than a little nervous: you're a tough act to follow!

With that said, I know that you're going to be a superlative Chief of Naval Operations, Drac!  I'm so excited to see what you bring to the position.

As for me, this little change-up in the roster means that the VENA staff should expect some announcements by the end of the week, and it's also simplified the development process for the new story arc somewhat, so I'll go ahead and announce this here and now:

VEN: Counterpunch will begin by the end of the week.  It will be a many-months-long (irl) story arc in the grand tradition of "the Drac era," ()which will feature all three branches of the Navy (the Starfighter Corps, Fleet Command, and those tricksy VENI agents) over multiple smaller stories, as we bring the fight to the Imperial Dominion's home territories, at last.

So stay tuned, Navy!  Big things coming very soon!  Thanks, btw, to both StOrMz and Drac, for the vote of confidence; I won't let y'all down.

Hello, gentlebeings.

As you might have guessed, there's another announcement to be made! With the recent reshuffling in the NHC, the Chief of Naval Training position was left vacant. I'm pleased to announce that Warrant Officer Echelon has agreed to become the Navy's next chief trainer.

Congratulations, Ech! Carry your responsibility well. And don't drive the new recruits too insane. Trykon will want to get at least a couple of weeks of good use out of them before they fall completely into madness.
