First things first: Comnet. It seems you've mastered that one though.. Congratulations
Next things next: IRC. You can access IRC by the JavaChat on the main page, or by logging into mIRC and going to the server - irc.massassi.net That should have been explained to you in the email sent by Swomz and Darkhawk.
After that, its plain sailing You'll go into the Flight School, where you'll be told how to be active, and then assigned to a Squadron, who will, hopefully, keep you active.
So.. Get logged on to IRC! The channel is #vast_empire by the way -----------------------
