Chapter 1: Hidden Power, Secrets of the Rebellion

"Fellow Officers... I have not gathered you today in celebration. I have recieved disturbing news from the Imperial High Command," Admiral Garrel Grebble carried a daunting demeaner, towering above most of the officers in the briefing room at a height of nearly two meters.  His hair was white and wirey, but his face was stout and menacing with eyes fierce enough to fry an egg, when he was angry.  He was not a man that you cross lightly and he ran his ship with the utmost authority and regard for regulations. "The fleet over Endor has been destroyed by the Rebel Alliance.  Many of our comrades in the outer rim are already retreating to the core to reinforce Imperial Center." Gray and blackshirted officers alike looked around in disbelief at the news. "It will take some time for our particular group to be reassigned but in the mean time I have our latest orders." Admiral Grebble turned to face the holoprojector in the center of the dark room, a scaled down version of a long ship flickered to life in blue light above the circular projector.

"This ship you may have heard of, a few years back it was intercepted over Tatooine carrying stolen, classified schematics of Galactic importance. This is the Tantive IV, CR90 Corvette heavily modified to look like a diplomatic vessel...150 meters in length.  Earlier reports would have you believe this vessel was destroyed in an asteroid field, or dismantled by an Imperial salvage team depending on your clearance level at the time.  In reality, it was sent to Kaut Ship Yards to be gutted and remanufactured as a prototype CR90b.  Outfitted with higher firepower and prototype hyper and sublight drives, the ship was to be the fastest covette of its size, but the added engines and weaponry, we weren't able to provide power to the entire ship at once without slowing it down to less than anticipated speeds.  Therefore we redirected the main R&D team at Imperial Center to develop a new type of power generator.  With more and more Imperials defecting each stardate, secrecy was of the utmost importance so only one prototype generator was made and it was outfitted to the Tantive IV above Imperial Center.

The ship, renamed the ISS Hidden Power, was enroute back to Kaut Drive Yards with an entire fleet escort to be reverse engineered and mass manufactured when it was intercepted last starweek, somewhere outside the Azath Sector.  The governing moff of the sector said it had been at least three months since any organized pirating had been reported in the area and we know it couldn't have been rebel forces seeing as the entire rebel fleet was occupied during the battle of Endor.  According to Imperial Intelligience, we are dealing with an extremely subtle, extremely organized pirate entity, one with enough firepower to rival the rebellion itself, so...the 74th fighter group along with two star destroyers from Azath Sector Armada.  We are to take on all pirate hunting duties in the outer rim indefinatly as the two fleets previously assigned move to protect Correllia and Carida.  Our primary objective: Tracking, interogating, and eliminating all acts of piracy in the Outer Rim.  Secondary Objective: Retrieve the ISS Hidden Power and escort it imediatly back to Imperial Center.

As you know men, I am not a man of details or sentiments, any more information you will need will be in your posted orders along with coordinates to Azath Prime where we will refuel, rearm, and rest for the next two stardates before continuing with our mission. You are dismissed."
