A few days ago I was having screen issues which led to light activity yon my part, yesterday it kept locking up every few minutes which meant I couldn't really do much.
I'll try and have a temporary solution set up, I'll check in from time to time, I will not be on IRC so reaching me by PM would be best; I'll try and check in every day but no promises. My computer was adapted to my needs and without it I can't use a laptop which is all we have at my place, right now I'm not home and using a desktop. If I had ZoomText on a thumb drive I'd be able to use almost any computer but that costs 600$ not including taxes which I don't have the freedom to spend that kind of money right now...As such the only ZoomText-enabled computer I have is off to get looked at and hopefully fixed...Sometimes being visually impaired isn't all that great of a handicap.
Give me 2 weeks though it may only take a few days but I'd rather be safe than sorry, this goes for Ellesmere as well |

My temporary solution is using my mother's computer, won't be on every day but it's better than not being on at all and will only be on a few minutes at a time as I can't really read this screen. But I'm alive! |

Will have to extend this Leave for at least another week, the sister's friend's dad didn't want to open up my laptop and so only took a look at it and strangely it worked fine for him however things are getting worse at a steady rate. As such I will need to bring it in for servicing as the problem was narrowed down to a hardware issue and with my luck it'll be in their possession for a few days but with luck it won't cost me so much in the end taht I'm flat-out-broke till next week and hopefully they will be able to fix the issue so that I can use my computer again...
I hate to be gone-ish for this long, don't think it has ever happened but will try to check in every day (or almost) till I get the 'puter back |

So my video card is 'dying' as a few people kindly put things, no one's willing to replace anything on this laptop for some reason and so have sent oput a few emails as per what to do for financial assistance as i don't believe the Assistive Devices program will help as the computer's only 3 1/2.
So I'm back-ish, I'll be around but don't expect miraculously huge amounts of activity from me. When I can see what I'm typing without needing to use speech software, so when I get a new computer which will hopefully be soon my activity will increase but until then...Light activity to be expected from me. Also taking into consideration taht tehre's always the possibility my computer will crash againa nd that the situation will worsen |

So my dad,brother and possibly even an extended family member have suddenly taken interest in my computer and as such...I'll have to revive this leave until say...Christmas day. may be shorter may have to be extended I don't know...Will play it by ear and see.
I'll try to pop on from time to time but no promises. |

If anyone needs me feel free to PM me; my sister's only leaving the 8 or 9th of January so until I get my coomputer back which will only take a few days hopefully I'll be able to log on at least once a day to check PMs and if I can I may hop on IRC for a few minutes. I really hope this situation gets resolved real quick....I hate not seeing what I'm typing and mny eyes getting tired faster than usual and I hate being this inactive the most.
On the plus side today is my 5th VE anniversary |
